The next says "Good Luck Musashirina!" And no, that's not a typo, Kojiro wrote Musashi on his banner before crossing out the shi and writing rina instead. It's so cute how the artist picked up on that cute little quirk of Kojiro's.

Ok, say the worst thing happens, there is nothing shippy. But that won't kill the ship or anything. I think you are trying to be pessimistic because you are worried that if there is nothing it's going to be too disappointing for you, and for us.

But anyway, even if there is no shipping,we should still be happy and proud because Musashi made it this far (as you mentioned earlier), and it changed her character for the better. Things can only get better from this.

And another thing, even if there's nothing shippy, it doesn't mean there won't be anything in future episodes.

I guess we set our sights on the GF too much... but I wouldn't give up yet....

(Unless I missed it) I'm going to choose to be optimistic and say maybe he has stuff going on with his personal life right now, and that's why he might not be taking on the next rocket episode.

However, even if he leaves, I won't give up Rocketshipping. DP taught me that a little of patience pays. I put up with AG, can we get anything worse than that? After DP, I don't think so.

And that's the spirit! Even if GF won't bring us anything shippy, I won't be upset - ROCKETSHIPPING IS STILL IMPROVING! It can take another several years until Rocketshipping gets wrapped up, so of course that we can't get hints every possible occassion. Who knows what happens next generation? ;) This is what is the most exciting about it! Rocketshipping would be boring if we get anything we want.

I thought that after AG and early DP, Rocketshippers stop whining about lack of hints, even if they have nothing to whine about. I'm not sure about you, but I'm not so spoiled anymore like I was during Kanto. Now, Rocketshipping has the best position it ever had, so it's not like the writers are going to drop it just like that. Musashi and Kojiro will stay together until the end - it means that Rocketshipping can't die! Shippings like Pokeshipping, Advanceshipping, Contestshipping etc. even if they practically don't exist on the screen anymore, because of chaarcters being written out, are still alive! Rocketshippers can be lucky - not only we have a guarantee that Musashi and Kojiro won't get split up, but the Roketshipping doesn't affect the main plot as well! It means that we're safe :)

It's bound to happen someday. If not this series, it would be the next.
He's arleady old enough to retire (he's the oldest of the crew as well!), but if he chooses not to retire, or if the producers make him stay, he will stay. I know that Japanese fans think of him as "Team Rocket writer" and they think that he's doing excellent job about them. But that's the only one of his advantages. Writing great Team Rocket episodes was important during Kanto days for sure and he still wrote some gym episodes, so his position was really high those days. But now, not only he doesn't get to write some more important episodes, but he gets less and less Rocket episodes as well... it worried me a little. But, there's one more reason why he doesn't get a lot of Team Rocket episodes. What's the main feature of his episodes? Angst, drama, shipping - appealing to more mature audience. Is it what's Pokemon about? No. Pokemon is an adventure, comedy anime aimed generally at kids. That's why most of the episodes must be appealing to kids and be filled with gags. Oohashi and Yonemura are gag writers. Especially Oohashi - he's responsible for the most, if not every running gag in anime. Takegami is nothing like them. He knows how to appeal to adults. Pokemon staff is aware that adults watch Pokemon too, but yet, they're in minority. That's why, there can't be too much of such episodes. Ratings for DP117 weren't very good and we have to remember that Pokemon is what? One, big, commercial anime. So we won't get too much of such episodes until we get our own, spin-off anime xD

I wish I could know what's going on writer's heads (especially Tomioka's) nowadays. We'll probably learn about it in another 10 years, when Tomioka retires and will be recollecting his memories from the time he was a Pokemon series constructor xD;
I had a hunch that he will stay for BW generation. He did such a great job, reviving Pokemon anime, and he's still young... what could make him go? ;)

I'm going to choose to be optimistic and say maybe he has stuff going on with his personal life right now, and that's why he might not be taking on the next rocket episode.

Well, he's known as the busybody of the staff, since he has a lot of other productions to write scripts for, so this may be an explanation as well.

Besides, imagine if we got another shippy episode written by him this generation... we would be too spoiled :P It looks like RG was right, that there's some unwritten rule of one heavily shippy episode every series.

The last episode he wrote was DP169, so it's not like he hasn't written anything in awhile. I'm sure he'll get one last DP episode in June like I predicted. And if he does leave, I think Tomioka will cary on Rocketshipping just fine.

When Kojiro wished Musashi good luck, she replied that she doesn't need the cheering - she was that sure that she will win! She told them to devote themselves and get some job. I loved how Kojiro looked unhappy and asked her if it's ok with her... :3

And then, when Kojiro and Nyasu sold out their stuff (ok, there was still pictures of Musashi left, but that's only a detail xD), and were watching Hikari on the screen, Kojiro got worried about Musashi, because she can't be off guard and wondered if it wouldn't be better if they went to cheer on her :3

I loved the ending - Musashi was actually angry with them that they came to cheer on her, even though they didn't sell everything XDDD Kojiro was all "But it's ok, we earned a lot" but she still told them to sell it tomorrow xD; So it looks like next week they will be selling stuff again while she will be losing... I wonder if Kojiro and Nyasu actually come to see it - if they won't be around, they may feel sort of guilty since it may make them feel that it's because they didn't cheer on her (well, she told them not to, but still). And Musashi will learn a double lesson from this - first - not to be overconfident and the second, more important - that support of your friends is more important than everything else. Even if Musashi kinda came back to her roots for this episode, I think it's actually great in this situation - the more confident she is, the meaner she acts, the more shocking loss will be :3 I have an idea of how she could act, but I don't want to raise everyone's hopes :P

Anyway, I'm in very high spirits for the next week. Something is bound to happen! I don't know what, but something definitely is!

I also have another question about DP175. After Hikari's battle, Musashi seemed upset about something. Was she nervous that it was her turn or something? And what about the part a bit before that where she was mad about something.

Okay now, I feel slightly better thanks to all the translations. I hope PS preview shows at least something that would revive my hope for this next episode. Still not trusting Oohashi though - He might write fun episodes, but there won't be anything shippy.

I'm glad you're feeling better about it, the translation has gotten me even more excited than I was before.

I can't understand what she said first but then she said "I'll win anyway" and "It would be good if two of them lose the first match" (?)
And then, I didn't get it at all, because she was all nervous and yet happy that the match finally ended. Then she noticed that it's her turn yet.
I don't really know how to interprete it.

"Still not trusting Oohashi"? You sound like you worry that he would write another anti-rocketshippy episode (the latest he wrote was... 5 years ago, WOW!)... Of course, it won't be shippy episode, but I think it will be something like DP164, which I liked a lot.

That makes sense because she had lost to both Hikari and Urara before, and she knew both of them would give her a hard time.

I know what you mean, I hated him for his Musashi and Kojiro's (yeah, Kojiro too!) portrayals as much, but there's not really a reason to loathe him for now, since he's just neutral... though I think it's only thanks to Tomioka's doing. Anyway, until Tomioka is in charge, I feel safe with him. He won't write anything Rocketshippy, but he also won't write anything anti-Rocketshippy.

And seriously, saying you don't trust Oohashi sounds like saying you don't trust Tomioka :P Remember, he's planning EVERYTHING! >D And everyone else must obey his orders XD DP isn't written like earlier series, it's not like Kanto/Jouto with a weak series constructor who let other writers to write pretty much whatever they wanted, and not like even crazier AG that didn't have a series constructor at all. Tomioka influenced all writers.

Cool off people. RocketShipping is, by far, the one that I see with the highest chances of being canon. After all the time they have been together (the whole series, starting in EP02), and they don't seem to be bothered or embarrassed with the idea of being a couple. The two of them always end together, so I would not worry. I'm not much into any shippings, but this looks like the closest to canon (even without that many hints).

Hey, guys- it's Poli here! I am SO SORRY that I haven't been on in so long, but don't worry- I'm still present. I've been really busy with school lately (I HATE research papers!), but now it looks like things have calmed down quite a bit.

I am DYING to see this episode, even if I can't find any subs for the original dub before the English dub comes out. Let's hope that something comes out of those moments when they're all alooonnnnneee...lol.

By the way, I just watched last week's episode (Zoey wins 5th ribbon, helps Dawn, etc.) and I was disappointed to see that when Jessie walked away towards the end of the episode when they came out of the bushes BOTH James and Meowth followed after her. I was hoping for only ONE of them to talk to her (grrrrrr). Ah, well *sigh*. So, what's new? I think I should go back and read some of the posts haha.

Hey Poli! The only thing new is that we're right in the middle of the Grand Festival. A bit of a debate on how shippy next week's episode will be.

Actually, only one did talk to her. The dub didn't reflect this as well, but originally Musashi and Kojiro completely ignored Nyasu the entire episode. They didn't look or talk to him at all.

It just goes to show that we don't need Junki to write actual Rocket episodes in order to get some good interactions.
