omg now I *HAVE* to watch this movie! I am going to have an Advanceshipping weekend. Total Ash x May immersion. Maybe I'll finally finish the next chapter for my fic, too. Advanceshipping movies are nourishment for the soul <3

And man, I went through 30 pages! <333 Movie eight was awesome :)

I know, seriously. That is not a plausible argument in my view at all. Out of all the Water Pokemon out there, they chose Luvdisc? When Ash and May were swimming on their own whilst gazing at each other? If Max or Brock were there to ruin the scene then yes, maybe it was just coincidence, but I don't buy that theory at all.

The other ships are just jealous D=< That's what I thought as well, the only time they looked away from each other was to avoid hitting into a rock, and to check out the luvdiscs. May smiled knowingly at Manaphy when they came :D You sly woman~

Oh, btw, DD, I watched movie 9 again yesterday and noticed the campfire scene you brought up in the old thread during the credits. May sure did have a knowing smile on her face. Reminds me of that one episode in Hoenn where she said "You'll understand when you're older, Ash!".

^^ It was a cute scene :3 I liked how May was staring at Ash UNTIL he asked her the question.

Maybe it went:

Ash (Jokingly): Heh, I almost thought that you liked me!

May: He'll never know...Baka...

Well, thanks Rocker and DD (glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't approve of Lucario-mania). Now I'm going to have to hunt down movie 8 and admire those scenes with my own eyes. Oh, AG, you had the best movies 'cause of Advanceshipping (I'm not biased at all) <3

Oh yes, I love the AG movies, not because they have those awesome ADV hints, nor because it had May flinging herself at Ash or the other things involving Ash and May. They were awesome by themselves...

This is the problem all Ash ships face - they have Ash in them. Ash and his density level of enormous proportions ;.;

guys, i just read a shoujo comic in mangafox.com *i forget the title*. and there's a dialog about the girl and her friend: "if a boy said that he want to protect a girl, it means he loved her"
and it make me remember how ash always protect may.
and, as Dd said, in movie 8 Ash wear hero costume and May wear princess costume. hero always protect his princess,right? (and it make me remember about "hayate the combat butler" anime)

But Hayate doesn't love Nagi, which moots that quote.

And, do you know that the ending song of movie Destiny Deoxys named Lovely Yume Miru Lovely boy? I think it can support advanceshipping. Just search the meaning and you will know what I mean. (But,I think I have posted it in the old thread before)

Any girl will love it when a guy swears to do all he can to protect her. Unless the girl is the ultra-feminist type. So Ash saving and protecting May could lead to or already has led to May developing feelings of love for Ash.

I think May's a little torn when it comes to Ash trying to save her. Of course she loves the romanticism of such a thing, as I believe she's alluded to at many points throughout the anime, but conversely she doesn't want Ash to get hurt, which is why she tries to stop him, too. Like reaching out her hand to stop him from closing the capsule on her in movie 9, or rushing to calm him down in movie 7.

I particularly loved that scene in movie 7 because it returned Ash to his Kanto-style roots, and he got a little hot-headed. May's such a calming influence on him, though, so it's all good <3 Perfect match, I say, perfect match!

And, i just remember a reason why i love advanceshipping. It's because when i look at indonesian wikipedia, i see may's biography. It say that may was one of ash's friend and his girlfriend. And it say that misty has a crush with brock too. At first i was shocked but happy *because i don't like misty*. And there are a lot of indonesian blog say like that.

Yeah. I definitely agree. May is there to calm Ash down, and Ash is always there to comfort her. They're the different sort of ying and yang, though they're not polar opposites, one definitely cannot live without the other.

Without Ash, where would May be now? Trying to work out why Torchic won't use ember, when she's screaming mushroom? Would she have discovered her passion for Pokemon and Contests? I think not.

Without May, would Ash had his first taste of maturity? May gave Ash a chance to grow up, she was his first chance of actually giving and not taking information. Previously, it was always Brock and Misty guiding him step by step, with May, he was able to take her hand (NoreallyAshholdherhand) and lead her to the right direction.

That probably triggered his protective instinct, and that's why he always wants to be her savior.

You know, I had never really thought about the effect that May's made on Ash in that much depth, but you're definitely right. May was the first time Ash ever had anyone looking up to him for guidance on a consistent basis, so he really had to step up to the plate and mature for her sake. Aww, that's so cute ^^

Your analogy is very true; their complimentary natures are very much like a ying and yang - they fill the gaps and one's strengths make up for the other's weaknesses. I've never thought that "opposites attract" ever held true for a long-lasting relationship, but since Ash and May are both so closely aligned in natures, values, and even lifelong goals, I think they'll definitely have an unending chemistry and will be commited for life.
