Default How do male-only Pokemon multiply?

In the Pokemon world, there are obviously some that are either female-only (the Chansey line, Kangaskhan, etc.) or male-only (the Hitmons, Tauros, etc.) In the wild, it's easy for females to breed since their offspring will always be of their own species. But what about the guys? How can they be so abundant in the wild when the only known way to continue their line is to find a Ditto somewhere, which don't even appear in most areas? Some, of course, have a female counterpart, like the Nidorans and Volbeat/Illumise, so they have a 50/50 chance for either gender. But for many others, notably the new Pokemon like Nageki/Dageki and Wargle, this isn't currently an option (unless I'm missing something concerning Vuljina). Any theories?

Maybe they breed with other species from same egg group.

Maybe they're hermaphrodites untill they're fully mature.

All I could think of is hacks...which isn't really legitimate. Probably Game Freak:

    A. Didn't want them to be normally bred in the first place.
    B. Encouraged breeding with others in the same egg group.
    C. Encouraged the use of Ditto.
    D. Didn't put too much thought into the billions of details in the game.

Idea: all Pokémon of same species can have spore based reproduction in wild. This allows one to reproduce regardless of sex.

    Hmm.

Well, it'd be nice to know how the egg gets there to begin with before pondering how said process is incorporated within specific species.
I mean, it's not even confirmed how male/female pokeys reproduce. One would assume sexually, but still...
No one knows how it gets there (. .)

    Henceforth, my money's on aliens.

Maybe they can change gender, like azurill.

Thanks to King of Jesus (Neodark) for the banner!

According to the wiki, Nidoran-F and Illumise can make eggs that hatch into their male counterparts. The Hitmons and Tauros, however, remain a mystery as to how since the Day-care couple are constantly asleep on the job.

Genderless Pokémon (i.e. Magnemite) are an even bigger mystery, since they're, well, lacking in even having a gender.

They mate with their female counterparts, or ones in the same egg group. Eg. Tauros + Miltank, Nidoking + Nidoqueen, etc.
    yeah.

Maybe ditto for some of them...

And maybe there are pokemon that have not been discovered yet.

    Like tauros for instance.

Later on in the next generation, milktank came.

But the offspring will always bear the species of the mother, silly! (9 9)

Nidoran doesn't count since it's still technically the same species.

What about the Hitmons? They don't have female counterparts.
