Thread: Best Water type starter

Same thing as the other threads. Which is the best water starter? The worst? why? Which is your favorite? Your least favorite? Why?

I'd go with Blastoise here... he's a friggin' trutle with shell cannons!

All the other water starters are good too but IMO he's the coolest.

Totodile for this one. I just like his design best I guess :)

Totodile is one of my favorite pokemon, so I have to go with him. Croconaw is also awesome, even if I don't like him as much. But Feraligator is such a letdown after Croconaw...
But Totodile is still too awesome.

Mudkip. Marshtomp is okay. Swampert is just awesome. He's an improved version of the evil Quagsire...

Never played Johto so I don't know about Totodile. Squirtle is fine. Piplup is.... just meh..

I chose Hoenn, but I like them all. I chose Mudkip because I have a game (version Ruby) in which I had a Mudkip and raised up to a lvl. 74 Swampert (going for lvl. 100). I also have a Blastoise in that game too, but I like the artwork of it in Kanto and not in Hoenn (same goes for Venusaur and Charizard). Piplup is awesome too(have version Diamond [raised it up to an Empoleon and is trying to beat Elite Four. Managed to get up to Lucian, but had to go to get a Manaphy egg]). Totodile is awesome as well, but I like all Water type Pokemon.

o.k swampert is obviously the best being part gounde type

The best would have to be Swampert. He has a great support move pool and excellent bulk and typing. He also has pretty good offensive stats and can work as a late game sweeper with Curse and Rest. The worst really depends. If you consider the move set then Feraligatr since he is an inferior Gyarados. But when comparing only the starters then Blastoise. The only he can do that the others can't is rapid spin which isn't such a big deal considering the most common spin blocker is Rotom-A who doesn't take much damage from Blastoise and can OHKO with T-bolt. Empoleon is probably the second best due to its Sub Petaya set.

Mudkip!!! I don't even care about the meme, Mudkip is just so cute! Water/ground typing is great too :D

I like Blastoise the most of the final Water starters though Swampert isn't too far behind on my list. :p

Back on topic, I love Squirtle cause turtles rock and because he's so friggen' cute.
