Ash would be dense as usual. I think Dent would realize that Ash is clueless about romance of any sort, so he would take whatever he could get. He's a patient guy though, so he knows that if he sticks around for awhile (or at least until Ash hits puberty) he'll win his prize.

Ash: "Aw, Dent and I must be really good friends!"
Dent: "Grr...my bishie powers aren't working on this one!"

In concern to the rose giving, I don't think the writers will have Dento give Ash one. That's Drew's thing. He'll give him chocolate instead! Ash would appreciate that a whole lot more. maybe it would be some of the stuff from Harry Potter. It'd be hilarious to see Ash hopped up on Love Potion XD
