Well, NoA is just one giant Slowpoke (as well as one giant slowpoke) when it comes to the games.
The word "quadragonal" is the only word with "dragon" in it where "dragon" is not a root word. That makes it awesome.

I too am a little disappointed that this was just localization/dubbing stuff. I actually thought it was something new. Very misleading indeed.
Oh well, glad it's being officially acknowledged outside of Japan.
I'm hoping the keep the name of the anime as "Best Wishes"... it sounds like silly engrish but it's actually extremely relevant to the game's story and relevant to the cartoon show (besides keeping the initials "Black and White")
Ultimately, I serve only one master... pure logic.

So I guess Season 13 is only going to be 34 episodes? I wonder if Cartoon Network was aware of this when they greenlit the season?
It's not just simple script translation they have to worry about. Pokemon games probably have the most proper nouns of any video game franchise around, and NoA has the daunting taks of carefully choosing names that will be used for the rest of the franchise's life. They have to go through each pokemon (all 150+ of them), human, town, attack, ability, and item name, one by one, and copyright each and every term. They then have to go through and make sure they don't mix any of these names up with the other thousand or so terms being carried over from previous games.Originally Posted by Zodiac
There's also the matter of getting the North American servers up and running and making sure all the online stuff is ready to go by the games' release.
This all takes time, and six months or so is actually a pretty quick turnaround considering all they have to do.
There's nothing misleading about the article at all, providing you actually take the time to sit down and read it.Originally Posted by dman dustin

It sure sounds like they decided to start BW in Season 14 rather than the middle of Season 13 - which I prefer to be this way
I'd still like to wait and see the first BW ep listed as 1401 in the official site before I'm being sure of that though
I wonder if now that means other countries like Israel might get Season 13 sooner since if that's right, there are only about 10 eps left till the season's end in the US

now all we need are the EXACT dates...... and english names.
The wind howls...The rain pours...A figure appears in the darkness...The Minryu approaches..............
Think of how they say "Best Wishes" in the anime- "Bestu Isshu". :p
So the Engrish was of saying it actually gives us the region name AND we get BW theme naming.
Seriously, this statement was released in September, and this is only the first we're hearing of it? Ohz well. I wish it gave more exact dates...

So you decide to go onto Bulbapedia/news and the title says: "New Pokemon Game, new movie, and new television season set to launch in 2011"
Why would the first thought in your head be localization/dubbing stuff?
I mean maybe you can argue "movie" meant the Zoroark movie and go from there, but with the capabilities of the 3DS and is coming out soon (like four months in Japan), I sort of thought that maybe they were doing a special Pokemon movie for the 3DS, that maybe didn't even involve Ash and co.
Likewise with the initial look at "New television season" granted season should've tipped me off, but it almost sounded like it meant a Pokemon "series" not related to Ash and Pikachu (for whatever reason the Japanese would actually do that).
Sure when you actually read the article, and the tag that says that the article was made late (unless that was removed recently) was the only time I was like "Oh, this stuff, okay moving on to something new."
You can also blame me for thinking something, but looking at some other posts, I'm not the only one who got "misled" or was thinking of something different.
But they are new... in the eyes of America. I can see both points, and from reading the article, I do have to go agree with you, but to an extent. Maybe rename it to include "in America" at the end?

I also was really surprised and excited when I saw this thread's title... it IS a little misleading till you read the thread/article... they could better write the title to make it clear what it's about (like "BW games & anime + Zoroark Movie set to launch in 2011 in the US")
I'm not complaining or anything, just saying I can see how dman dustin and others could find it misleading and kind of disappointing (thinking we might get details about some brand new games/anime and then seeing it's just the English version release... and even on that we didn't get too much details)
Not the first time something like this has happened. I wouldn't mind some more specification in the future, but it's nothing to freak over about, guys.
