What keeps you loyal to Advanceshipping rather than find a new ship or just forget all about it and find something better with your time. Everyone has a why. What's yours?

Out of the other Ships for Ash & May, AdvanceShipping is the only thing that would work out.

Well, topic time. I'll answer them all!

If you were somehow transported to the pokemon world,which character would you be and how will you get ash and may together?

This is hard since I want to be Ash(When I was a little, I fell in love with May O_o) But well, since my characteristic is kinda funny,serious at the time but clam if the situation tough so I think I could be Gary, Ash's rival.

First, I'll poke Ash about how he having a beautiful mate travelling with him during his Hoenn journey. He'll be dense and ask me "who". I took a photograph off my pocket(Somehow I got it though) and show it to him. He'll said "May?" with confused looked. I then poked him again, asking how Ash and May look good together. He somehow blushed and looking at me straight shouting "W-Well! We just friend!". I smiled and walked away. Ash looking at me, stunning with confused looked.

Second, I somehow saw May visited Ash so I can't helped but to laugh "See what I told ya!! You too looked good together!!". May and Ash both blushed but May turning to looked at Ash, asking who am I. So.. I introduced myself as I saw them both looking at each other so closed, so I walked quietly and slowly then push May. Her lip suddenly join up with Ash's lip as I smiled and walked away again. Before I go, I shouted "Happy valentine day, love birds xD" then I disappear.




So let's say AdvanceShipping had a flag to represent it, what would it look like? what colors would it feature? and what symbol would it have?

We already have it and I'm totally agreed with it so yeah. No need to answer for this.




If (WHEN) Ash and May are a couple, do you think their interactions will change? Also who do you think will "wear the pants" of the relationship or will they keep on more even ground?

It will definitely gonna change since their relationship change from friend point to AWESOME! They will sure gonna do something more than friend, such like huging,kissing on cheeks(They're too young for that) or maybe mouth if necessary.. LoL! handshakes, high five(But lots more meaningful than doing with Dawn) etc.

I'm sure they will stand on even ground since they so much like each other and they gonna called each other by name like "Ash" or "May" but for romantic time might be "Ashley..". As for May, I can't think about her lovely name though but Ash's sure gonna keep calling her like that. For Japanese version, just added "kun" and "Chan" would be enough. Somehow at some point, there should be a hilarious scene where Ash and May trying to wear each other clothes! That's would be funny a lot!



Name a problem Ash and May might have when they're together.

The only problems I can think of was their goal and their jealous friends as we all knew that Misty "does" like Ash but Ash didn't reacted back so one sided probably. Drew, I dunno but surely, we should be jealous at some points since he always threw his rose to May for some reasons.
Their goal problem is not quite a hard problem since they knew what they should do.

For me, I liked them to travelling together for a short time first then spit up when they were at the separate ways. Hugging before going for their dream as they smiled and let go , waving each other before turn to their ways and go straight.

Time for a really long and unnecessary ramble which I still feel compelled to write nonetheless.

Let's see:

1) It just feels so natural. It's nothing overly flashy, superficial, or whatever like Contestshipping where Drew sometimes gets overly sweet and gives her Roses. Also, it's a relationship built on trust and mutual respect and a desire to really help each other. I mean take Pokeshipping: Misty is supportive of Ash no doubt about that but sometimes she'll do stuff just to annoy him. Mostly its playful but I can't imagine a relationship built around that going very well. Contestshipping: Well first of all, Drew is not around enough to make it look like it could really grow into a strong relationship. Also, I couldn't help but hate Drew when I first saw him: Be such a jerk, then he gives her Roses (WTF?!?!). Granted as the series went on I started getting a bit more...respect, I suppose for Drew when he looked more like Gary in that he wasn't a totally insensitive bastard and actually was willing to help, but still the damage was done and while Drew might have some feelings for May and possibly vice versa, what's Drew done for May that Ash hasn't done more so? (Aside from the roses, I'm gonna wait for Ash to pull out a bouquet of flowers for May some day)

2) I think that having AG be the first Pokemon series that I actually watched kinda helps :P. Well, that's not 100% true. I saw some bits of the original series but I don't know, it was kinda cool at the time but I got bored and stopped, especially considering how Ash was just a little kid. Then I saw AG001 and I couldn't help but take a liking to May. In some other episodes, I liked how Ash was more mature and grew on me. Plus May didn't always get mad at him like Misty (Not saying she always did though), and I can't say how, but it looked to me like Ash actually seemed like he may be interested back in May. Heck, I never finished AG and it already got me into it enough to like it.

3) The fanbase and fan works. I find that I prefer Advanceshipping art and fanfiction much better than any other shipping. Granted, I still respect things like Poke and Pearlshipping and sometimes I randomly browse through but I feel a bit more...connection with Advanceshipping if that makes sense. It seems so natural and, dare I say it, so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! Heck, even when I read Poke and Pearl fics I couldn't help but grind my teeth a bit when May was mentioned. I think I'm at the point where I can't read a Pokemon fic with Ash and May in it and not have some Advanceshipping. Oh and I'm not ashamed to admit that I had this big stupid grin on my face when I saw the "Love Story" Advanceshipping AMV.

4) The other fanbases. This is just a bit more...well, not sure how to describe it but oh well. Basically, I can't help but somewhat dislike the other fanbases, namely Poke and Contest. While I randomly browsed about after learning "omg there's actually a fanbase for relationships like these?!" I took a look at Pokeshipping to see what some of my friends thought was so great about it. Well, lets just say that I lost some respect for those shippings. Granted, I highly doubt the bulk of those communities are really like that but I mean, fanart making Ash look like a complete jerk, immature bashful comments on fanarts and videos about Advanceshipping (Which was still my favorite), "Kill Advanceshipping" messages and fanarts. Just no. I mean yes I'm a big big fan of Advanceshipping and its unfair to judge on superficial details but first impressions left deep marks on me and I couldn't help but feel some resentment for the communities of the rival ships for Advanceshipping (except Pearlshipping and the more minor ones). I respect rival opinions for my viewpoint in any issue, but I have no respect for communities that just give no respect whatsoever. Now I wouldn't be surprised if the ADV community had people like that and I'm certain other communities have nicer people on them but first impressions leave some marks.

Truth be told, I don't brood over Advanceshipping 24/7 and I do other things, but I can't help but keep it in the back of my mind when I'm finished with more pressing matters.

There are so many reasons, but I'll just stick witha few. For one, Advance series was my cup of tea, because Ash's character was absolutely legit. Put that in with the fact May is also an awesome character makes me think, yeah, that's the girl. Before I became an advanceshipper, my allegiance to an Ash shipping was fairly weak, since I had NO effing idea which one I liked better. However, what had sold me the fact that I love advanceshipping was my first fic, where it was originally supposed to be just the Blaziken and Sceptile. However, as I worked with it, I really liked how advanceshipping worked, so I stuck with it, and never turned back. I also find that advanceshipping is the least mainstream of all the shipping couples that include Ash in them. Also, if you tried asking me why I'm loyal, I'd just gush for 20 mins and try to shove my opinion down your throats.

But in all seriousness, I think is because I'm not really into romance in general. Advanceshipping is really the only thing romance wise that I'm interested in. I just recently started picking up a few other pairs, but they'll never be as significant.

Plus (As much as I hate to say this) Advanceshipping seems to be the underdog of Ash shippings at the moment. I typically find myself rooting for the underdog.

Everyone else has really hit all the nails right on their heads, but I think it is worth repeating and agreeing. The Advanced Gen. series itself was fantastic, which certainly helps. Ash and May as characters individually were also nicely developed throughout AG, which I think contributed to how they interacted with one another a lot. That helped to seal the deal for me. I love how compatible Ash and May are with one another, and seeing them interact, whether it's a full-blown hint interaction or just a simple conversation, never fails to make me smile.

The Advanceshipping community itself is also a wonderful group of people. Having a group of people who all like and support the same pairing you do makes it so much better! Something unique I've noticed is how diverse the Advanceshippers are compared to other shippings from other fandoms. Most people I've met through fanfiction.net and other sites who are active shippers are 9 times out of 10 female, but there seems to be a good balance between male and female Advanceshippers in our little slice of the internet. Our community is definitely another thing that keeps me as a supporter.

And, of course, writing fanfiction has helped keep it alive for me as well, especially now that May is no longer in the main cast. Thinking up new scenarios and stories makes it feel like she never left, and that her and Ash's relationship is still developing and growing behind the scenes.

I guess in general, I just haven't lost interest in it. Advanceshipping is easily my OTP. Most people have said that the reason why they stopped supporting or have become less active in the community is because they just lost interest in Pokemon and/or shipping, they've "outgrown it," etc. But that hasn't happened to me yet, and at this point I don't think it will, lol :)

Ah...can't believe I forgot that. Maybe not necessarily writing fanfiction but running scenarios through my head is just something that I find really fun. Especially for ADV.

Because, after years of seeing pictures of Ash hugging May and stuff like that, it just seems wrong to see fanart of other Ash ships. Very wrong.

Not really. I support them because they go well with each other. If I identified with Ash, then maybe May would be the 'dream girl' but I don't.

Not really. The reason why I support it is because it is so very compatible, and the rest of the pairings aren't really an eye catcher for me.
