1995. Stopped watching pokemon ever since they made it a cable show.
Prior to 1975
1990 - 19 years old.
It's pretty interesting to see the poll results. It's almost bell-curve like, except not totally symmetrical. Those people born in 1988-1991 seem to be quite the majority because we were closest to the target age when Pokemon first came out (would the target age have been around 7-10 years old?). I suppose being there from the beginning is mostly what contributes to all the nostalgic love. I sure thought, the first time I played the games, that it was the most awesome game ever, and I love the other generations too, but nothing came close to the excitement I had in playing Pokemon Red the first time! So there's definitely something to be said from having been there from the beginning and having grown with the series.
Born in 1989 :D
Yes! I'm slightly older than most people here.
I was nearly/turning ten when the Pokèmon stuff first started in America. I'm not sure what my children will get in terms of Pokèmon, but I'm glad I was able to experience what I did. Despite my name, I started with the Blue and then the Gold version.
I remember watching the anime for the first time...
I was about 4 and my sister told me to watch this show called pokemon,
It was the episode where Misty gets her psyduck, and I have loved the series ever since!
1 2 3 4
Born in 1995, and I'm gonna be 14 this year! I've been with Pokemon since the first games~
Got into pokemon about 1997.
'93 is winning Haha, we're the best!
Born a week into 1986. So that makes me 23.
All I remember was that I was in Middle School when Pokemon arrived. I got Red and was obsessed once the anime came out, watching it religiously and drooling over the cute characters. And that's how it happened. XD
1989; been a fan since the beginning. Eventually fell out with the card game, and the anime was probably this close to losing me when Advanced Generation came along and made things all better, but the games have never faded from my interest. To this day, I wonder where my copy of the original Pokemon Pinball disappeared to (this time...yeah, I've lost that more than once), even though I no longer have any hardware I could play it on (okay, not totally true...I still have my old GBC, though I have questions about how well it works. My GBA SP, though...I really want that one back.)
I may not have any strong opinions about the anime ships, but I'll defend Rendshipping until the end of time! ...no pun intended.
I was born 1984, so I'll be 25 this year. I started playing Pokemon around high school, which would make it a year or so before 2000. Yellow was my first game. I also started watching the anime around that time as well, when it aired in the Philippines.
Wow, I feel old. I may be one of the oldest people in these forums, heheh...
