Thread: Best Fire type starter

it a hard pick between charmander & chimchar

i choose chimchar because i like fighting types & he is better than torchic & cindaquil(in my opinion)

then charmander it not about favorits charmander is just one of or the best fier types (if he aint your 1st pick he's your 2nd)

next it a draw between cindaquil & torchic even though in battle i would go with torchic 6/10 between the two

in all chimchar is # 1

Well, I'm not so sure. Charizard and Typhlosion are both dear to me, and rather good (especially Charizard and his flying) but the fighters have also been a major help in the bast and frankly, they are good.

So, I'm going with Tony.

charmander --> charizard

Dragon dance = GG other fire starters

I really like the cyndaquil line, especially Typhlosion. I'm not sure why it just looks good I guess. With Generation 4 its appeal increased for me as it gained some of the more uncommon Fire type move such as Eruption.

If I had to choose a least favourite its the Chimchar line. I'm sorry but I just don't like apes...or monkeys.

If it was about which one is the strongest, there wouldn't be a poll. It is obviously Infernape. Choose your favourite, not the strongest.

For me, it doesn't matter. Infernape is incredibly cool.

how is infernape the strongest? what moveset can you give it that makes it the strongesT???

blaziken - brave bird > infernape
charizard - flying type + wing attack > infernape

The strongest overall, not when battling each other. But still.

Earthquake > Blaziken. Infernape is faster.

Stone Edge > Charizard.

can infernape even learn stone edge??? u can baton pass Dragon Dance :) and Blaziken can overwhelm infernape cuz blaziken can tank more than infernape

AND how can you not like Charizard after it's amazing battles

vs Pigeot
vs Dragonite and Dragonair
vs Blastoise
vs Articuno

Did I ever say I don't like Charizard? I like all of the Fire starters. I love Charizard, honestly. But I like Infernape even better.

And saying Dragon Dances can be Baton Passed is a pretty lame excuse. Fine, I can also Baton Pass DDs to my Infernape. Then we're equal.

And yes, Infernape can learn Stone Edge.

Blaziken doesn't have more tank abilities than Infernape. Their defenses suck about equally.
If Infernape is holding Life Orb, it OHKOs Blaziken with Earthquake before it can even make a move.

So, 1-on-1, Infernape beats Charizard 80% of the times. Stone Edge misses a lot, you see.

Blaziken can only beat Infernape if it's holding Choice Scarf. And even then Brave Bird's recoil kills Blaziken and makes it a tie.

And in competitive battling in general, Infernape is much better than the other Fire starters, it's fast, has both good Attack and Special Attack, has a very versatile movepool and is very unpredictible because of all that. That's why it is used so much more.

So, I have nothing against any of the starters, just pointing this out.

The Charmander family is my favorite, but I choose Chimchar in the poll, since it has advantages over all other fire starters, so it's the best, and that is what the poll was asking...

Charmander, because I love all the 1st Gen pokemon!

Charizard has always been my favorite final form of fire starters and always will be. But, I don't like Charmander and Charmeleon as much as Torchic and Combusken, so Torchic, I guess. Even though I don't like Blaziken

Charizard is classic, but Cyndaquil and Torchic are vastly unapriciated. Everyone is talking about how cool Infernape is, but I think Typhlosion or Blaziken are just as awesome.
I guess I would have to choose Cyndaquil because it was my very first Pokemon.
