Thread: Black and White TCG: Theme Decks

Just wanted to start a thread discussing the new pre-made decks for sale.

I have to say, I'm not entirely pleased with them, but I'm not unhappy. I love all of the new cards and I love seeing all the new Pokémon in card format - I think it's awesome because me and my boyfriend are massive card freaks (he spent £64 on the BW Preview Tins, the World of Illusions box and a bunch of booster packs). Anyways... needless to say, we bought the new decks as soon as possible and it was wonderful.

My only main problems so far with them have been:
- what's the point of having Pansear and Simisear in one deck, Panpour and Simipour in one deck, but only Pansage in the third deck? Where the hell is my Simisage?!
- the new damage counters, while I'm happy that the 50 counter has made a wonderful return, they are so freaking small!! It was near impossible to use them because they were just so damn finicky!!
- the new playmats are so condensed that you practically have to stack your Prize Cards and there are only room for FOUR Pokémon on the Bench!! The diagram at the back is so screwed up and disproportioned it is unbelievable - it says there is space for five when there clearly is not!!

Anways, so, yeah, those are my peeves about the new decks. Beyond that, I'm loving the cards themselves, I'm loving all the artwork (so far) and I cannot wait for the main set to come <3

For You To Buy The Tins/Boosters To Find One

I got one with a Promo Tepig, Pidove, Lillipup, Patrat, Purrloin, Sandile and a Pack of HS Undaunted, a Pack of HS Triumphant and 2 packs of Call of Legends. I got CoL Dialga, No. 3/95. I'm happy :) Serebii don't even have a scan of the Dialga, but unfortunately, I don't have a scanner :)

I don't buy theme decks, they're so boring and you're really just losing money... Meh. Yeah, it's stupid that they didn't put Simisage in. TBH I don't really care, though. You know what you're buying, don't act surprised when you open the deck and there's no Simisage in it. xD

As for the damage counters, again... doesn't phase me. Use dice, so much better.

I was shocked when a guy at my local store told me that I was the only one who brought a Red Frenzy deck; as with Cincinno in it, I thought everyone would buy it. Green Tornado is all right as far as starter decks are concerned (Serperior is a beast), but Blue Assault? Terrible.

I was annoyed that the mats weren't redesigned to have a full bench - none of the mats have.

I have never actually played the TCG, only collect the cards :O
It sounds quite good,just nobody to play with.

TCG Online will help with that this summer.

And It Says Take 7 Cards when you can only have 5 WTF?

Draw 7 cards at the start, and out of those 7 cards, you place 1 active Pokémon and up to 5 Pokémon on the bench.

Just buy the Emboar deck, and a couple of Reshiram tins and you're good to go xD. I've been taking cards out, and adding better stuff in, and my decks really cool now.

It, plus any other cards you don't play on your bench, e.g., Trainers and Energy, are kept in your Hand where you can play them on one of your turns.

On the back of the game mat is the rule book.
