So the latest Robot Chicken episode that just finished airing had this sketch where a wrinkly old couple were saying to their grandkids "eh, i remember when there used to only be 150 pokemon". I laughed my ass off, and then i felt depressed as i realized how old i'm getting.

I was born in 1997! I first got Sapphire for my birthday one year I don't remember when though but it was before DP came out. Then I didn't understand it at all it was over my head. I really got into Diamond when I got it put a lot of hours into it. I got that the year it was released.

I was born in 1991 and that makes me 21. I remembered the golden age of Pokemon when the franchise was popular throughout the world. Is it 1998 onwards? I'm not sure.

I think the world moved on though. But I'm still a fan nonetheless.

22, old enough to remember the Golden Age. Pokémon was everywhere then. Awesome.

I was born in 1989. I became a Pokémon fan somewhere in 1997, when my classmates were playing TCG and Pokémon Game Boy games.

I was born in 1988 - I'm 24. I found Pokemon in September 1999, as I turned 11. I remember getting excited about the first episode of the anime, but then being disappointed because The Wild Thornberrys was airing at the same time. And here's the irony that'll haunt me forever: I chose The Wild Thornberrys and taped Pokemon to watch later -___-

I was instantly in love with the anime but as I didn't have enough to buy the games, I had to sate my hunger with The First Movie and this little leaflet that came with it, showing thumbnails of all 150 pokemon and a snippet of info about how to catch them in the games. I studied that leaflet like it was the effing bible. I fell asleep reading it and dreaming of the games. Finally, in September 2000, my Dad (who lives overseas) granted my wish: for my 12th birthday present he sent me Pokemon Red version and a GBC!!! The Red Version was in French (and I don't speak French!) but still I chose my Charmander and beat Brock in my first afternoon.

Next year I got Yellow, the first game I would play through to the end, and my career as a trainer truly started.

Sadly just as I was getting 'in' to Pokemon, the fad was dying out and by 2003 it was 'uncool' to still like Pokemon. I did not care; I still adored it. I admit the franchise sort of lost me around the 3rd gen - it was the first gen I'd ever played 'alone' (as my friends didn't want to trade/battle/talk about it anymore), and I was going through my 'I'm a teenager and I hate everything' stage. It was also, overall, the gen I happen to like least; I played R/S but didn't appreciate them the way I should've. However 4th gen, released when I was 17, rekindled my passion. When BW was released I was involved in watching the Japanese reveals right through to localisation for the first time, bringing even more excitement, and now we stand at the eve of the 6th gen already! I can't believe I'll be 25 when it comes out o__O

That's me and my poke-history xD

I breed egg move pokes & DW females.

For me, it's 1997 (16 years old). My first game was Pokemon Sapphire (first Poke was Blaziken, still have it at Lv 100, Black 2 )
My fave Wartortle (obvious, isn't it?) came as my very first Poke in FireRed. I remember for being mocked as the only one who picked Squirtle out of the entire class! (All boys got Charmander, of course, since we were able to see OS in syndication all time). They eventually regreted it, after I traded hatched Squirtles to all of 'em, and I got some Charizards as well...
My hate Mewtwo mainly comes from the anime, and M01 in particular. Too much drama for a overpower-looking Poke. Later on, I got an Emerald (Swampert).

However, as soon as gen 4 came out, my and most of my friend's parents refused to buy us a DS, and our interest in Pokemon started fading while after while. The transmission from elementary to junior high school did so too. Back then, we started playing Yu-gi-oh and later World of Warcraft. I decided to stop after 3 years because I was too dragged to it. I had to forget it, somehow, though. That's how I got into Pokemon again. I bumped into Bulbapedia and persuaded Parents to buy me DS, Platinum (Infernape) and HG (Typhlosion), so that I keep off Wow... Then came gen 5, more devotion into the Pokemon Anime and finally accounts at Bulbagarden...

I got a scum result on that bush! LYNCH IT LYNCH IT LYNCH IT!

Hello there. I'm a 90's kid through and through. Born in 1990. That'll make me 23 come the end of March and I'm just as excited for Pokemon X & Y as I was when I recieved Pokemon Blue for Christmas way back when. It was the first Video game I personally owned and the first one I beat. I suppose that, looking back, I have more of a connection to Pokemon than even I realized. I wish I knew more about the series and was a little more 'pro' if you know what I mean.
