Thread: Best Grass type starter

Treecko. He's fast. Sadly, its moveset is mainly physical in sceptile stage. Then, i like Torterra

Torterra is awesome but Sceptile is as cool

I would have to say the Treecko Line. They all have awesome designs and Sceptiles are amazing in battles.

Turtwig Line is a close second, to me.

Chikorita coz it's visually appealing. Plus, I love chikorita in the anime. I love how she "pawns" that annoying pikachu.

Treeko line,because i played emerald like 11-12 times.
Everyone else is second because i can't choose the best out of the other three lines.they are all equally awesome.

Probably the Treecko evolution line.

i would go for the bulbasaur family. sceptile second.
venasaurs are awesome and have the edge over the gyms buuuut *UGLY*. I might have said treeko but they kinda freak me out.

IMO, the Bulbasaur evolutions were the best, with the Treecko evolutions pulling a close second (even though I don't even like Treecko/Grovyle/Sceptile )

grass types are weak.

by default, voted treecko for it's line being able to learn dragon claw.

I like Bulbasaur because a grass/poisen type is cool! Turtwig just stole Mudkips thunder being a half ground type at the end of the line

Not even a hard choice, as I'm not the biggest fan of most of the grass starters (prefer to use Roserade). Treecko is definitely my favorite, though.

Its a tie between Sceptile and Torterra D:

Torterra as I feel it is versitile, and quite viable in competitive play... even in OU.

With Tyranitar and Hippowdon running around the OU tier, I feel that the only reason Torterra is not OU already is because of the overabundance of Ice type moves (for the Dragons).

Now that Salamence is gone, Ice type attacks may, may see a drop in usage (don't quote me on that though. Dragonite, Flygon and overall coverage still makes the Ice type a good offensive type to have), which means that Torterra can become even more viable.

In fact, most Grass type starters are viable in OU. Sceptile might even rise to the tier if the Suspect ladder of Smogon is anything to go by. Venusaur is very viable as well, but gets outclassed by Roserade. Meganium's the only one I can't see lasting long in any tier above UU
