    Red face Manga VS. Anime

This is probably a subject which has been
discussed before but I give it a try.

So far I have seen like 270 episodes of the anime
on my computer (there I take them chronological), and some on TV.

But I never read the Manga, but I read that in the Manga the
Pokémon can actually die, and that sound cool I guess.

I don't know where to find the manga, but you guys can
    probably help me?

    - So what's your thought's about the Manga VS Anime perspective?
    - What do you like the most?
    - Is the manga worth reading?
    - Is the story the same? If not, how?

    tl;dr: Manga VS. Anime

First of all, there's dozens of mangas, so calling it "the" manga is not enough to describe it.

Please, tell us which manga you are referring to.

Plus, don't let this get into a bashing thread, or it will be closed.

No, there are over 700+ episodes of the anime IIRC.

But I never read the Manga, but I read that in the Manga the

I'm assuming you're referring to "PokeSpe". Please don't call it "the manga", there are various other Pokemon Manga in the world, you could be referring to Pokemon ReBurst for example. Try to be specific and say "Pokemon Adventures" or "Pokemon Special".

I don't know where to find the manga, but you guys can
    probably help me?
Viz Media translate Pokemon Special and sells it here in America under the name of "Pokemon Adventures". You can find various copies online via Amazon, or you could try the manga section of your local bookstore or library. Books-A-Million for example sells PokeSpe here in my area.

    - So what's your thought's about the Manga VS Anime perspective?
    What perspective?

    - What do you like the most?
I like the plot as well as the interesting twist in the story line and how each trainer has a defining trait or story behind them.

    - Is the manga worth reading?
I'd say so. If you're so curious about the story line and plot we have a thread on other peoples' opinions of it.

    - Is the story the same? If not, how?
    The same to what?

More like too short;did read :P I don't agree with "Manga VS. Anime" arguments in particular, they get a tad too....how do you say, "immature". Not a shot at anyone, but people usually hear that a Pokemon passes away in PokeSpe and goes all "OMGFODMADFG BETTER THAN THE ANIME" without either reading it or understanding the genre behind it. Pokemon Anime is staying the way it is, and I quite personally don't have a problem with that. Death does not equal good story.

I find the Pokemon Special manga a little bit better than the anime, personally.

There feels like greater character development in that manga, and I LOVE how it switches around main characters, instead of just leaving us stuck with Ash like we shall eternally be with the anime. And I get a bit tired of all the filler in the anime.

The art has been really nice since the mid-G/S/C chapters, which I find to be more eye-pleasing than in the anime.

Of course, this is all just opinion, but that's my take on it.

Also, though, comparing the manga and anime are like comparing apples to oranges. They aren't the same thing, nor do they try to be. It's best if you think of them as much like two separate things as possible, to fully appreciate both.

Pokemon manga is much better than the anime, just in the fact that Red is 10 times better than Ash and that the history and timeline acctually make sense (Red acctually grows up, he is not 10 for 15 years) pluse the plot is well thought and the characters have much more intresting story's

I like the anime much better than the manga. I've tried reading the manga, but I got bored after a little while. I like seeing things in animation, and that's the way it'll always be. I like Ash and the other characters in the anime.

Why are you saying no? I just told you how many episodes I have seen this far. D'oh.

Ok, I just read a little from the Pokémon Adventures,
but is Pokémon Special based on the same story as the anime or what?

Like, an adaptation? No, they're two different stories based off the Pokemon games.

There are some other manga based on the anime, though, but not Adventures.

Ok. I think it's Pokémon special I'm reading. The files are named Pokemon Adventures but in the pictures it says Special.
    It might be the same?

I kinda like Red's adventure. He meets the same persons as Ash and stuff.

and Misty is sexy in this manga :D

It is. Special is the original Japanese name for the series.

    Ok. thanks.

Now I know that I'm reading the adventure of Red and it's Pokémon Special.

    It's really exciting.

But is there a manga with Ash's story? I'm just curious.

    Yes. Several.

For example, "The Electric Tale of Pikachu".

[PLEASE NOTE: The specific manga I'm talking about is Pocket Monsters Special by Hidenori Kusaka. Author of topic did not mention a specific manga for pokemon, so I chose this one.]

    Manga VS Anime:
I think the Manga is better, because it is much better written than the anime, in my opinion, and the storyline is more serious than the anime's. I think the current Pokemon Show is aimed mainly at younger kids, while the manga is aimed at an older audience. Ash has been 10 for over 15 years, and it's strange, and... creepy. I like the fact that in PokeSpecial the characters can actually AGE. The story also changes with the regions and games, also changing protagonists instead of using the same ones over and over, keeping the story interesting. One of the most interesting arcs for would be The first part of the Hoenn arc (Ruby and Sapphire games). I'm not going to spoil it for anyone though. ^^ FRLG was also very interesting too, but if anyone is going to read this story, it's best to read it in order because it makes no sense at all if you don't.

Is the Manga worth reading?: YES. Definitely.

No, both are aimed at children. Just because Adventures seems more violent does not mean it's aimed at an older audience.

There are dozens of cartoon shows that have lasted years and the main characters do not age. It's very common, really.
