Do you have a personal favorite author that you take inspiration from that writes Advanceshipping fanfics?

Pikamaster ADV..And there was this one author on Serebii that made my jaw drop. Shame I don't remember her name...She wrong a fic about May writing Ash a love letter and asking him to meet her. Was adorabubbles

I don't see why not, just make sure it makes sense to people who haven't read it.

On another note...

I'd like to suggest a rule, it just came to mind.

The contestants should not receive any outside help, no beta readers or anything.

Yeah I think we can add that as a rule to keep everything fair.

I would like to make a suggestion and alter this rule just one bit. Since it seems a lot of authors have never written before that would like to participate, i say we make an exception for them. They can receive help for their fic from others.

Only those who have a story with 100 reviews or more or at least 5 stories posted on ff.net should not be allowed to receive help. Does that sound good? Cuz yeah i don't plan on asking for help but i still wanna see some quality fics come out of this.

I haven't written any fanfic yet (am working on one r8 now). But Pikamaster ADV and LuciferIX are my favorite authors. I haven't read any new fanfics, so I am not familiar with any new writer, including those active here. But I've got reason to believe that you guys (all of you writers here) are good as well.

I don't kid. Advanceshipping authors are the fucking best there is. Gengar himself with his stories has more originality than most shipping fics that have come out this year. Btw welcome new people. Dont mind me. No other advanceshipper here talks nearly as much shit as i do. Actually i think only the writers can tolerate me lol But yeah feel free to join. If they allow helping ill be glad to help you.

Geez, I've been gone for a while. Well, I'm a bit too busy with my other fics right now, so I wish the rest of you all luck in the challenge!

Um...there are quite a few. LuciferIX, Midnightmoon602, and Gerbilftw are three of the greats. Although for some reason, two of them retired a little bit after I started writing. Elite4james was the first writer I actually found, and his fic inspired my first fic, "League of Ultimates." PikamasterADV is another one of my favs. As well, The Shiny Gengar usually has written very exceptional pieces of Advanceshipping. There are others as well, but I just can't think of them right now.

I haven't read any new fanfics, so I am not familiar with any new writer, including those active here. But I've got reason to believe that you guys (all of you writers here) are good amazing as well.

New comer! YES! I'm glad to have more people around! It just getting better and better :)

Anyway.... I'm such a terrible writer at least! Hope you guys don't criticize me too much for my grammar though. xD!

Yes, that's so true. I've looked at other shipping fan art (including Poke and Pearl) Not typically they just aren't as good, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an advanceshipper.

And yes, Suzu's art is amazing, along with the person who did the chibi style art.

I'm also totally agreed! I love advanceshipping pics.Most of them were pure cute and amazing as well!

1) Entries should relate to the theme (wishes) in some way
2) The entries must be one-shots, no more than 5k words
3) 1 entry per contestant
4) Deadline for entries May 29
5) Unless other wise specified, contestants may not receive any help from others. This includes beta reading.

Lol sorry i meant AS authors are better than other shipping authors. And i just looked at Suzu. I didnt know her name but i love her art!!!

Oh yeah and since i noticed that a lot of people seem to favor some authors ive talked to in the past, heres a little treat for those entering.

I may not have what they said word for word but ill do my best. Here are some quick nuggets i got from them.

S. Muffin[She is the best at getting the point across in a story with the least amount of words] Don't Post your stories right away. Leave them out for a few days because you may want to edit something later. Also read a story from your favorite author and kind of get used to their writing style(I forgot how she reworded it. Maybe she can come out of lurking and edit this herself lol) Also Fiction factor helps alot

Wings of Rain/Princess of Hoenn[One of the best in detail and emotion] Listen to music with the emotion you want to have in your story for 10 minutes while you take a walk. After that, get on and keep typing just to get the momentum. Doesnt matter what you type, just build up the habit and make edits later.

Gerbilftw[Best in action,drama and pissing people off by not updating sooner lol] If you plan on making Ash or someone act ooc, make sure something happened to them beforehand that made them act that way. Make sure to avoid controversial topics like religion,politics etc. Dont want to offend the readers(I didn't listen.....)

Midnightmoon602[Best in Plot and emotion] "Your reader won't know where the characters are, what their doing, what is suppose to be going on, what's going to happen next etc. As a writer you want to paint a picture into your readers mind, MAKE THEM SEE WHAT YOU SEE. Write as much as there is needed to make sure they understand what is happening in the story. BECOME YOUR CHARACTER, FEEL WHAT THEY ARE THINKING, FILL THEIR SHOES, PLAY THEIR LIFE. "

Thats all i can really think of at the moment. they may not be as accurate as what they told me but thats the gist of what they told me or what i can remember at the moment. Since we cant ask for assistance for the contest i decided to be like whatever and post this up for anyone that wants to take thier favorite authors' advice.

I don't think I've been around long enough to say I've been "kept in". But I'd say the fanfiction, and whenever I read to re-energize I look at fanart. Once I guess a new laptop, maybe I watch the advance generation again... idk.

Well,actually I thought it was boring at first last year.I mean that last year I quit from being advanceshipper(Not sure though) and go to do something else.

But after that,after I have a lots of free time.I had nothing to do so I search Advanceshipper again.

Then I looked after fanfiction,re-watch pokemon(Some episode of Diamond,black-white,etc.(Almost every seasons),pictures then I realize even it was about 4 or 5 years had passed.Ash and May still look cute for each other so I came back to being advanceshipper once again and try to find advanceshippping comics as many as I can.

I think that's it for me.That's why I came back then soon after I checked my own old fics(2 years ago) I then realize that 1 of my story was good!(Whoa!) Grammar was better than I expected! So I guess,I'll give it a try this time.

Fanfics and fanart. Whenever I get out of it, I just re-read that same fic you've heard me talk about thousands of times and I get right back into it.

Also, it looks like I'll be sitting out of the one-shot contest, as I'm really starting to get into Adaptation.
