I'll be sure not to share the news I find in the future then.
I'm not sure if this changed anything, but I did a comparison to what Tomioka did in the latter part of AG since he did take over as head of the show. Here's what I found.
First of all, Tomioka had a similar absence in AG. He didn't have any episodes from late March to Late April either. In fact, many episode numbers and air dates in AG line up almost exactly with DP ones. Something of interest is that while the DP GF started with DP174 (April 29th), the BF one started with AG181 (June 15th). On April 27th 2006, Haruka's 5th ribbon was airing.
So I'm wondering if perhaps the GF starting earlier in DP do to the league made things much too hectic for him, (he's writing the final Satoshi/Shinji battle, we all know it, and I'm sure it's a two parter) so he needed some help with the GF. Yes, he wrote all of the Houen GF, but the only part of the Houen league he wrote was the last episode. (Plus no one was in charge for the Houen GF/league, and BF didn't have an equivalent, not to mention he didn't write Satoshi's AG match with Jindai) And with the DP GF and league most likely being more episodes than the Houen ones, and with Tomioka most likely writting at least
two DP league episodes... well, the man can only do so much! He does have other shows to work on as well.
So I guess what I'm trying to say with all this is that this might be why Fujita is helping out. While Tomioka has always been the Contest guy, there is a lot of very important episode being grouped together, as well as whatever preparations need to be made for the 5th Gen series.
