Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
Blaziken. Infernape. Emboar.
The Three Fire/Fighting Pokemon so far released by Game Freak.
This is intended pretty much as a dumping ground for the discussion on Fire/Fighting Pokemon, particularly Fire/Fighting Starters.
What do you think? Should Game Freak continue to make Fire/Fighting Pokemon? Should they stop? Would you be okay if they made more Fire/Fighting types, just not as Starters? Do you like the combination on Starter Pokemon and wish for Game Freak to continue? Why?
Of the three existing Fire/Fighting Pokemon, who is your favorite? Why? Who did they drop the ball with? Did they drop the ball at all?
What are your thoughts on this issue?
Personally, I don't mind the typing at all, I just mind that they keep using it on Starter Pokemon. If I never see another Fire/Fighting Starter again it'll be too soon, but the combination itself is nice.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
It's a nice combination so I would like to see it again, but just definitely not on the starters. Twice was enough, but 3 in a row was well over the top.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
No. Not as a starter, not as a wild pokemon, not even as an obscure event that requires you to be in Tokyo for 2 weeks out of the year. I'm so sick of Fire/Fighting after three generations of fire/fighting starters.
As far as favourite, I'll go with Chimchar/Monferno/Infernape. But I also think they dropped the ball with them, having Fire/Fighting two generations in a row. Couldn't he have been... I dunno, Fire/Ground?
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
I don't mind the combination so much but I wish they would stop. IMO Blaziken was the coolest one and Infernape wasn't bad either but Emboar... Not only did it feel like they have over done it, he's just not as good as the other 2.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
No, its way overdone. They should choose another type to combine with Fire for the starter in future games, or even just have it be pure Fire again. Three was too many IMO.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
No. Please no more of this nonsense... two was already too many. Three is ridiculous. Any more would just be pathetic. I would prefer any typing over another fire and fighting honestly.
Although I hated the fact that Emboar was part fighting, he actually wasn't my least favorite. My least favorite is Infernape. The concept is just too generic for me. They already had a fighting monkey in Mankey, so I wish they'd taken a more creative route even if they were set on making it a fighting type. At least Emboar showed a bit more creativity, at least in my opinion. Blaziken was my favorite of the three. I like its stats, its design, and its concept. Who would have thought of a flaming fighting chicken but Game Freak?
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
No. If Gamefreak keeps using this type combination, then the whole pokedex will be filled with fire/fighting types and really i'm getting tired of seeing a starter that's fire/fighting because Blaziken was the original and enough.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
They should definitely use the typing again, just not on a starter. Blaziken and Infernape were great, but Emboar was too much. They dropped the ball with it.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
I have to agree, I like the typing but I do not want it on another starter.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
no, at least not in Gen 6, but it would be sort of interesting to get fighting/fire. i know it's virtually the same, but in terms of a pokemon's design and other things, i would accept a solitary pokemon like this.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
Not in the next gen, not even wild Pokemon (or evolutions). A Fire-Steel starter or something like that would be nice.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
No more Fire/Fighting types. It's ridiculous and overdone now, and there are much more interesting combos to try. For example, I was THRILLED when they made the Litwick line since I like both Fire and Ghost types. Maybe we should have a starter set with that typing next generation.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
I don't really care much for it, though if they put it on another starter even I would call it repetitive and uncreative. Way overdone, if ever that actually happened. On the wild pokémon, I wouldn't mind.
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
Blaziken is awesome, I never liked Infernape and Emboar is meh. No...no more fire/fighting starters, it's starting to get repetitive. If it's a non-starter then I guess it's ok, though. I'd love to see a fire/electric for some reason, though. (not including Rotom heat)
Re: Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Should there be more?
I wouldn't mind seeing a few more fire/fighting types as its a good type combo. But as has been said here previously I don't really want any more fire/fighting type starters, 3/5 of the fire type starters is enough.
