I have a couple reasons of why I mainly ship Advanceshipping overall.
1. It makes sense - From their appetite to their personalities, May and Ash seem like a pair that would mesh well in a relationship because of their similarities. This is also a reason of why I occasionally ship Pearlshipping.
2. The hints - Yes, yes the hints were not always as obvious as Pokeshipping or Contestshipping, however I still believe there were quality hints that roamed through AG (and possibly DP/BW, depending how you feel about it). I'll admit though that many of the hints are questionable (but to me, they are hints).
3. Their relationship in general - When May and Ash first met, they almost immediately took a liking towards the other as Ash took the teacher role with May as his student. In the end, the Terracotta ribbon proved that they had become somewhat equal. I'm pretty certain that Ash has never been equal with any other Pokegirl. This doesn't seem shippy, but I think it's something that makes AS stand out over the others. Also, May seemed like the only girl to (almost) always treat Ash kindly and with respect. Misty, Dawn, and Iris also respected him and were kind, but most of the time they teased him and sometimes disrespected him, whereas May only teased him occasionally and consistently treated him well. For Ash, I feel that May was a big reason why he matured so much in AG and in DP. Unfortunately, in BW, the writers used backtracking to not only make Ash an immature kid again, but also an idiot.

The reasons I do not support other ships (shippers of these ships please do not take offense):
Pokeshipping - I don't support this ship only because I don't particularly like love/hate relationships. Also, I feel it was one-sided towards Misty's part, as I never really saw Ash show any affection towards her (Granted the same for AS, to an extent). I won't deny the hints, though. It was obvious there was something behind this relationship. Sometimes I think this pairing is popular because of nostalgic purposes.

Any other Ash ships (besides IS and PeS) - I don't support simply because I do not care for or look into them.



P.S Please do not argue with me about all of this. I really do not feel like arguing over Pokemon shippings, and you can't change my opinion.

There are a lot of reasons that I support this shipping, and here are a few:
1) Their personalities - sometimes it's almost as if they're the same person, they're so alike. They have basically exactly the same interests, except that Ash likes gym battles and May likes contests, but honestly, I don't really think that matters that much. They both strive to accomplish their own goals, respectively. I think that because of all their similarities and attitudes towards each other, they'd be a perfect couple.
2) The evidence/hints - Okay, some of the hints aren't that obvious, like in other ships, but I still believe that they are there. I don't believe in theories like, "Oh, they're fighting! They must be in love!" I prefer relationships where both characters treat each other respectfully and as friends, which is how Ash and May (almost always) treat each other. Throughout their time traveling together, I think that they've had a vast amount of hints, even though some of them are small. I also like how they treat each other equally, and how they were equally matched in the Terracotta contest. In some places, ribbons are more romantic than roses, and I think one ribbon is more significant than a certain green-haired coordinator someone giving her roses basically every other time they meet. No other girl (that I can remember) has been as equal/similar to Ash than May is, in my opinion. May seemed to bring out the mature side of Ash, although now he's a little kid again, sadly. And to me, swimming with Luvdisc while looking at each other is slightly more of a hint than looking at them through a window, not to mention while Brock was there as well.
3) It makes more sense than other ships - To me, AdvanceShipping just makes more sense than other ships with Ash. Some of them are one-sided, love/hate relationships, and other ideas that I don't support. I believe that in a relationship, you should respect your partner and treat them equally, not as a little kid or rival. To me, AdvanceShipping just seems to be the perfect relationship. But that's just me.

Sorry for the long post, I think I got carried away. And I'm sorry if I offended some of you, it wasn't my intent to do so. My original intent was to convert all of you into AdvanceShippers x'D
And that's why I will always support AdvanceShipping. Wouldn't they make such a perfect couple? x'D
