Typhlosion is *decent* at best. It's quite fast and strong, but it's cursed by being a fire-type and it doesn't have enough bulk to live very long (thought it's far from being completely frail). There are just pokemon that do the same job, but much much better.

Like Infernape. It's neutral to SR, faster, and stronger than any other fire starter because it can effectively run a mix set better than many pokemon in general or run a fantastic specialized set. And on that note, it's got the best buffing move out of any of the fire starters in Nasty Plot; it's special attack is high already, boosting that just means nothing will enjoy a Flamethrower or Overheat or Grass Knot from Infernape. It's more frail, but for as fast and strong as it is, it's a pure sweeper (thereby the "If it gets hit it dies" logic comes into play) and it does it fantastically well.

I've played pokemon since yellow, I know my metagame, and Typhlosion is just inferior. That's the fact of it.

Cyndaquil all the way. But when it comes to final forms (Infernape, Blaziken, etc.) I choose Blaziken. Infernape is by far the worst. A cheap rip-off of Blaziken.

And I completely agree with you that it's a ripoff of Blaziken.

There's a problem however, Infernape outclasses Blaziken by a thousandfold.

Charizard, since it's my first Pokémon ever. ^^

I voted the Torchic line (Hoenn) not for any competitive battling reason or other such reasons, but for the fact that it's ironic (and tasty) to have a fiery chicken. Yum.

This being the reason why people think of Infernape as an improvement instead of the rip-off it really is.

i love charmander charmelon and charizard. they have never steered me wrong before. and acording to the pokemon birthday thing im a charizard. :D yay fire.

I think blaziken's kinda cool (considering its just a chicken who's on fire).

My favorite is Cyndaquil's line. I feel as though it has the best design and it is just a fun Pokemon to play around with. (It's also going to be my starter in HGSS.)
