Default The mystery of the BW Stadium card

A little bit of history on the subject, and some new information.

As many of you are aware, the TCG has entered the Black and White era, with one set now released internationally, and a second set releasing July 15 in Japan. However, one specific card type that has not been seen yet: Stadium cards, now known as Trainer-Stadium cards.

Stadium cards were first introduced in the Gym series to tie in the Pokémon Gym aspect of the games into the TCG. Since then, the idea of Stadium cards has changed, with numerous TCG-exclusive Stadiums existing.

So why haven't any been released in the BW era yet? No one knows for sure. One idea is that the use of the previous Stadium card, Lost World, in the popular Lostgar deck caused The Pokémon Company to rethink the concept of Stadiums. The card was being used as a tool to get players a quick win, sometimes without opponent ever attacking. Seeing the momentum this card gained, TPC could have feared a loss of money from everyone wanting a few cards, with thousands more not getting bought.

All hope, though, is not lost. One BW-era Stadium card is known to have been created, though may have not yet been printed: Pokémon Center.

A card that hasn't been seen since before Ruby and Sapphire's release, this card was first sighted on October 31, 2010, in a rulebook for the BW era.

Each player removes 1 damage counter each of his or her Benched Pokémon at the end of his or her turn.

Within the past few days, a much larger image of the card has been discovered in Korean, via a similar rulebook. (Warning, large image; 752px by 1,045px)

How will we know if this card will ever get released? We must wait anxiously until the third Black and White set in Japan, and see if it will include any of our beloved Stadium cards.

they'll come. they wouldnt just edit the rules for them, then throw them out the window... they are to big a part of the game. And from what ive seen/heard Lostgar decks havent exactly panned out as expected.

In Japan, Lostgar was good. Stateside, no so much.
