Gamestop Keldeo event announced: Distribution begins August 27

No the ones near me are totally oblivious as well. Looks like it has been confirmed Europe will have Game and Gamestation releases, apparently there are enough stores left in the UK to do it.

I know one near me still open, doubt it will run the event though. WE NEED WIFI

Also how dumb that it runs out the day before BW2 are released. Why can't it be like Liberty Ticket and open as soon as the games are released, will there be another distribution for players of BW2 at a later date?

Also if as often happens, I receive my game a few days early, will I be able to download this Keldeo with it?

I guess some of you are right, it would make more sense to release the event during the English release of the 15th Movie rather than before the release of BW2, as those games have an area that allow Keldeo to enter its Resolution form. But maybe there could be another Keldeo event like there was two Victini events (the first was for the Liberty Ticket and the second for the 14th movie). My theory is that releasing one Keldeo for the release of BW2 and a second for the movie.

Why does it say in my article select Gamestop stores????? The US Pokemon.com says participating Gamestop stores.

Doesn't this also activate another event in Black and White where Keldeo learns a move?

Yes. You're supposed to take it to the Moor Of Iccirus with Cobalion, Tekrrizon, and Virizion. It will learn Secret Sword.

What are people complaining so much? We are getting Keldeo earlier than EVERYONE expected! Yes, it's not on Wi-Fi, and you're surprised??? Keldeo is a debutting Pokemon. Why would it be over Wi-Fi??
Am I one of the only ones that are amazed we are getting Keldeo in the US, before the Japanese events ends? Am I one of the only ones that is amazed that this event will be active for OVER A MONTH? When Darkrai debuted, it's event was only a weekend, Shaymin's and Arceus's was a week. Now we are getting a debutting Pokemon for over a month! Stop complaining, and look at how far we come!

Yes, look how far we've come. Now instead of geographically isolating people from an event for a whole weekend, they can feel geographically isolated for a whole month!

You realize Wifi events have always lasted longer than these in-store distributions with the potential of reaching more players at the same time right? It doesn't really matter how long you hold the event for if there are geographical barriers preventing more people from accessing it in the first place. These barriers become even more evident when the stores that hold these events, like the ones in the UK, are closing resulting in fewer locations to receive the event. Then there's the fact that these are still only held in select stores, further increasing the barriers.

If they still do this in Gen VI with the 3DS and its capability to handle WPA keys, then I don't really know how you can call this "progress". It's as backwards as Masuda's claim that players can reach each other more through handhelds because it allows us to carry our handhelds everywhere. You know what lets us reach across the globe? The internet. If the spirit of Pokemon is communicating with others, then that spirit is lost if new means of quick and efficient communication is ignored.

Yeah, I can't believe they're still doing this. Of course, they're just desperate attempts to get people to come to the store, unfortunately. But haven't they realized that you don't actually have to be inside the store to receive the Pokemon?

@Therian: Nope, I think this DL is only for the first game, so you'll have to get it, then trade it to BW2 after beating the first gym. Still, if it copies the JP version of the event, I think it's LV 15, so it should fit nicely into your party with their levels at that point... Of course, there is the fact that it is a trade to be considered, so you'd have to be careful and not let it's level get too high too soon without the appropriate Badges. But then, maybe that's actually the reason they're doing it this way...

@smalllady: Gamestop and their people aren't exactly whippy in my experience. It's even sillier for me, and any other native Eurekans, I suppose, since the Gamestop in our mall is right next to the food court; there are tables & chairs outside their store, so a person could sit down comfortably and download Keldeos onto multiple copies.

Incidentally, does anyone know if this event was set up by TPCI to be hosted at Gamestop, or if Gamestop had to pay them to host it, or anything? It just seems odd to me that many of the recent in-person events have been hosted there.
