Unlimited vs Modified Format VISUAL difference???
I am collecting old cards from the Neo era and realized that they offer both an unlimited (cheaper) booster box and non-unlimited booster box (more expensive). Since I don't play the TCG and just collect, I want to know if there is a VISUAL difference between unlimited and modified format cards???
Also, what makes the unlimited cards cheaper?
Thanks.

I believe that the non-unlimited box is 1st edition packs (denoted by a symblo just below the bottom left corner of the picture) 1st edition cards are far rarer
Re: Unlimited vs Modified Format VISUAL difference???
You're getting tournament styles and card print styles different. I see you're looking for card print styles.
Let's take Charizard for example. The first card is a first edition Charizard, the second a shadowless Charizard, and the third an unlimited Charizard.

Note that the first edition has an 'EDITION 1' symbol. Shadows will occur on Neo era first edition cards, however, as shadows were already decided upon. Therefore, only first edition and unlimited runs exist for Neo era cards.
Unlike Base Set, the only asthetic change to Neo era cards is if a first edition stamp is present. For most casual collectors, unlimited run cards are suitable. For hardcore collectors, first edition is desired.
Re: Unlimited vs Modified Format VISUAL difference???
Matt put it best. "Modified" refers to what sets are currently legal for competitive play. "Unlimited" is a style of play where all sets are legal, but it can also refer to a style of card that is non-1st-edition.
1st Edition cards Base Set through Neo Destiny have a small stamp to the lower left of the picture.
