Thread: Did Pokémon change your life?

Well, Pokemon got me into computers, which gave me recreation- because before I got really into Pokemon I didn't do anything for fun, really. Just school stuff. I became a webmistress, and I went from the least popular kid in school to a highly-regarded webmaster in a small yet great community. What else could I ask of anything?

Pokémon didn't change my life. It is my life.

It took me away from the rest of the world. As a result, I got to do a lot of quiet thinking to myself...

I don't know where that led, eventually. I did have some wonderful fantasies of a pokemon world, though. And I put them all down on paper.

It was my gateway to anime, like many others. And it was also my gateway to games.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, in particular, got me to write fanfiction.

Is the pope a catholic? Of course.

Of course it did!

Even though it's still the only anime I watch, It has given me new-found respect for anime in general.

Who knows where I'd be if I didn't like Pokemon?

Pokemon was my gateway drug into the world of video games. Of course it did.

Pretty much this. Something that hasn't really been mentioned yet is that contrary to popular opinion, Pokemon is actually quite good for maintaining a social life. I've made plenty of friends on various forums including here over it, and at college Pokemon is one of my primary conversation starters. Seriously, random people in the dining hall would ask about my Pokewalker or my Pokabu hat and we would go from there. I've made a few friends outside of my dorm hall, classes, and clubs because of it.

If I never got into Pokemon, I wouldn't have become obsessed with nintendo, and if I never got into Nintendo, I would probably not be such a geek at school, home, etc. So yeah, it's TOTALLY affected my life.

Well, let's see. It gotten me countless friends, boosted my confidence, it's brought good times, helped me through bad times, taught me quite a lot...Hell, it even helped me meet my boyfriend.

tl;dr: Way more than it should have.

Yes it has. I think of strategies to make my team awesome nearly every second of my life.

Because of pokemon I found the shippings..and the Anime being loved by most,and what I love until today..there might be an advantage and disadvantages for liking an anime but pokemon kept me liking shippings throughout the anime series..

It got me into Anime and it's such a huge part of my life now that it's hard to imagine life witout it.

If I never discovered Pokemon, I never would have found this wonderful site.

It's made me broke a lot more frequently.

I'm actually planning to import the Gen 6 games from Japan when they eventually come out. Guess how much that's gonna cost....

Yes it has, Its made me more happy.

No, it didn't, outside of teaching me some basic logic. (I was a horrible maths student; not that it really helped, but I'm able to get a wanker's grasp of it now.)

It's just been an enjoyable ride through the last decade or so and I've remained a very faithful fan. Once people started to turn against it in droves (LOL, that's not cool anymore, what's wrong with you???) it made me realise more succinctly that people can be tools and I don't pay attention to them.

So I enjoy myself and am more content than most when it comes to enjoying their pleasures and loving their passions unabashedly.
