You see, May didn't want Ash to only have the split ribbons, so she sent her bandanna to him as a memento. Ash decided to have it made into swimming trunks, she her head would be close to his-

I'm slightly dumbfounded anyone would consider Max traveling with Ash and May an Advanceshipping nod on behalf of Norman. Norman wanted to let Max travel the world so he can learn more about Pokemon (which he loved, unlike his sister), and since Ash was an experienced traveler, he thought it best to let him tag along as well. If Max was a covert ploy of Norman to stop any sexual advances between Ash and May, it fundamentally destroys the fact that Norman believed Ash was trustworthy enough to watch over May as she traveled - why give someone your trust if you're going to send along a spy of sorts to travel with them and watch out for anything?

Despite being an AdvanceShipper, I have to agree with Sonic Boom. If Norman sent Max to be with Ash and May solely for the purpose to keep them from being \too\ close, that would just mean he doesn't trust Ash. And that would be a bad thing on our side.

And to ease the tension, SCREENIES!

Aww. Ash really does care for May. ;-)

I think Dawn thinks that May likes Ash. I mean her expression just gives it away.

I wouldn't be surprised... Dawn seems to have one of those looks that seem to scream realization... or it could be admiration of Ash/May.... Of course, the way you take that means SOMETHING... What it is, you'll never find out...

Actually, the expression looks more wistful. And by wistful, I mean she's looking at two friends recounting good memories, and probably wondering if she'll have similar memories further down her journey.
