I agree. I see Arceus as, if anything, some kind of cervine or equine (common thought is it has some centaur or qilin origins).
But I definitely don't see much goat in it, at least personally.

Anybody seen Princess Mononoke? Arceus strikes me in a similar vein to the Forest Spirit, particularly when it is mid-transformation.

My friends and I always used to point out that there was no dolphin Pokemon.

To my recollection, I don't think there is a Pokemon based on a griffin either.

I'm going to design some killer whale and dolphin Pokemon, though. I was also going to make one based on a narwhal as well and call it Narwhale (they do kinda look like whales too, imo).
Well that would be a wailord? Yeah they can whale for science, but Japanese go too far.
Anyways, there are a lot of shark-like Pokemon.

But if you get too specific, as a species, the Pokemon wouldn't be very creative.

Wailord is a blue whale, not a killer whale (also known as the orca whale). Killer whales are much smaller and resemble large dolphins. In fact, it technically is a large dolphin while a dolphin itself is really a small whale. Hehe.

This is why my dolphin Pokemon is going to evolve into the orca/killer whale Pokemon.

Crocodile has been used and I love Krookodile. Anywho I think they should use Komodo Dragon. Just imagine the beast. Would possibly be my favorite Pokemon after Garchomp and Krookodile.

A wooly bear caterpillar - lil guys can essentially freeze to death a come back to life and can stay in the caterpillar stage for years as opposed to a few months like other caterpillars. It could be an Ice/Bug type!

Narwhal pokemon would be cool with the horn n such

    A Tupac pokemon

I am quite surprised that we have yet to have any Bug types based on the true flies (Diptera). There's a huge amount of diversity in that order which could inspire some very cool Pokemon designs.

Some other animals I'd like to see: Lemurs, Tarsiers, Flying fish, Sea snakes, Manatees, Aardwolves, Cassowaries, Llamas, Giant tube worms, Scorpion Fish, Snow Leopards, Coconut crabs, Lyre Birds, Albatrosses, Calyptra moths, Orchid mantises, Flying foxes, Glow-worms and Star-nosed moles.
    I'm probably forgetting some...

They haven't done a goat. I'd love to see that. Or a ram, maybe.
