    Default What is Charizard worth?

I have Charizard from Base Set 1 and 2 (not worth so much), but what is the 1st Edition Charizard worth?
Captain Lincoln Stern, you stand here accused of...
12 counts of murder in the first degree
14 counts of armed theft of Federation property
22 counts of piracy in high space
    18 counts of fraud
    37 counts of rape
and 1 moving violation....how do you plead?

Well, according to the September 2007 issue of Beckett Pokemon Collector magazine, the values of the Bases Set and Base Set 2 Charizard cards are:

First Edition Base Set: $50 to $100

Unlimited Base Set: $10 to $20

    Base Set 2: $8 to $15

I don't really know how accurate Beckett is, though. I looked up the Unlimited Charizards on eBay a few months ago, and there wasn't a single one that was bid up to more than $5. And I've never seen the Base Set 2 ones sell for more than $5, not even back when Charizard was the hottest card around.

Man, I remember when the unlimited version used to be worth hundreds...

Yes, me too. But the BS1 has been worth less, used to be over $50, but now it $25-30. And as you say, maybe only $10-20.
So maybe the 1stE went down as well.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to say for sure. The Beckett magazine is the most up-to-date printed price guide I could find, but I think the best way to get an accurate idea of what it might sell for is to look it up on eBay, and see what the highest it's actually going for is.

But what about the Charizard from Legendary Collection? How much is the unlimited one from that set worth?

I never received one from Base Set 1 or 2, so that's why I was surprised to get one from the Legendary Collection set.

The legendary collection was't around a while, so it'd probably be the rarest version...

I NEVER got my own Charizard. :(

As far as I know the print run for Legendary Collection was quite long.

Anyway LC Charizard, are you talking about the non-holo one from the theme deck? If so, my guess would be about $5.00 nowadays not nearly as much compared to Base Set 1 Charizard.

But heck, those don't go for very much anymore, I got one about a year ago for $10 on eBay. Nobody wants them except for collectors (and most collectors have them already) as they were rotated long ago.

No, that's not what I meant....

I have the holo Charizard from Legendary Collection.

I actually got lucky, and pulled that one from a pack, lol. XD

Lisa, according to my magazine, the Legendary Collection one is worth between $8 and $17 for the regular holo, and between $16 and $34 for the reverse holo. The non-holo one from the Lava theme deck isn't listed.
