Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
Personally, I admire Midori Harada's work. His art is just so well defined and it makes me look at the cards for minutes. Another great artist I like is Mitsuhiro Arita. (I'm not sure about the spelling of his name.)
SO how about you? Who's your fave TCG illustrator?
Re: Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
I've always held a soft spot for Sumiyoshi Kizuki's work... it's simply so original. There aren't really many Pokémon artists whose work I don't admire, to be honest. It's all so different, aside from that of Kouki Saitou, who seems to try as hard as he can to imitate Sugimori's artwork.
But yeah, a lot of it's really good.
Re: Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
Ken Sugimori, kawayoo, match, and sui.
EDIT: I like Harada's map art, but when it's a non-detailed thing such as a Pokemon, it's not as admirable.
Re: Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
Kouki Saitou has to be my favorite. He draws the Pokemon in a way that stays true to Ken Sugimori's design, but is able to breathe more life into them than Sugimori's usually static art. I like most of the cards illustrated by kawayoo, match, and Masakazu Fukuda as well.
Re: Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
Easily Shin-Ichi Yoshida. Created masterpieces such as Rocket's Zapdos and Typhlosion from Neo Genesis.
Re: Who's your favorite TCG illustrator?
Kouki Saitou, definitely. Just look at that Enbuoh... it's a masterpiece, I tell you!
I also love Sugimori's TCG-exclusive artwork. Especially on Supporters and such.
