^I'm talking about the most of popular of Pokemon manga, not manga in general.

@Adamant: That's cool, you own so many volumes! Any word that Pocket Monsters DP has been translated by Chuang Yi?

It hasn't been so far, even though there's like 5 volumes out in Japan. I don't know if they ever will translate it T__T

Grimsg told me the Pocket Monsters series didn't sell very well in Singapore, so I wouldn't bet on it.

As for any information, summaries and pictures, I might work on something when I get time, but in that case it will be done for Pocketmonsters.net, not Bulbapedia.

I made a preview for the series here, however, that should tide you over for now.
    So.

What sort of interaction do the two Red have? Are the boy and girl really called Red and Blue like the previous characters?

Isamu Akai is only nicknamed "Red", so there's only one Red and Red is a clone of Isamu anyway. There is an original character named Blue, but he only appears in the original series. (I think, someone correct me if mistaken.)

I think the mangaka did that because technically the original's names in Japanese differ from the remakes since the games prior to Crystal used the Japanese word for the color/metal rather than the english word. For example, the original Red is called Aka/赤, hence Akai, while "レッド" in FR's title is just "Reddo".

I've always wanted to read this.

Also: I really doubt it's THAT popular. Isn't Adventures the most popular in Japan? I see so much fan art of it.

Everyone WTFed at the fact that the FRLG-Red looks just like Akai-Red, has same name (apparently Anakubo forgot about the fact that Red isn't his real name, his true name "Isamu Akai" is never mentioned again apart from the first chapter) and also comes from Pallet Town. He also has a Clefairy (a "normal" one, though).

    And yeah, same names.

I actually have all the volumes of the original series, but they're in storage back home and I don't feel like buying them again here in Japan just so I can make summaries.

If the interest is there, however, I'd do summaries of the DP stuff.

I like this manga more than any other =(
In Vietnam they published the first 13 volumes and change to Pokemon special =( (it was 2002-2003)
It is popular here with the older readers. Younger ones only know of pokemon special (adventure stories are also easier to like) =((
