Thread: Who should Ash end up with in the anime?

I don't see any shippings coming to fruition in this show. They are just thrown in there to make character dynamics more interesting.

Much as I love Palletshipping, Satoshi should end up with no one. It would be so out of character for a Chaste Hero like him.

Chances are, Ash isn't going to end up with anyone. Even in an epilogue or some kind of ending special, the chances are low. He's a chaste hero.

...Buuuuuuuuut AdvanceShipping makes the most sense, so it's the only one I can actually see happening.

Its either Misty, or Angie in my opinion, because May will end up with Drew or Harley and Dawn clearly has no interest in Ash other than a friend and I have no clue about Iris

Anything could happen. I would prefer Ashy to be with either Melody,or Anabel.

In my ideal world: May, simple as that.

What it will be in reality: No one ='(

At least in canon, shippings aren't going to be implemented. This isn't going to work...

Anyway, I still support Advanceshipping. Of any non-canon ship, it's still the most compatible and likely pairing.

You're holding a double standard by failing to mention that AS is attacked just as often. Recall how we were treated during AG.

probably no one or someone that was never introduced in the anime. In my opinion, if he ended up with someone from the above list, pokemon would lose some fans, there could be some disappointed fans as well because the person they wanted ash to end up with didn't end up with. There could also be shipping wars and stuff...

While 4Kids tried to push Ash x Misty for a LONG time in countries it was in charge of (and the original series as a whole had one main character obviously desire another, which would never be repeated) the way the show is going now I doubt they will have him go with anybody. I say that not to slam the newest few series but to say that things have changed... it's fallen into a pattern, and any sort of romance at this point would shake it up too drastically. It's obvious now that each series the main girl will be phased out for a new "female specimen" so there isn't enough continuity to really develop any sort of relationship. In the show's early days a lot relied on sexual tension that just isn't there any more. Perhaps we would have had a more conclusive ending with a relationship if the show had ended after one season as was originally planned but it as it is most fans don't even know there is any precedent for feelings between protagonists. To put such a thing back in would feel incredibly out of place. That ship has, as they say, sailed, and now we're past the experimental beginnings where the games were used as a reference rather than a guideline... the series is meant to follow the plot of the games, show off the new Pokemon that will be making profits in the UFO Catchers, and get people to buy/play the games. Any sort of romantic subplot would take attention away from that, and now that the formula has proved profitable in the long run with each new generation it would be too risky to change it.

I'm in shock that people a lot of people are saying "nobody." I'd think the obvious answer would be everybody!

But...no seriously. I just hope it doesn't take a Harry Potter epilogue route and ship him off at the last minute.

Nobody would be my guess, epilogues confirming ships is never fun *cough Digimon cough*

I honestly don't even have a person that I'd want to see him end up with.
