Dreams of electric Bulbasaur
XD soars below the clouds
After Emerald's high first day sales, its a bit of a pity that Pokemon XD has achieved little in comparison, not making it in to the UK Top 20 games sales after its first day (notably due to low Gamecube sales). It did however manage to top the Gamecube charts after day 1, which is something to credit it for! Click here to view the charts.

May the Aura be with you.
The trouble is that it's done so badly in reviews for being a repeat of Pokémon Colosseum. This is really what Genius Sonority should have released the first time round.

I never played Pokemon Colosseum because I didn't know it was ever released in the U.S., but I do enjoy Pokemon XD... I haven't beat it yet because I've been busy with work and school.

If you watch the sales of other GameCube titles, this is basically in line with the system's trends - game sales are dropping significantly across the board from year to year. Generally I attribute this to dropping third party support and Nintendo's ever-worsening image.

I can see one exception... We've still got the big one in february.
But at the moment, Colosseum extended is only going to please us fans, and not bring in casual buyers who aren't going to spend their money on it when in their eyes they already bought it once.

Twilight Princess may or may not outsell Wind Waker - especially since TP might get lost in the Revolution hype.

A LOZ game getting lost in the hype of anything else is sort of hard to imagine, though - much as with a main (numbered) FF getting lost in the hype (or, on a smaller scale, a main Pokémon Game getting lost in the hype). They have their own hype and momentum to begin with.
Though yeah, selling less than WW is a distinct possibility.
