Despite the name, this has nothing to do with twisting and squeezing my opponent until they simply can't take any more; rather, it is a mixture of cards from Recon and Retort with a few cards thrown in.
Before I list the cards, I should point out that this deck is not intended to be played competitively as such (since it would get completely crushed). Rather, it is a deck to play against my friends who also have a couple cards to play around with. I will also mention that I can only really employ cards from Call of Legends, with two exceptions; Pokemon Collector (came with the theme decks) and Double Colourless energy (I presume my base-set prints are legal?)
So without further ado, let's look at the cards! I imagine the first thing to change is the large number of Pokemon, 30! This can easily be reduced somewhat to make way for some more (Call of Legends) supporters.
Pokemon (30! 16 basics!)
4x Tangela CL72
3x Tangrowth CL34
3x Chikorita CL53
2x Bayleef CL40
2x Meganium CL27
1x Leafeon CL13
4x Mareep CL63
2x Flaaffy CL43
2x Ampharos CL23
2x Jolteon CL45
3x Eevee CL56
2x Zangoose CL39
4x Pokemon Communication HS98
3x Interviewer's Questions CL79
4x Professor Elm's Training Method CL82
3x Professor Oak's New Theory CL83
6x Grass Energy
6x Lightning Energy
4x Double Colourless Energy
As I said above, the first change I expect to be mentioned is a reduction in Pokemon numbers and an increase in T/S/S. As a final question, to make this deck remotely competitive (and so leave the shackles of Call of Legends) would the deck need a complete overhaul, or can I build on this structure? I know Tangrowth and Leafeon Lv. X cards exist...

Looks like you have the right idea. However, you're going to want to run a lot fewer Pokemon and a lot more T/S/S. Do you have any Pokemon Collector, Bebe's Search, Expert Belt, and Broken Time-Space to add to the deck? All of those would be valuable additions.
