    Default Roots [Mature One Shot]

WARNING: This fic contains some VERY mature content. Personally, I'd advise you not to read it if you are under sixteen or are easily offended as there is sexual content.

EDIT: Hello there user who is reading this one shot waaaaaaaaaaay after it was first posted - comments are still appreciated!

I'd also like to say, just in case this mistake is made, that the views expressed in this story do NOT reflect my own. Although it is a third person narrative, the narrative still reflects the views of the characters in the story.

Also, I'd like to point out that this is not set in the same universe as Rival's Story, these two stories have nothing to do with one another, let that idea leave your head immediately please.

Additionally, I'd appreciate it if you didn't leave comments calling this smut, I believe those scenes are important to the story, I did not include them for the sake of it. You're entitled to your opinion, but I just want you to know in advance what my response is going to be.

Anyway, here's the story, I hope you enjoy it.

    Roots

Every great man has roots and many of those roots are not so great. John Reeve was a perfect example of this. Today people know him all over the world, but it wasn’t always like this. Once upon a time, the only people who he didn’t know that had heard of him, hated him. John sat by the old oak tree in the field full of daisies and wished things were different. That oak tree was respected, the daisies revered it, there was no questioning its authority or wisdom – he wished people would think the same of him, but people only ever paid attention to the bad things.

Mummy Reeve was never around; she left a long, long time ago. John was six when Mummy left, his younger brother, James, had just been born – basically, she had waited just long enough to get the kid out of here to run off. John sometimes wondered where she ran off to, but it didn’t really matter in the end, she didn’t care about him and that was all that was important. It wasn’t so bad though, it wasn’t like John was alone through his childhood, he always had his brother and Daddy Reeve. Daddy was there for John and James, in a financial sense anyway, he provided for them and he protected them, he did his duty by his sons, but he wasn’t there in an emotional sense. John would never have confided in his father and James would not have either. There was a new Mummy every month, Daddy always had new girlfriends, they’d come to stay for a little while and the two boys would hear them screaming all night and then after a while they’d never see them again.

“What happened?” John would ask every time.

“It didn’t work out,” was Daddy Reeve’s reply, every time, he never elaborated more than that.

James was too young to remember this, it stopped when James was seven and Daddy Reeve found a new wife. John remembered it, of course, he was thirteen before it stopped, it composed most of his childhood. Busty blondes, chewing gum, wearing disgusting outfits made of small amounts of dirty clothes and cheap looking jewellery.

“Ain’t you cute?” remarked a dirty woman with chipped gold, hoop earrings, while pinching John’s cheek.

Women. This is what women were – disgusting. John never liked women, never had one been around for long enough to show him her good side, except Mummy Reeve of course and we all know how that turned out. John had his friends though. His friends and his Pokémon. All the boys loved playing Pokémon, it made them strong. Few of them had anything other than Rattata and Pidgey, but still, it made them strong and John needed to be strong, he didn’t feel like he had adults he could rely on to be strong for him, so he had to be strong for himself.

The other boys grew up and started hanging out with girls and released most of their Pokémon. The ones they didn’t release just became household pets, they didn’t have the same passion for them anymore. John didn’t though, John was different. John fancied himself as something of a collector, he tried to get his hands on as many Pokémon as he possibly could. His intense passion for Pokémon made him popular with the younger boys, they thought he was cool and, more than that, he saw more eye to eye with them than with the boys that were his own age. John was fourteen and hanging out with twelve year olds. John’s popularity with the younger boys made him unpopular with the boys his own age, they made fun of him and bullied him.

“What’s wrong?” taunted Billy Yates, “Can’t you make friends your own age?”

Comments like that really upset John, but he never had the confidence to stand up to them. John was intensely unpopular with the boys his age, but then something strange started happening. Pity. A few girls in his class noticed the bullying and they could see that John was a sweet boy. Everyone in the school knew John as ‘the Pokémon kid’, he had rare Pokémon and he brought them to school with him every day. Eevee, Farfetch’d, Wartortle, he had all kinds of rare gems and what’s more, he was more than happy to let anyone who asked play with them. It was obvious he loved his Pokémon, it was obvious he was just a victim in all this, that he had never deserved it.

“Hey John,” said Emily Drury sweetly after school one day.

John usually walked home alone, today he had his Growlithe out walking next to him.

“Hey,” replied John, unsure of what to do and not wanting to be impolite.

“Is it okay if I walk home with you?” requested Emily.

John could see Emily’s friends hiding round the corner of the building behind her, giggling. Were they playing a joke on him?

    “I guess so,” answered John.

John grabbed Growlithe’s Poké Ball, but Emily stopped him, grabbing his hand to do so.

“Don’t,” she pleaded, “Keep him out, I think it’s sweet.”

John obediently returned the Poké Ball to his belt and returned his hand to his side, but Emily had not let go. He looked to her in confusion, she looked back and smiled. They probably weren’t playing a joke on him, they weren’t around anymore anyway, Growlithe would’ve told John if they were being followed. Maybe Emily actually liked John. John had never had a girlfriend. In fact, he had never been friends with a girl. Most of the boys his age had had girlfriends at some point or another, it was about time he did too. John and Emily walked silently together, holding hands. It wasn’t an awkward silence though, they were comfortable in each other’s company.

John looked to Emily. She looked so grown up. She definitely didn’t look like a child anymore, there was no denying that she had hit puberty. You could see it in her face alone, her light make up was tasteful and it didn’t look wrong like when a mother puts make up on her daughter too early. Her hips and legs were those of a woman. Her breasts had grown to a fairly large size, John could clearly remember this girl being flat chested not that long ago. She wore a stylish short skirt and a low cut top and her handbag hung from the arm that was not holding John’s hand at a fashionable angle.

“Ain’t you cute?” rang through John’s head and he felt the disgusting woman pinching his cheek.

John looked at Emily’s body and could see nothing but the over sexed women who Daddy Reeve used to bring home.

‘She’s a nice girl,’ he told himself, ‘She’s a nice girl and you need to have a girlfriend.’

    “Ain’t you cute?” came again.

John looked at Emily’s low cut top, showing off her newly grown breasts. Disgusting. Emily was a woman now and women were disgusting. John looked down at Emily’s short skirt and saw her legs. Bare, shaven and so sexual. There was no denying that they were nice legs, but they were disgusting. John could feel rage boiling up inside himself.

“John?” asked Emily innocently, “Is something the matter?”

John wanted to tell her it wasn’t, but he couldn’t because it was. The matter was that she was disgusting, she was a woman now and women were disgusting. John tried to listen to what she was saying but he could hear only one thing.

“Ain’t you cute?” over and over again in his head.

    “John?” enquired Emily desperately.

Emily now took hold of John by the shoulders.

    “Please John,” begged Emily.

It was sad really. Emily was such a nice girl and John was such a nice boy, really he was. But what happened next would change both of their lives forever – John snapped.

“You’re disgusting!” snapped John, returned Growlithe to his Poké Ball and ran home.

This was the first time Emily had ever made an effort with a boy. The poor girl’s would never be able to pick up the confidence to do the same again. No matter how much Emily was told she was beautiful when she grew up, she would never be able to forget John Reeve telling her she was disgusting – it came as such a shock, and she thought he liked her. Still, this story isn’t about Emily Drury, this story is about John Reeve.

Inevitably, everyone found out about what happened that day. Emily Drury tried to keep it to herself, but she was too upset by it, it wasn’t long before she told her three closest friends. One of those three girls was a bit of a blabbermouth and couldn’t keep it to herself – telling just two people. Two people was enough for it to quickly become common knowledge though. Emily’s friend now, instead of pitying John, avoided him and gave him funny looks in the corridor. John’s bullying became more intense, people were much harsher to him and no one really tried to stop it.

“You’re disgusting!” people would shout at John in the corridor.

Gay was a common insult too. Everyone knew that Emily Drury was hot, there was no denying that, John Reeve must be gay. That was the natural conclusion.

John became more of a recluse, he valued his Pokémon more and more, he even stopped hanging out with the younger kids so much, they were growing out of Pokémon too. John soon became sixteen and was by far the most knowledgeable person on the topic of Pokémon his age. John gets an offer from a research company to come and work for them, while continuing his education at their independent facility, they even offer him a living wage. John happily agrees and signs a contract with them. That was also when he met David Clark.

David Clark was James Reeve’s friend. Best friend in fact, the pair were inseparable. David was in the house as much as James was, John was sure he had even been there a few times when James had not. John was sixteen, James and David were both ten. John went out to work all day and then came back and James and David begged him to tell them about what happened and to show them all of his rare Pokémon, he even let them borrow them a few times. It would be fair to say, that it quickly became the case that John lived for James and David. John began investing in a place of his own, he had the money now, he was a very successful academic.

One weekend, John suggested that he, James and David went together to a park and brought along all the Pokémon. Naturally, the two young boys were thrilled to have this opportunity. The day was brilliant, John brought a camera along too and you could tell from the dozens of photographs how much fun they had with all the Pokémon. Until the day he died, John Reeve would say this was one of the most enjoyable days of his life. David and James definitely thought the same and it was most certainly one of the most enjoyable days of their lives, but as they grew up they would slowly deny more and more, first how much they enjoyed the day and then, later, that they consented to go at all.

After this, John finally manages to gather enough money together to get his own place and it couldn’t happen quickly enough. John hated it at home, the only thing he liked about his home was that James and David were there all the time. John had grown to hate his father, he hated the man for what he had done to him. At the age of seventeen, almost eighteen, John still had had no physical contact with a girl whatsoever, apart from, of course, holding Emily Drury’s hand three years before hand. John also hated his father’s new wife, she really tried to be James and John’s mother, but that just wasn’t her place. In truth, the woman just pitied the poor children, she couldn’t imagine growing up without a mother, she just wanted to do right by them, James really appreciated her and loved her, but that just made John hate her all the more. John and his step-mother’s relationship became incredibly strained. All in all, John couldn’t wait to move out.

John didn’t move far. He couldn’t move far because of his contract with the research company that he had signed. He also hoped that James and David would still come and visit him. He basically just wanted his own space. David actually started visiting him by himself, it would be fair to say that they actually developed their own bond, completely independent of James. In fact, John didn’t know it, but David had started calling John his best friend instead of James. John, foolishly, had told David that he was the person he talked to the most and other similar comments and these had gone to David’s head somewhat, in the twelve year old boy’s mind, the two were now best friends. Of course, as is the fashion with children of that age, James became intensely jealous that his brother and his best friend were now best friends and he was no longer necessary. John did everything he could to make his brother feel necessary, but it just wasn’t enough, it was almost as if James wanted to feel unnecessary, just so he had a reason to be annoyed. John’s relationship with his brother then became very strained too, but he continued to try his best and he continued to hang out with David. He would’ve liked to stop seeing David, but that was all he lived for now, he loved the boy like a brother. John was desperate for David to keep visiting him, he didn’t know what he would do if he stopped, but as things continued, he felt like the boy might be losing interest.

“I have a present for you!” announced John one day, when David arrived.

David was intensely excited and curious. John felt that this would make the boy continue to visit him for a while. The present was a Cubone, a Pokémon for David to raise as his own, a good one too, not a Rattata or a Pidgey. Over the next few weeks and months, John continued to give David Pokémon, not every time he visited, but now and again.

It was a long time before John actually unpacked. He lived out of boxes and suitcases for a reasonable period of time. One day, he decided it was finally time to get unpacked. John returned all his Pokémon to their Poké Balls so they wouldn’t get in the way while he tidied. Without his Pokémon, it was a lonely, empty house and John hated silence, so he put some music on to keep him company while he unpacked. As John brought a box into his bedroom to unpack it there a song came on that reminded him of his school days. One memory led to another and eventually John found himself thinking about Emily Drury. He felt awful about what happened, but her body still filled him with disgust, it made him sick to think of her curves, her breasts, her hips, her legs. A photo fell out of the box John was carrying. It was one of the photos of John’s day with David and James – a simple, happy day. Before James Reeve started become bitter about John and David and before anyone could’ve described John’s relationship with David as inappropriate. John stooped down to pick the picture up and looked at it. It was a picture of David.

In the photo, David was running. John couldn’t remember what David was running from, it may have been John or James, but it could have been one of John’s Pokémon – probably Vulpix or Growlithe. John looks at the photo of the boy, if he was lucky, he could stay that way forever, that young and uncaring. His body wasn’t like Emily’s, it was simple. It wasn’t even like that of an adult man, it was straight and certain. He was slim too, there was no puppy fat on David. John had found Emily’s body threatening, its sexuality threatened to dominate him, but David wasn’t like that, John was comfortable with David. John sank on to the bed, still holding the photo of David. John looked at his own body and was uncomfortable even with that, he had muscles now and wide shoulders – he was a man, there was no denying it. David was not, David was a boy and there was something about that that John thought was brilliant. It wasn’t jealousy though, far from it, David’s photo gave John a strange feeling, a feeling that he had never had before.

While John’s left hand clasped the photograph of David, his right hand sank to his trousers. He casually placed his hand over the growing bulge at his crotch. He wasn’t going to touch himself while looking at this picture of David, he was better than that. Still, he had never felt this level of passion before – he had thought himself strange for that. It wasn’t long before John’s hand was in his underwear, he didn’t care about right or wrong anymore, all he cared about was how this photo made him feel. The perfection of David’s body, how perfectly crafted the body of an eternally twelve year old boy is, he was so glad to have that photograph.

Then it was over. John Reeve had never felt so disgusted with himself, he wanted to cry. He threw the photo to the ground and hoped never to see it again, he tried to forget it had ever happened, but the more he tried to forget, the more he remembered. David continued to visit and John continued to give him Pokémon. He felt guilty now, he was determined to prove to himself that he didn’t enjoy David’s company for sexual pleasure, he loved the boy. Saying that just made it worse though. He didn’t love him like a married couple, he loved him like a brother – but would he ever have done what he did while looking at a photo of his brother? He doubted it.

“I have a very special gift for you,” said John, wracked with guilt, the next time David came to visit.

This time it was Eevee, one of John’s first Pokémon.

“Wow!” exclaimed David excitedly, “Eevee? Are you sure? You love Eevee!”

    “It’s fine,” replied John.

It wasn’t really fine, but there had to be some way to get rid of this feeling of guilt. John sat on the bed next to David and thought of what he had done. He hadn’t done it just once either, a few days later, he saw a different photo and he just couldn’t help himself. Another time, he had been in the shower and the thought of David in the shower crossed his mind and, try as he might, he just couldn’t control how he felt. All of these events flashed through John’s mind and the guilt was eating him alive. Unfortunately, guilt was not the only thing he was feeling, he was being filled with desire once again, only this time David was sitting next to him. John was afraid of himself, he didn’t know what he was capable of.

“Thank you so much, John,” said David, with so much emotion in his eyes, “You’re so kind.”

It felt so right. John leant forwards and kissed David on the lips.

David pulled back in disgust. He had no idea how to react. David dropped Eevee’s Poké Ball and backed away from John.

    “I’m sorry,” managed John.

“I’m not a whore!” shouted David and ran out of the house.

John never saw David again after that day. Word got out about what happened. Nothing was ever proven and no serious accusations were made, but people started avoiding John, he was sure of it. People wanted nothing to do with him. John wanted nothing more but to leave town, but he couldn’t, he couldn’t afford to. His contract said he had to stay, if he left, he’d end up becoming a bum. John stopped interacting with people, except at work, where he had to and even there, conversations were brief.

There was an old oak tree in a field of daisies on John’s way to work. John sat by the old oak tree in the field full of daisies and wished things were different, that oak tree was respected, the daisies revered it, there was no questioning its authority or wisdom – he wished people would think the same of him, but people only ever paid attention to the bad things. John’s work was amazing, it was ground breaking stuff, but he still wasn’t respected. John’s life continued like this for many, many years. If ever he ran into his father or his brother in the street, they’d avoid eye contact with him, they knew what he was – disgusting, and he knew it too.

John stayed working for that company for a very, very long time. Every day he went and sat by that old oak tree and felt at peace, he thought about his life and the mistakes he had made, big mistakes. Emily Drury. David Clark. These were things he wished he could take back, but he knew he never could. One day, when John was almost forty and sitting by the old oak tree, he noticed a young girl.

    “Hello,” said the young girl.

John wasn’t sure what to make of her. He thought that if he was caught talking to her, he’d be in a lot of trouble, things would be worse than they are.

“Do you know who I am?” asked John.

“No,” replied the girl, “But I see you here in the daisies all the time.”

“I’m here a lot,” answered John, “I’ve never seen you before.”

“I hide,” she explained, “I don’t like people seeing me. I hate the way I look.”

John looked at the girl. He couldn’t understand why she would hate the way she looked, he thought she was beautiful.

    “Why?” he asked.

“How old do you think I am?” she asked.

She didn’t look older than David had when John knew him, and he had been twelve then. John thought twelve was probably the correct answer, but then he remembered that girls tend to develop earlier than boys, so he thought she was probably younger even than that.

    “Eleven?” guessed John.

“I’m fourteen,” replied the girl sadly, “I don’t look like the other girls. I wish I had boobs.”

John was shocked by the frankness of this girl. He thought she looked perfect flat chested, just like Emily Drury had when she was eleven. When Emily Drury was the age that this girl was now, she was disgusting.

“I think you’re beautiful,” answered John, “Your chest isn’t everything. Girls always seem to think that, but they’re wrong.”

“You mean true beauty comes from within?” asked the girl, it was clear she had heard that one before

“Well, yes,” explained John, “But you’re beautiful on the outside too.”

The girl blushed. It was obvious that John had just made her very happy.

    “What’s your name?” she asked.

“I’m John Reeve,” answered John, “What’s yours?”

“Millie,” she answered, “Millie Barratt. Why do you come here, John? You always look so sad.”

“I want to be that oak tree,” explained John, “It sounds stupid, but I envy it. The daisies in this field, they respect it, but no one respects me. I just want to be treated like a human being.”

“Or a tree!” teased Millie, hastily pointing out the flaw in John’s speech.

    John laughed.

“Yes,” he replied, “Or like a tree.”

“I like the daisies,” said Millie, “They’re so simple, yet so beautiful. It’s effortless.”

John met up with Millie most days. They sat by the old oak tree and chatted for a long time. She began to fill the hole in John’s life that David had made when he left. She was a lovely girl and she was beautiful. John had never known a woman to be so beautiful, it didn’t feel wrong, she wasn’t disgusting. Her body was straight, she didn’t have curves, her hips were slim and her legs were straight, there was nothing sexual about her – but to John, that was the most sexual thing of all. John hated that he was forty, he wanted to be fourteen again, he didn’t want it to be wrong to love this girl. Millie came to John’s house every now and again. John had thought of giving her a Pokémon as a gift, she clearly loved them, but he didn’t want to make her feel like a whore, he didn’t want her to run away like David did. One day though, he decided it was time.

“I have a very special gift for you,” said John, handing Millie a Poké Ball containing a Clefairy.

“I love you!” exclaimed Millie, unable to hold the sentiment in, she immediately held her mouth shut, unable to believe she had said it out loud.

“I love you too,” replied John.

John leant forward and kissed Millie. He flinched, expecting the same reaction he had gotten from David, but he didn’t get that. John was the kindest boy that Millie had ever met – she still called him a boy, even though he was forty. None of the boys that were Millie’s age had ever been so nice to her, they all made fun of her, they all made fun of the fact that she hadn’t developed, that she was flat, she hated it. She thought maybe boys had to reach forty before they could realise that anyone can be beautiful and she didn’t want to wait until she was forty to have a boy who appreciated her. Millie kissed John back.

Once he had been given this small amount of approval, John couldn’t stop kissing Millie. John grabbed Millie around the waist with both hands. An overwhelming feeling of lust was taking over him. Millie could feel how much John wanted her and that made her want him, she wanted nothing more than to be wanted and to be loved, and she knew that John both loved her and wanted her – she was ready to do anything for him. John and Millie undressed each other and physically expressed their desire for one another.

When it was all over, a familiar feeling of guilt washed over John. He had just taken a young girl’s virginity. Of course, as old as he was, he too had been a virgin before Millie. Still, he knew it was wrong, he knew he shouldn’t have done it, but it had felt so right at the time. He looked over to Millie, ready to apologise, but she had a smile on her face.

“I really love you, John,” she reiterated.

“I love you too,” answered John.

John and Millie began seeing each other a lot more, John’s place became a second home for her. They slept together often, both of them enjoyed it and neither of them felt pressured into it, so there was no reason that they shouldn’t do it. John didn’t care that Millie was below the legal age of consent. As Millie approached her fifteenth birthday, they began to see each other every day. Until one day, Millie stopped coming.

John was very successful at work now, he was thinking of starting his own independent research company somewhere else. In truth, he could have by now, but he stayed for Millie. He would have liked to elope with Millie to somewhere faraway where he wouldn’t have to deal with the judgemental people of his town. Everyone hated him and now rumours about John and Millie were starting to go around. John thought he might leave town and start up his own Pokémon research business elsewhere if Millie didn’t visit him again soon.

Then Millie came back. She had a serious look on her face. She didn’t look exactly like she did before, she was still beautiful, but not as much as John remembered.

    “Millie!” exclaimed John happily.

“John,” greeted Millie solemnly, “I’m sorry I haven’t been here, but I’ve had a lot of thinking to do.”

    “Thinking?” questioned John.

    “I’m pregnant, John,” answered Millie.

John felt sick to his stomach, what had he done? This girl was fifteen and he had gotten her pregnant.

“It’s your baby, John,” she continued, “We’re going to have a baby together.”

“We are?” asked John, somewhat surprised that that was her reaction.

“Yes,” she answered, “We love each other and we’re going to have a baby together. This isn’t what we planned, but given that it’s already happened – you don’t want to do anything to it, do you?”

Maybe this wasn’t a bad thing. It’d be a good reason to elope with Millie.

“No,” replied John, “I’m just a little surprised. I love you, Millie. I’ve missed you so much, I’m so glad to have you back.”

“We have to go, don’t we, John?” asked Millie.

“Yes,” answered John gravely, “We can’t stay here now. You’re too young.”

“I’m sorry, John,” muttered Millie, lowering her head in shame.

“It’s not your fault,” encouraged John.

“I don’t know how it happened, John,” she pleaded, “I haven’t even gotten my period yet and now I’m pregnant! I thought that couldn’t happen!”

It was very unlikely, but it was possible. John knew this.

    “Clearly it can,” replied John.

And so John and Millie left, they first stayed in a small house in the middle of nowhere and waited for the baby to be born.

“We’re going to have to get new names, aren’t we, John?” asked Millie.

“Yes,” answered John, “I’m afraid we are.”

“I can’t be your wife, can I?” asked Millie.

She knew the answer, but she so wanted it to be different.

“No,” answered John, “Not in public, only behind closed doors.”

“Then what will I be?” asked Millie.

“My daughter?” suggested John, he hated the idea, but it was the only way, he had to have social standing.

“Then what about the baby?” asked Millie earnestly.

    “Your child?” suggested John uncertainly.

“I’m too young!” protested Millie, “And I look young for my age anyway! If you don’t want to be judged we can’t say that!”

“Your brother or sister then,” answered John, “And I’ll be grandfather to you both, you’ll have to say you’re younger than you are though.”

“Yes, of course,” replied Millie meekly, “Do you know what you want to call yourself yet?”

“No,” answered John, “All I know is that I’m going to be a Professor.”

“I think you should call yourself ‘Oak’” stated Millie confidently, “Like the old oak tree we used to sit by. It was so wise and respected, just like you will be, Professor Oak!”

“Then you should call yourself ‘Daisy’,” retorted the newly christened Professor Oak, smiling, “Because you are beautiful, effortlessly, just like the daisies in the field.”

Soon, Millie had a baby boy, who she and John christened ‘Blue’, destined to be Millie’s brother when he was really her son. The boy could never know the truth, it’d be too hard for him – John and Millie loved him and didn’t want to force such judgement on him. They moved to a small village called Pallet Town, where John was able to have a laboratory built and hire many aides to assist him in his research – he was a real, professional researcher now.

It would be nice to report that at this point that John and Millie lived happily ever after with their son as Professor Oak and his grandchildren, Daisy and Blue, but sadly, it wasn’t that simple. As Millie got older, she did develop, she grew breasts and her hips widened. It was shockingly late for it all to happen, but it did happen. In truth, it had started whilst she was pregnant, but John had ignored it, sure that it was because she was pregnant and that she would soon return to normal. John never found Millie disgusting like he’d found Emily Drury or his father’s girlfriends disgusting but he didn’t find her sexually attractive any more. Even if he had done, the opportunities for him to express his desire were few and far between, due to the secretive nature of their relationship. John loved her and he did his best to keep her happy, but she knew he wasn’t attracted to her any more.

Not only that, but Millie grew aware that their early relationship may not have been as right as she had once believed. She had been a fourteen year old girl and John had been a forty year old man, she began to judge him for ever engaging in a sexual relationship with someone so young. She grew into a young woman and as she developed she became more and more aware of how underdeveloped she had been when she first met John – she didn’t want to admit it, even to herself, but she was beginning to suspect that there was something not quite right with the man she loved.

John continued to love Millie until the day he died, but as the years past she satisfied his sexual hunger less and less and his eyes began to wander. There were several people living in Pallet Town, but one in particular caught his eye. John’s son, Blue, had a best friend. The two boys had a difficult relationship, but that didn’t matter, what really caught John’s eye was the boy’s body. Red was his name. Red’s body was so simple, so straight and not at all sexual. It was exactly what had attracted him to both David and Millie in the first place. One day, when Blue and Red were both ten years old, John was fifty and Millie was twenty four, John ran into Red’s mother on his way around town.

“Good afternoon, Professor Oak,” greeted the woman cheerfully.

“Afternoon,” replied John, by now completely used to his new name.

“How are you?” asked Red’s mother.

“Very good thank you,” replied John, “Actually, I wanted to speak to your son.”

“Oh?” answered Red’s mother, “What did you want to say to him? I can pass on the message if you like.”

“Could you please tell him I have a very special gift for him?” requested John, knowing exactly what he intended to do.

It’s true that Professor Oak is a great man, but every great man has roots and many of those roots are not so great.

Is that a criticism? If so, what didn't you like about it? Thanks for reading and replying at any rate.

It's one of those stories where you're like 'WTF?' and you keep reading it to see how crazy it gets.

    I liked it, regardless.

I was really confused at first and then just a bit grossed out although it clears a lot of things up when you think about it, the ending was kind of creepy though.

Overall it was a good story

    Very wierd and disturbing.

The writing is good, yes, but once again I'll say:

    Very wierd and disturbing.

A lone detective takes it upon himself to solve the murder of a young woman, willingly diving into the dangerous web of conspiracies weaved by the feuding mafia families. But after the truth is uncovered, will that city of sin be the same ever again?

Thanks for the kind words, everyone, I'm glad you liked it.

I'm also glad that you found it weird, disturbing, creepy and/or gross, I would have judged you somewhat if you hadn't.

Ahahaha. This wasn't a test or anything, I just meant if you were totally okay with Professor Oak being a paedophile and everything else he does in this story you'd be a bit... off.
