Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 169: Chasing Your Cail
“Well, it’s quite lively,” I said.
“Really active here!” Alexis added.
“Loooots of stuff happening,” Ed said.
“Could this place BE any more exciting?” Mark asked.
“I may only be fourteen, but I’m no stranger to sarcasm, guys,” Michael said to us. We shrugged and moved ahead.
We’d finally arrived at Pyrite Town, where we were to deliver the Data Rom to Nett of the ONBS Station. Hopefully, he could decipher what it meant. Unfortunately, the initial parts of town were quite gloomy and boring.
“*huff huff huff*” a guy with green hair and a jumpsuit said, running by towards the entrance to the town.
“Well, there’s ONE person who puts down our initial impressions,” I said.
“That’s Cail, the gatekeeper to Pyrite Town. I’ve heard of him from Aiden. He’s a pretty good battler, but was accidentally in possession of a Shadow Pokémon at one point five years ago,” Michael explained.
“The poor guy. Well, let’s go to ONBS!” Mark said. So, we moved on to the building called ONBS. There, we entered to see a young girl and her Shroomish at the front desk. She gasped when she saw us, turned away, and turned back around, much to our confusion.
“…Wel-welcome to ONBS! My name’s Megg, the receptionist! How can I help you?” she asked us nervously.
“Uh…we’re here to see Nett. Professor Krane sent us to deliver something to him,” I explained.
“Okay, well, Nett should be on the top floor, but you’ll need to see Secc. He’s on the second floor, first door you see,” Megg explained.
“Great! Thanks!” With that, we went through the studio and took the elevator to the second floor. We found a manager, looking to be about in his late teens, sitting there.
“Hello. My name is Secc. What can I do for you?” he asked. So, we explained the situation to him. “Are…are you serious?! Cipher’s back?!...no wonder the S.S. Libra went missing,” Secc said.
“Well, the best we can do right now is to examine this Data Rom. Maybe it can shed some light on Cipher’s plans and give your station the perfect story to expose their actions!” Ed suggested.
“Yeah! Good idea! Okay, Nett should be on the top floor. I’ll inform him that you’re on the way!” Secc said. With that, we moved further through the building, going up another floor and to the roof.
“Excuse me, but could we please see Nett? We have something for him,” I said to the guy standing in front of the door.
“Sorry, but Nett’s kind of busy right now. I’m afraid-” the doorman said.
“Is everything all right?” a speaker said. “I’ve heard that I have five visitors. Please let them in!”
“Of course!” the guy at the door said. “Please come in!” We stepped inside and saw two guys about as old as Secc. One was at a desk, and the other, who wore a peculiar hat, was discussing something with him.
“Ah, yes! Welcome! I’m Nett! Pleased to meet you!” the one at the desk said.
“And I’m Bitt!” the one in the hat said.
“Hi! We’re here to give you this!” I said, handing him the Data Rom. “It was found in the Cipher Shadow Pokémon Laboratory.”
“Th-the WHERE?!” Nett asked.
“The Cipher Shadow Pokémon Laboratory. And not too long ago, I might add,” I replied.
“Meaning that Cipher’s gotta be back in business, Nett!” Bitt said.
“…all right. I guess you all need me to analyze this Rom. That I can do. However, it’ll take some time; it looks heavily encrypted,” Nett explained, taking the Data Rom.
“I know what they could do in the meantime! They should find Duking! He was also involved with the original Shadow Pokémon plot!” Bitt suggested.
“Great idea!...hmm, I believe we’re scheduled to have a team interview him at the Rock Poke Spot,” Nett agreed.
“Then that’s where we’ll go!” Alexis said proudly.
“Poke Spot?” Michael asked.
“Didn’t you know? Lately, wild Pokémon have started to come back to Orre! And these Poke Spots are where they appear!” Bitt said.
“So much for YOUR theory,” Ed said to Mark, smirking.
“Do you WANT Aerodactyl’s fangs around your neck?!” Mark snapped. Ed shirked back, afraid.
“Anyway, Duking was the one to discover these areas, and we wanted to have a word with him about them. So you should go east to this point!” Bitt said, pointing at a place on the map.
“Will do! Thanks, guys!” I said as we headed out.
“Well, this’ll be fun! Seeing wild Pokémon out in Orre! I can’t wait!” Michael said.
“Slow down there, bucko. First, we’ve gotta get there!” I said. We’d just made it to the path out of town when we got sidetracked.
“Hey, yo! You guys are new around here, aren’t ya?” the rogue Cail asked.
“Yeah, what if we are?” I asked.
“Well, I’m the gatekeeper to this town, so if you want in, I think you need to show me what you’re made of!” Cail said, moving towards me.
“…um, but aren’t we ALREADY inside-” Alexis started.
“If you won’t tell him, I won’t,” I whispered back. “Okay, Cail! Bring it on!”
“Right! Let’s get started! I haven’t been burning for a fight like this in years! Go, Kirlia and Granbull!” Cail said, bringing out a Kirlia and a Granbull, a bulldog-like Pokémon with fangs.
“I’ve got just the combination for you! Metagross! Deoxys! It’s showtime!” I said, bringing out Metagross and Deoxys.
“Whoah, man! That’s killer!” Cail said, astounded. “But nothing we can’t handle!” As he said that, Granbull’s gaze caused Deoxys to shirk back like Ed did.
“Hey, what’s wrong?!” I asked.
“It’s Granbull’s ability, Intimidate! It strikes the opponent with fear to the point of cutting their strength!” Deoxys said through me.
“Meta!” Metagross argued.
“Oh, right. Metagross’s Clear Body prevents such stat loss!” Deoxys corrected.
“Well, that clinches it then. Deoxys, Defense Forme!” I said. Deoxys went to Defense Forme. “Metagross! Start off with Meteor Mash!” Metagross flew at Granbull with Meteor Mash.
“Kirlia! Fire Punch!” Kirlia jumped in front of Granbull and hit Metagross with a Fire Punch, stopping the Meteor Mash.
“Deoxys! Use Psychic!” Deoxys’ Psychic moved Kirlia out of the way. “Now, Metagross! Hit it with Hammer Arm!” Metagross flew at Granbull again, this time hitting it with a powerful Hammer Arm.
“Granbull! Use Bite!” Granbull jumped up, ready to come down on Metagross with a Bite attack.
“Deoxys! Counter!” Deoxys moved in front, using Counter to deal double damage to Granbull, who ended up on its last legs.
“Kirlia! Use Shadow Ball!” Kirlia fired a Shadow Ball at Deoxys.
“Deoxys! Take it in and use Avalanche!” Deoxys bore the attack, then struck back with Avalanche. “Now, Metagross! Gravity!” Metagross used Gravity to bring everybody down. Deoxys managed to get on top of Metagross’s head.
“Granbull! Solarbeam!” Granbull took in sunlight, charging up a Solarbeam inside its mouth.
“Wait for it…” I said. We waited, eyes shut. Listening…through the darkness, we could hear around us. Everything, every sound…and that’s when we heard the maximum charge of Solarbeam. “NOW! Double Confusion!” Metagross and Deoxys used Confusion right as Granbull was about to fire, burying its face in the ground. A huge explosion ruptured the ground beneath, and Kirlia was caught in it. When the explosion and the smoke cleared, Granbull was struggling to get up, but Kirlia was out.
“Granbull! Use Thunder Fang!” Granbull, no longer under the influence of Gravity, ran at Metagross and bit its arm with Thunder Fang.
“Metagross! I think it’s time we returned the favor in kind! GYRO BALL!” Metagross spun around with Gyro Ball. “Deoxys, hold out a Focus Punch!” Deoxys jumped off of Metagross and readied a Focus Punch, but simply had it to where Granbull smacked into it every time it passed. Deoxys extended its aura and used it to replicate the number of times Granbull had hit Deoxys’ fist. As soon as it got to 66, Metagross stopped. Granbull was still holding on, but not in the way I’d usually mean.
“Granbull and Kirlia are unable to battle! Metagross and Deoxys are the winners, and victory in this match goes to Mike of Littleroot Town!” Ed announced.
“Dude! That was awesome! Your Pokémon are great!” Cail said. “Of course, you guys did great, too!” Cail said to Granbull and Kirlia. They weakly smiled as they went back into their Poke Balls. “All right. You guys are free to go in!”
“Thanks! Well, we’ll be seeing you!” I said, turning to leave.
“Wait, the town’s that way!” Cail said.
“We wanted to tell you that we were just leaving! We’ve actually been here for a while!” Mark explained.
“Way to take all the fun out of a situation, BRO,” I said to Mark.
“Oh. Oh! So, that battle just now…” Cail started.
“Yup. Didn’t even have to happen,” I said.
“But you said you hadn’t gotten fired up in a long time, so maybe it helped!” Michael said.
“You know what? It did help! The town’s so boring nowadays, so I didn’t think anything would happen, really. But now here you all come, bringing the spark back to me! And I’m sure you’ll bring it to everybody you meet! Good luck, pals!” Cail said gratefully.
“Thanks! We’ll be back soon!” we called back.
Upon bringing a soul the fire to keep going, I sure felt a fire brewing in mine: the fire of adventure. Only continuing on in our journey could keep that flame lit, so the adventure continued.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 170: The Plusle of Being Duking
After delivering the Data Rom to Nett and leaving Pyrite Town, we decided to find a man by the name of Duking, who was apparently the Pyrite Colosseum’s owner. Upon reaching our destination, we got off Metagross and Michael got off his scooter. There was little else but desert as far as the eye could see.
“So, this is the ‘Rock’ Poke Spot, eh?” I asked.
“Well, there are some rocks over there,” Alexis said.
“As well as some other people! Let’s go check it out!” Ed said. We walked over to see this big guy in a black tee being interviewed by a newswoman with a TON of makeup and her cameraman.
“So tell us, Mr. Duking! Tell us about this Poke Spot!” the newswoman said.
“Yes, ma’am! I searched fifteen long and toilsome years to find this Poke Spot, yes I did!” Duking, the big guy said.
“Really? Fifteen years?!” the newswoman asked.
“…uh…yeah…let’s not let details get in the way of things, eh Polly?” Duking replied nervously.
“That’s POFTY!” the newswoman yelled.
“Anyway, I think it would be nice to get a little demonstration!...ah…you! Over there!” Duking said, pointing to me.
“Me, sir?” I asked.
“Yeah! Come on over here and help me out, would you?” Duking requested. So I walked over, and he handed me some wedge-like things. “Now, these are Poke Snacks. Place any amount on that plate over there, and you can bet your booty that a wild Pokémon will come along and start munching on one of ‘em!”
“Oh! Okay!” I said, taking the snacks. I placed three of them onto the pedestal.
“Right on, mate!” Duking said to me. At this point, Mark and the others were close as well. “Y’see, you just gotta place ‘em there and then wait as long as need be for a wild Pokémon to come up and go to town on ‘em! And to help you know when they’ll start a’gobbling, here’s a Spot Monitor I made myself!” He handed me a little disc, which I gave to Michael. He put it into a slot on his PDA.
“Really? You made it yourself?” Pofty asked.
“…uh…right…maybe we’d best not cloud up the story with details, ain’t that right, Betty?” Duking responded again.
“I told you, that’s POFTY!” Pofty exclaimed.
“So, with that Spot Monitor, you kids should be able to know when a Pokémon has shown up! It beeps when a Pokémon is within the right range of the plate!” Duking explained.
“Wow! This should prove to be a really useful method for aspiring Trainers everywhere! And that’s Duking of Pyrite Town, followed by-” Pofty went on over to the cameraman.
“Hey, mate. Bring your pals to this area here,” Duking whispered to me, pointing to a spot on an Orre Map. He then ran off.
“…huh. Okay,” I said, confused.
“Mike? What did he want?” Alexis asked, coming up to me.
“He said he wants us to come to…uh…here!” I said, looking up the map on my Pokegear.
“That area’s supposed to have an oasis, as far as I’ve heard! Sounds great in this harsh desert environment!” Ed said.
“I don’t know if we have time for this. We’re supposed to be looking for ways to take down Cipher, remember?” Michael reminded us in a no-nonsense tone.
“But we won’t know anything if Nett doesn’t get that Data Rom fixed, so we might as well do this for now!” Mark said, patting him on the head. “So let’s get moving!” With that, we were off to the oasis. As soon as we got there, we saw some Poke Snacks placed on a plate similar to the one in the desert.
“Huh. Is somebody here?” Alexis asked.
“Shh! Get down and stay quiet!” a voice said. It was Duking’s voice, coming from the bushes. We got down and waited. Finally, a Surskit, a round Pokémon with four legs and a skinny antennae on its yellow hat appeared. “I’ve got you now, mate! Plusle! Let’s go!” Duking then sent out a Plusle, Minun’s counterpart. “Plusle, use Thunderbolt!” Plusle fired a Thunderbolt, which got Surskit’s attention. It then fired a Bubblebeam at Plusle. “Dodge and use Encore!” Plusle jumped to dodge the attack, then sent out a sparkling light at Surskit. It caused Surskit to be developed in a glow, but Surskit just used Bubblebeam again.
“What’s Encore?” Michael asked.
“It’s a move that sort of locks your opponent!” Mark said.
“Once Encore is used, the last move the target used will be the only move they can use for a while,” Ed explained. “It’s kind of annoying, really.”
“Plusle! Use Spark!” Plusle adopted a yellow, electric glow around it, then charged at Surskit, ramming into it like Raichu’s Volt Tackle. The attack knocked Surskit far back, but Surskit got back up and used Bubblebeam again. “Dodge and use Fake Tears!” Plusle then started putting on a scene, crying loudly, making Surskit ease back awkwardly.
“Fake Tears is an attack that drops the opponent’s Special Defense! This is Duking’s chance!” I said.
“Plusle! Finish it with Thunder!” Plusle fired a Thunder that zapped and fried Surskit. “Oh yeah! Poke Ball, GO!” Duking threw a Poke Ball, drawing Surskit in, wiggling, and clicking shut. “Yeeha! I caught a Surskit!”
“Way to go, Duking!” we said, cheering for him as we came running up.
“Thanks, kids! I was glad to have you all around to see that! Especially you, McCarver boys!” Duking said, pointing to me and Mark.
“How do you know us?” Mark asked.
“Why, you two are the spitting image of your daddy! Ah, but Michael there…he has his mother’s eyes. I’m glad to see you two have grown up to make something of yourselves,” Duking said, patting our shoulders.
“Ah, so you’re…” I started, pointing to my patch.
“Yup! Bona fide!” Duking said, getting his out. “I thought it was David at first, but seeing how young you looked, I knew it had to be his sons! And…I recognize you! You were Michael’s little playmate!” Duking said to Alexis. “Well, ain’t you just a fine young woman now!”
“Why…why thank you,” Alexis said, blushing. I would’ve been cross had it not been for Duking just being a gentleman.
“And Mr. Takeshi’s boy! He told me about you winning in the Battle Frontier some time ago! I’m happy to finally meet ya!” Duking said to Ed.
“The pleasure is all mine, sir!” Ed responded, shaking his hand.
“And you are…?” Duking asked Michael.
“My name’s Michael. I’m…from the Pokémon HQ Lab. Lily’s son?” Michael stated.
“Indeed! I remember Miss Lily quite well. Anyway, we got two Michaels, do we?” Duking asked.
“Nah, I shortened my name to Mike. It makes things easier, especially in this situation!” I answered.
“Ah, that it does. So, what brings you all out to Orre?” Duking asked. And so we explained the situation to him. “…I see. It certainly brings back memories of five years back.”
“What happened back then?” I asked.
“Mayor Es Cade of Phenac City turned out to be the leader of Cipher, working with Team Snagem to take Trainers’ Pokémon and turning them into Shadow Pokémon! If it weren’t for those two kids, Cipher would’ve conquered the world by now!” Duking said. “But they’re gone now. I was wondering what that little device you had there was!” Duking told Michael.
“Yup! The Snag Machine is helping us take back the Shadow Pokémon!” Michael said, holding up the arm with the Snag Machine.
“Ho ho! Well, you certainly have my support. And if there’s anything you all need, just come see me. My resources are yours, and I’m sure the same goes for Secc and them!” Duking said as he began to leave. “Good luck. The fate of the world is definitely in capable hands.” With that, he left.
“Wow. What a gentleman,” Alexis said, dreamy-eyed. Now I WAS cross.
“So, what next?” Mark asked.
“He didn’t mention this Cave Poke Spot that was listed near Mt. Battle,” Michael said, checking his PDA.
“Okay. Let’s check things out there and then boogie on back to Pyrite,” I said.
“They have a word for words like boogie. What was it? Ah yes, 50’s,” Mark said to me.
Unbeknownst to Mark (or to any of us, for that matter), the word was actually fitting, considering how much “boogie”-ing our next little episode contained…

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 171: Saturday Cave Fever
After visiting the two Poke Spots set by Duking of Pyrite Town, we decided to visit the final one, located in a cave just south of Mt. Battle. We went inside to find a plate shining in the light from the sun, beaming through holes in the ceiling. And by it were two guys, one with blonde, spiky hair, and one with a blue cap, and both were wearing goggles.
“Well, ain’t this a howdy-do, Trudly. We got company here!” the blonde dude said.
“Wah! Oh, I thought that red-haired one was the boss. Don’t scare me like that, Folly!” the other one said, surprised.
“And just what do you mean by that?!” Alexis and Michael snapped.
“Chill, kids. You’ll have to forgive him. He’s a little jumpy because of our boss, Miror B., the future ruler of the world!” Folly said.
“Yeah! He’s gonna start Team Miror, take all the Shadow Pokémon, and then dominate, baby!” Trudly added.
“Yeah. That’s why he’s having you raid A CAVE,” Mark said sarcastically. Suddenly, something beeped. Folly pulled out a small transceiver.
“Uh-oh! It’s him!” Folly said. “He’s coming!” Sure enough, in moonwalked a tall, tanned, skinny dude in a blue vest and pants, high-heels, and a giant afro looking like a Poke Ball.
“Oh-ho, my posse! Say, round up any Pokémon yet?” he asked. He then saw us. “Whoa! Stop the music!” He then eyed us through his thick sunglasses. “Mmm, you all look to be Pokémon Trainers! And you probably have some rare Pokémon, too! How about you all join my crew? Join Miror B., and we could rule the world!”
“Yeah, uh…no thanks,” Ed said.
“Shouldn’t you arrest him or something?” Alexis asked.
“He hasn’t committed a crime, so technically…” I answered.
“That afro is a crime,” Mark whispered.
“DON’T YOU DARE INSULT THE FRO!” Miror B. snapped. “I had a feeling you’d say no! Unfortunately, I can’t let you you leave just like that! You see, I deal with these kinds of threats by nipping them while they’re still buds yet! Here we go, fwohohohoh! LET THE MUSIC PLAY!” Miror B. mocked as a funky disco music started playing. He then threw out four Poke Balls, all of them bringing out Ludicolo.
“Okay, NOW he’s commiting a crime! And where the hell is that music coming from?!” I asked.
“Plot device, dude. Plot device,” Ed responded.
“I don’t follow,” I said.
“Let’s try a different tune! Umbreon, Empoleon, Aerodactyl! Action!” Mark said, bringing out the three mentioned Pokémon.
“What can you do with them? Lu, use Rain Dance! Di, use Water Sport! Co, do a Hydro Pump! And Lo, use Ice Beam!” As a result of all of these attacks, Rain started pouring, a Hydro Pump was enhanced by the Water Sport, both were frozen by Ice Beam, and the resulting icicle did moderate damage to Umbreon, major damage to Aerodactyl, but little damage to Empoleon.
“Heh, nice opening! But I’m more of a big finish kind of guy myself! Umbreon and Aerodactyl! Use Hyper Beam! And Empoleon, Steel Wing!” Umbreon and Aerodactyl fired Hyper Beams, while Empoleon used Steel Wing to fly with them, catching the attacks and making the wings guide the Hyper Beams.
“What is this technique?!” Michael asked.
“I picked this up from Chris! BIG BANG BOOM!” Empoleon then clapped its wings, causing the Hyper Beams to collide. There was a massive explosion that caught all four Ludicolo in it. It looked like a critical hit, and the Ludicolo were all knocked out. Empoleon saluted us.
“Way to go, you guys!” I said.
“That was awesome! How come you’ve never shown us that before?” Ed asked.
“It requires three Pokémon to be executed perfectly. And triple battles are only legal in the Unova Region right now,” Mark answered.
“Excuse me, but I think you’re a little more percussion-oriented. Music must be about balance! And you dance to the melody! You and your three Pokémon lack that kind of style, you see!” Miror B. said.
“I wouldn’t talk; you’re off key!” Alexis said, continuing the rhyme.
“Ooh, that does it! I am so going for YOU now!” Miror B. said irritably.
“C’mon, Mike! Let’s knock this flat freak off his high horse! Mightyena, I choose you!” Alexis said, sending out Mightyena.
“Right behind you, Lexi! Gallade! Showtime!” I said, sending out Gallade, who seemed to like the music.
“Voltorb and Nosepass! Go for it!” Miror B. said, sending out a Voltorb and a Nosepass.
“GAH!!” I screamed, my scar throbbing.
“Mike! What is it?!” Alexis cried, worried.
“T…two Shadow Pokémon?! Is that even possible for one person?” Michael asked, checking his Aura Reader.
“Urgh...I’m…I’m okay. Just *urk* a little distracted. Let’s do this! Gallade, try using an Ice Punch!” Gallade started off with Ice Punch, but Voltorb rolled out of the way.
“Mightyena! Use Iron Tail!” Mightyena ran at Nosepass with Iron Tail, but Nosepass followed Voltorb, dodging the attack.
“I see! Voltorb rolls around, and Nosepass’s magnetic nose follows electricity!” I speculated.
“We’ll just have to change that around!” Alexis said. “Mightyena, GO!” At that, Mightyena used Thunder Fang to bite Nosepass.
“Whoa! But Mightyena can only learn that move by breeding!” Ed said, astonished.
“Apparently, its father was a Donphan,” Deoxys said through Michael.
“…Oh, please don’t say any more!” Mark begged, disgusted.
“Music comes with all sorts of twists and turns! But let’s turn things around again! Shadow Rush!” Miror. B said. Voltorb rolled back around and used Shadow Rush to intercept Mightyena’s attack.
“Gallade! Now, while Nosepass is heading towards them! Use Leaf Blade!” Gallade leapt onto Nosepass’s nose and hit it with Leaf Blade, doing major damage.
“Nosepass, get it off you! Shadow Wave!” Nosepass fired a Shadow Wave from its nose (ew), causing Gallade to take damage and fall off.
“Mightyena, use Thunder Fang to lure Nosepass around!” Mightyena ran at Nosepass, then circled around it with Thunder Fang. Nosepass, while struggling, circled to follow the electricity.
“Voltorb, let’s get down! Use Shadow Panic!” Voltorb sent out from its aura two dark spirals. Gallade jumped to dodge one, but Mightyena got caught in the other one. It stopped running and started spinning around in a daze.
“NO! It’s confused! Mightyena, snap out of it!” Mightyena, however, smacked its head with its tail.
“Voltorb! Use Shadow Rush!” Voltorb’s Shadow Rush caught Gallade off guard and did major damage, sending it careening into Mightyena.
“We’ve gotta turn this around! Mike, have Gallade distract them and I’ll get Mightyena ready for some payback!” Alexis said, pissed.
“…y-yes ma’am! Gallade, here’s an idea! Use Close Combat…as a disco dance!”
“Gallade?” Gallade asked, confused. I nodded, and Gallade started to do its thing. It started doing disco moves, while inadvertently hitting Voltorb and Nosepass at the same time. It even went so far as to throw Voltorb in the air. It then punched Voltorb, nearly knocking it out.
“My turn! SNAG BALL, GO!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Voltorb in, wiggled a while, then finally clicked shut. “Yeah, VOLTORB SNAGGED!”
“I must say, I like your style! It’s too bad you wouldn’t join up with me, though. Nosepass, Shadow Wave!” Nosepass fired a Shadow Wave.
“Gallade, Confusion!” Gallade gathered the attack onto its hand with Confusion and kept attacking with Close Combat, doing some damage to Nosepass.
“Mightyena! Please, if you can hear me! SNAP OUT OF IT!” Alexis said to Mightyena. At once, it came back to reality and began to nuzzle her. “Good to see you too, but we’ve gotta help Mike!”
“Rar! RAAAR!” Mightyena agreed, then roared as it jumped in front of Nosepass and used Swagger. Nosepass then started ramming itself against rocks in the cave.
“Ahh…now THAT’S music to my ears! Swagger’s bound to do more confusion damage since it raises the target’s attack!” Ed said.
“Oh, no no no! Get it together, you big Potato-head! Use Shadow Wave!” Nosepass, however, jumped up and slammed itself against the ground, knocking itself out.
“Ready! Snag Ball, take two!” Michael said, tossing a Snag Ball. It took Nosepass in, wiggled a while, then snapped shut. “All right! NOSEPASS SNAGGED!”
“NOOOO-no-no-no-no-no! This just won’t do at all! You’ve thrown off my rhythm! Someday I’ll make you pay for it! Let’s vamoose, crew!” Miror B. said.
“Right, boss!” Folly and Trudly agreed as the three of them skedaddled. I noticed that Folly dropped the radar he was talking about.
“Might be handy to have this around,” Mark said, picking it up and putting it in his pack.
“Alexis, you were great!” I said, hugging Alexis. “That was brilliant, having Mightyena use Swagger!”
“Really? Well, I couldn’t have done it without your help, sweetie!” Alexis replied, giving me a kiss.
“Seriously, you’re not far from becoming a Gym Leader. I just know it,” I said to her.
“Yeah! And I can’t wait to have an official Gym battle with you when you are!” Ed said.
“Hey, I’d like to battle YOU when you’re a Frontier Brain!” Mark said to him.
“Wow, you’ve all got such big dreams. Makes me wonder what mine will be?” Michael pondered.
“For now, just make it anything but getting an afro,” I advised him. We laughed at that, then decided to head back to Pyrite Town. Surely Nett would’ve found out something on that Data Rom, and hopefully would be able to help us figure out Cipher’s plans.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 172: You’ve Got a Friend in Me
“Hey, hey! Wake up!” Michael said. The big guard was unconscious.
“Shroomish! Shroom, Shroomish Shroom!” Megg’s Shroomish said frantically.
We had returned to Pyrite Town to check on how Nett’s study into the Data Rom was going, but we arrived to find that Megg was missing from the front and a guard was passed out at the desk at ONBS.
“I just don’t get it. Who could’ve attacked this station?” I asked. “Guys, keep an eye out! If there are any Cipher goons around, we might be able to find them and make them talk!” Suddenly a robotic arm reached out and grabbed Shroomish. “No!”
“HAHAHAHAHA!” came the usual laugh. Team Rocket jumped out of the shadows and used the robotic arm to place Shroomish inside a glass container.
“Team Rocket! You guys ought to be ashamed of yourselves!” Alexis shouted.
“To be honest, we didn’t do a thing!” Ashley said.
“We’re just taking advantage of the situation and stealing all the Pokémon we can!” Olson said.
“Gotta go!” they said as they ran around the corner.
“GET BACK HERE!” I yelled, giving chase. Right then, they were sent flying back into the room. The impact inadvertently opened Shroomish’s cage, and it ran into Alexis’s arms. “Whoa. Didn't think THAT would work!”
“Look!” Mark said, pointing. A Cipher Peon came around the corner, with a Surskit and a Makuhita at his side.
“Agh…there’s one over there,” I said, pointing to the Makuhita.
“All right, I’m on it. Arcanine! Lickilicky! You’re on!” Ed said, bringing out Arcanine and Lickilicky. “Use Overheat!”
“Surskit! Use Bubblebeam to put out that flame!” Surskit fired a Bubblebeam.
“Terribly sorry, but this wasn’t for you,” Ed said. Arcanine launched an Overheat at Lickilicky. “Intercept with Lick!” Lickilicky’s tongue caught the attack, creating a fiery tongue. “Now, let’s put it out, Ed-style! Power Whip!” Lickilicky ran around, slamming its Power Whip/tongue against the ground, accidentally hitting Makuhita and Surskit in the process. This went on until Makuhita and Surskit were knocked out. “Michael, do it!”
“O…okay. Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, getting a Snag Ball out and throwing it at Makuhita. It took Makuhita in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “Yeah! MAKUHITA SNAGGED!”
“Way to go, Ed! That was awesome!” I said, patting him on the back.
“Aw, shucks. It was just a technique I came up with for double battling,” Ed replied.
“How-how could you win in just one move?! Rrgh, Exol WILL hear about this, and you WILL pay!” the Peon said as he rushed away.
“So now we’ve got a Fighting-Type to add to the list!” Mark said.
“All right, let’s get this one healed before anything else!” Michael said. We looked around until we saw a restoration machine nearby. As we were healing up, I went over to Michael, who looked a little down.
“Hey, you okay?” I asked.
“Well…I just feel a little weak,” Michael replied.
“Weak? What’s there to feel weak about? I mean, you’re snagging Pokémon left and right, becoming Orre’s savior! Why would you feel down?” I asked, astonished to hear him say that.
“Because it’s not me. I couldn’t get this far without you guys. I just…feel like I’m still just a kid, depending on somebody else,” Michael answered, biting his lip.
“That’s just plain silly. I mean, I rely on others as well!” I said.
“Huh?!” Michael responded.
“Look, it’s true that you need to believe in having your own power. But at the same time, think about what it’s for. Is it for personal glory? Is it for getting the job done? What is it?” I asked.
“I…I guess, it’s…I really don’t know,” Michael answered evasively.
“Well, for me, it’s for helping the people around me,” I said. “Trust me, it really helps. Doing things for them, being there for them…it gives them hope. And their support in return gives me hope. I’m nothing without the bonds I’ve made with each of my friends, for they are what gives me the strength to go on, even in the toughest situations,” I said, thinking back on many of my adventures: facing Paul in Hoenn, numerous encounters with Team Rocket, battling Suicune to rescue Alexis, and other things.
“I see…I think I get it,” Michael said.
“And our bonds with you will most definitely give YOU power, buddy!” I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. “You just gotta believe!”
“Believe…” Michael wondered. He then got up. “Okay, let’s get moving! There are people to save!”
“Ooh, so sorry, little boy!” a voice said. A female Cipher Peon came walking around the corner. “You won’t be saving anyone today, since I’m bringing you in to Exol!”
“Just try it! Leafeon, Makuhita! Let’s go!” Michael said, sending out Leafeon and Makuhita.
“Dustox! Vulpix! Get in there!” the Peon said as she sent out a Dustox and a Vulpix, a red fox Pokémon with six tails.
“Uh…yeah, there’s one,” I said, feeling my scar activate again and seeing the shadowy aura around Vulpix. “Funny, I’m becoming more and more used to the pain!”
“Leafeon! Dig! Makuhita, follow it with Shadow Blitz!” Leafeon dug into the ground, while Makuhita used Shadow Blitz to follow.
“Dustox, get ready! Once they come out, use Poison Sting!” Dustox got ready, but both Leafeon and Makuhita resurfaced beneath Vulpix instead, doing major damage. “What?! I mean, do it!” Dustox fired a Poison Sting, which hit Leafeon for a critical hit.
“Makuhita! Another Shadow Blitz!” Makuhita careened into Dustox with Shadow Blitz, knocking it on the ground. “Leafeon, use Aerial Ace!” Leafeon leapt at Vulpix with Aerial Ace.
“Shadow Wave!” Vulpix let out a Shadow Wave that stopped Leafeon’s attack and caused Makuhita to look behind itself like it had an itch.
“Makuhita, Shadow Blitz!” Makuhita went for Dustox with another Shadow Blitz.
“Dustox, Confusion!” Dustox picked up Makuhita with Confusion, then flung it into Leafeon. “Face it, kid! You can’t hold a candle to my Pokémon!”
“No! There’s no way!...I can’t believe this…” Michael said, breaking down.
“C’mon, Michael! Don’t give up here!” Mark cheered.
“We believe in you!” Ed added.
“You’ve got her! You just need to keep going!” Alexis called out.
“And you need to believe!” I reminded him.
“…believe…of course!” Michael said, remembering our talk. “You know what? Power isn’t what matters, lady! It’s heart! And my Pokémon and I have the heart to win!”
“Leafe!” Leafeon agreed. Makuhita simply nodded. Just then, Leafeon used Synthesis to restore energy.
“No way! Well, we’ll still take you down! Dustox, use Confusion!” Dustox got ready to use Confusion.
“Now, Leafeon! Use Dig!” Leafeon dug into the ground. “Now use Energy Ball!” An Energy Ball fired out of the ground, distracting Dustox until Leafeon’s Dig struck, doing major damage.
“Gah! I can’t believe it!” the Peon said as Dustox reeled.
“No worries!” a voice said. A male Cipher Peon came up. “I’ll help you out!” he said, sending out a Duskull, a ghostly black Pokémon with a skullface covering a lone red eye. My scar activated, but I was too angry to care that Duskull was a Shadow Pokémon.
“Just in time, Lobar!” the female said. “Vulpix, use Shadow Wave!” Vulpix let loose another Shadow Wave. Leafeon just stood there, still a little fatigued.
“Espeon, Signal Beam!” I called. Espeon came out and fired a Signal Beam to stop the attack. Espeon smiled at Leafeon, who looked aside, embarrassed. “I think you guys need a lesson in proper battling! For example, calling in for backup in the middle of a battle is illegal!”
“Oh, please! We’re members of Cipher! The rules don’t exist in our battles!” the male Peon said.
“Is that so?” Mark asked deviously. “Aerodactyl, let’s show ‘em a thing or two!” Mark said, sending out Aerodactyl.
“Raichu, get in there!” Ed said, sending out Raichu.
“Let’s join in, Moltres!” Alexis said, bringing out Moltres.
“Uh…okay, maybe I stand corrected this one time?” the male suggested, backing off.
“No such luck! Moltres, Sky Attack!” Moltres glowed, then struck Vulpix with a Sky Attack, flinging it up high.
“Espeon! Follow that up with Giga Impact!” Espeon intercepted Vulpix with Giga Impact.
“Makuhita! Finish it with Shadow Blitz!” Makuhita came down on Vulpix with Shadow Blitz. “Snag Ball, go!” Michael threw a Snag Ball, which ensnared Vulpix, wiggled, and clicked shut. “VULPIX SNAGGED! One down, one to go!”
“Uh, hang on a second here!” the male said. “Never mind! Duskull, Shadow Wave!” Duskull fired a Shadow Wave.
“Raichu, use Focus Punch!” Raichu’s Focus Punch negated the Shadow Wave. “Now use Iron Tail!” Raichu used Iron Tail to send the other Shadow Wave right back, doing some damage.
“Aerodactyl, use Iron Head!” Aerodactyl smashed Duskull with an Iron Head, landing a critical hit.
“Leafeon, finish it with Aerial Ace!” Leafeon used Aerial Ace to hit Dustox, causing it and Duskull to slam into each other. “All right, we’re recharged! Snag Ball, go!” Michael threw another Snag Ball, which went through the same process until it clicked shut. “Yeah! DUSKULL SNAGGED!”
“No!! But that’s not fair!” the female Peon said.
“We’ll report this to Commander Exol, and you WILL be sorry! Of course, you’d better surrender now, or the receptionist girl’s life will be forfeit!” the male Peon said. The two then escaped.
“Let them go! They’re just mad dogs anyway!” Ed said.
“Right! Let’s get their master!” I said.
“Guys, before that…” Michael started, “I just want to say…thanks for believing in us.”
“Hey, we know you’ve got great potential!” Ed said.
“And your skills are amazing!” Alexis said.
“But above all else, you’ve got a great heart,” Mark stated.
“And that heart is more powerful than any Shadow Pokémon Cipher’s got. Our hearts are connected by the bonds of friendship, just like I said. With that bond, we’re always with you, supporting you!” I explained.
“And that support gives us power…yeah! With this kind of power, we’ll be able to take down Cipher and anyone else who stands in our way!” Michael said. He then started to lead us to the stairs leading to the roof.
“Hey, my scar’s activating again!” I said. Just ahead was a Cipher Peon with a Shadow Ralts.
“Hey, you! Stop!” the Peon said.
“No time to deal with you! Michael, use this!” Mark said, throwing him a Quick Ball, which worked better at the start of a confrontation.
“Got it! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing the Snag Ball. It took Ralts in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “RALTS SNAGGED! Take that!”
“Wh-what?! But that’s impossi-” the Peon started.
“Yeah yeah, we’ve heard it before! Espeon, Psychic!” I said.
“Espe!” Espeon said, using Psychic to send the Cipher Peon flying into the closet, slam the door shut, and lock it.
“Yeah! Now THAT was awesome!” I said. Espeon and I then high-fived.
“Hang on, guys. Let me make some adjustments,” Michael said, getting on a PC. He adjusted things in the Purify Chamber and his party. “Okay, ready! Let’s go rescue Megg!” Michael’s confidence definitely looked boosted at this point.
“Yeah! Let’s get a move on, gang!” I said, leading us up the stairs that would hopefully lead us to getting Megg and the truth that Cipher was trying to hide.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 173: Inch By Inch, Mile By Mawile
“Stop! By order of the PWE, you’re under arrest for assault and theft, among other related crimes!” I said, charging into the room.
We had just made it to the roof, where Nett’s office was. Inside were Nett, Bitt, and a big Cipher Commander who was holding Megg.
“You can’t do anything to stop me! After all, I’ve got a hostage! Now then, the Data Rom, please,” the Commander said to Nett.
“…all right, you win. Here,” Nett said, handing over the Data Rom.
“Nett! You realize what you’re doing, right?” Alexis asked, astonished.
“I do, and it’s not very smart. Isn’t that right?” the Commander asked the screen behind Nett. A Cipher Peon appeared on it.
“Indeed, Commander Exol. We’ve erased all the data found on that Data Rom from the ONBS mainframe,” the Peon said.
“What?!” Nett asked, surprised.
“Good work. Get ready to clear out!” Exol said. “Well, don’t feel too bad. At least you tried,” Exol said.
“Aerodactyl, use Hyper Beam!” Mark said. His Aerodactyl fired a Hyper Beam at Exol, who ducked. Mark used the opportunity to grab Megg and take her over to Nett. “Guys, now’s your chance! Take him down!”
“Right! Espeon, you’re up!” I said. Espeon nodded and jumped in.
“Houndour, get in there!” Michael said, sending out Houndour.
“Loudred! Mawile! Let’s break ‘em apart!” Exol said, sending out a Loudred, the evolved form of Whismur (only purple and with speakers for ears), and a Mawile, a small, yellow Pokémon with a pair of giant black horns that doubled as jaws on top of its head. As soon as they saw these jaws, Espeon and Houndour were affected by Mawile’s Intimidate.
“AGH! Okay, there’s one,” I said, feeling my scar burn more than usual. Indeed, Mawile was exerting a shadowy aura.
“I see it too!” Michael confirmed, pulling up the Aura Reader.
“Looks like we’ll need special attacks for this one!” I said.
“That’s fine by me! Houndour, Ember!” Houndour fired an Ember at Mawile.
“Mawile, Shadow Wave!” Mawile sent out a Shadow Wave to cancel out the attack.
“Espeon, use…oh, man! Nothing works on a Steel-Type! Guess we’ll have to go for Loudred! Use Hidden Power!” Espeon fired a Hidden Power at Loudred.
“Loudred, dodge and use Stomp!” Loudred jumped to dodge the Hidden Power, then started to come down from midair with a Stomp attack.
“You thought it’d be that easy, didn’t you?” I asked. Just then, the Hidden Power whirled back around and hit Loudred, throwing off the angle of its fall.
“You know, for a second there…yeah, I actually did,” Exol said. “Regardless! Mawile, Shadow Rush!” Mawile rammed into Espeon with an extremely powerful Shadow Rush, doing major damage.
“No! Espeon!” I shouted. Espeon barely managed to hold on.
“Loudred, Water Pulse!” Loudred fired a Water Pulse at Houndour. Not only did it do incredible damage, but it caused Houndour to become confused.
“Houndour, come on! Snap out of it and use Faint Attack!” Houndour raced at Espeon with Faint Attack.
“GAH! Watch it! Espeon, Quick Attack!” Espeon jumped over Houndour with Quick Attack, but since Faint Attack never misses, it just nicked Espeon.
“Loudred, use Supersonic!” Loudred sent out a Supersonic from its speakers towards Espeon.
“Espeon, watch out!” I said.
“Houndour, get in front of Espeon!” Houndour mistakenly got in the way of the Supersonic, taking it in.
“Lucky little punks! Mawile, Shadow Rush!” Mawile ran at Houndour with Shadow Rush. Houndour suddenly snapped out of its confusion and blocked the attack with its skull.
“Houndour, Ember!” Houndour used Ember on Mawile, doing more damage at close range. “All right! Now use Smog!” Houndour used Smog to obscure Loudred’s vision.
“Loudred, blow it away with Hyper Voice!” Loudred fired a Hyper Voice to clear the Smog and hit Houndour as well. At this point, Houndour looked like it was about to kick the bucket, it was so hurt.
“C’mon, Espeon! We’ve gotta cover for them! Use Psychic!” Espeon used Psychic to lift Loudred into the air. It then flung Loudred at Mawile. Mawile, however, caught Loudred with its horns and threw it right back at Espeon.
“Stomp, now!” Loudred used the momentum from the fall to hit Espeon with a Stomp, then stayed on top of it.
“Espeon!” I said.
“Rapid-fire Shadow Wave!” Mawile fired Shadow Wave after Shadow Wave, draining more and more of Espeon’s stamina. “Kid, I admit you’ve fought well, but this match is over! My Pokémon have you pinned, and the Data Rom is mine! HAAHAHAHA!”
“N-no…” Michael said. “C’mon, Houndour! You’ve got to do something! HOUNDOUR!” Houndour tried to get up, then roared. It then glowed brightly, grew horns and a long tail, and increased in body size. When the glow faded, it had bones along its back, and its nose had grown.
“What?! That’s impossible! It evolved into a Houndoom!” Exol said, taken back.
“A Houndoom?” Michael asked.
“Here,” I said, getting out my Pokedex.
“Houndoom, the Dark Pokémon. Houndoom is the evolved form of Houndour. Its eerie howl is said to cause those who hear it to shudder in fear.”
“All right! Now let’s get things back in our corner!” Michael said.
“Rar!” Houndoom agreed, then used Sunny Day.
“A Sunny Day?...wait, yeah! Espeon, use Morning Sun!” Espeon used Morning Sun to gather up energy from the Sunny Day, replenishing its stamina. “Now use Giga Impact!” Espeon used Giga Impact, using Loudred as a battering ram. It then sped towards Mawile.
“Mawile, you’ve got to stop them! Use Shadow Rush!” Mawile charged forward with Shadow Rush. However, the attack was nullified and Mawile was sent flying into the air while Espeon rammed Loudred into the wall. Espeon then jumped back over to where we were, but Loudred still got up.
“There’s got to be some way that we can stop Mawile! Ember may not be strong enough, but what else works on a Steel-Type?” I pondered.
“The only attacks that do regular damage are Water and Electric attacks! But neither of your Pokémon know any…never mind,” Ed suggested, then stepped down, ashamed.
“Wait! There might be an attack! Two, even!” Mark thought. “Michael, tell Houndoom to use Thunder Fang!”
“Ehh?!” Michael said. “It can learn that?!”
“Just do it!” Mark shouted.
“O…okay. Houndoom, use Thunder Fang!” Michael said, still unsure.
“HAHAHAHA! What kind of attack is that, pipsqueak?!” Exol laughed, amused. Houndoom bit into Mawile with Thunder Fang. “HUH?!?”
“Didn’t see that one coming, did you?” I asked, grinning. “So Mark, what’s this other attack?”
“Wait, I think I know!” Alexis said. “Loudred’s Water Pulse!”
“Water Pulse?...eureka!” I said, understanding. “Espeon, Signal Beam!” Espeon fired a Signal Beam, which deliberately missed Loudred.
“Loudred, fight back with Water Pulse!” Loudred fired a Water Pulse.
“Gotcha! Confusion!” Espeon used Confusion to redirect the attack to Mawile. The deadly combo of water and electricity did enough damage to knock Mawile out. Houndoom, still holding Mawile in its teeth, turned to Michael and nodded.
“Thanks, pal! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Mawile in, wiggled around for a while, then clicked shut. “We did it! MAWILE SNAGGED!”
“No! NO! This can’t be! It doesn’t matter, I’ll still take you kids down! Loudred, use Hyper Voice!” Loudred sent a Hyper Voice at us.
“Houndoom, use Howl then Faint Attack!” Houndoom howled to not only counter the sound wave with its own, but also to raise its Attack. It then hit Loudred with a Faint Attack, which took Loudred out.
“DAMN IT! You got lucky this time, but Cipher will rule the world! And I will dance on your graves!” Exol said, recalling Loudred and escaping through a hole in the floor.
“Man, that guy’s resourceful!” I said.
“Way to go, you guys!” Alexis said, coming out to us.
“Michael, your Houndoom is awesome!” Ed said, congratulating Michael.
“Thanks, you guys!” Michael said.
“Megg, you all right?” Mark asked Megg.
“Y-yeah. Thank you for rescuing me,” Megg said, blushing.
“Yeah, thanks for rescuing my sister,” Nett said, shaking Mark’s hand. “But I’m sorry for losing the data. Guess we’re back to square one.”
“We may be even worse off. I remember perfectly that Cipher was indeed behind the S.S. Libra’s disappearance, and they’re now planning a major attack on Phenac City,” Bitt chimed in.
“Are you serious?! But that’s where Marcia is right now!” Megg said.
“Exactly. So she’s probably in for a surprise when she gets there,” Bitt said, sighing.
“Who’s Marcia?” Mark asked.
“Duking’s daughter and our news reporter. If she catches anything on film while she’s there, you can be sure that Cipher will target her!” Nett said. “So be sure to find her and also inform the mayor of this incident!”
“Got it. Let’s get over there pronto!” I said.
“Yeah! And in the meantime, we’ll try to find the Data Rom again!” Alexis assured.
“One more thing. There’s the Prestige Precept Center in Phenac City, and its Gym Leader, Justy, is a good battler. I’m sure if you find him, he’ll be sure to help you take Cipher down!”
“All right! We’ll be sure to contact him AND save Marcia!” Ed said.
“And take back the Shadow Pokémon, too!” Michael reminded us.
“Thanks, guys. And be careful!” Nett said. And so, we were off on a race against time to protect Phenac City from Cipher.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 174: Sneaky Snorunt
Following a good night’s sleep, we traveled east. After riding Metagross for a while, we found the city known as Phenac City. It was overflowing with water, which came from the Phenac Stadium at the very northernmost part of the city. This would have seemed like a paradise amidst the desert had it not been for Cipher.
“Well, I don’t see Cipher’s goons around, do you?” Mark asked.
“Nope. Maybe they’re all in hiding,” Ed said.
“What do you think?” Alexis asked me. I shut my eyes and concentrated on the people walking through the town.
“Nothing seems out of the ordinary here. I mean, the people here are acting as they probably always do!” Michael said. He pointed at a boy running laps around the center fountain with his Duskull.
“That’s exactly it: nothing SEEMS out of place,” I said, feeling my scar activate. I then opened my eyes. “In reality, we’re too late.”
“Why’s that?” Alexis asked.
“They’re all Cipher Peons in disguise. There are some people in the houses who aren’t aware that Cipher’s attacked, but that’s about it,” I said, seeing who was really beneath the citizens’ disguises.
“That’s awful! We ought to take them all on!” Michael said.
“Slow down there, bucko,” Mark said, grabbing him by the collar. “When you think about it, this is all just a play. And we’re involved in it too. And the number one rules on stage is to always maintain character. So we need to do just that and NOT go rampaging about.”
“Interesting analogy, Mark,” Ed said awkwardly.
“When you’re a Coordinator, you’ve got to be able to perform in ANY situation!” Mark said proudly.
“Watch, this is me performing the part of me NOT wasting time,” I said. That earned me a punch from Mark. “…got it! Got it. Let’s go find the mayor,” I said. I looked around and saw an old man who WASN’T a Peon in disguise. “Excuse me, sir? Do you know where the mayor’s home is?”
“Why yes I do, kids! Just go up those central stairs and to the far left of the Pre Gym! That’s the Mayor’s house!” the man answered.
“Thank you!” I said. We followed his directions and went to the house. Inside was a woman in a pink business suit.
“Oh, are you looking for the mayor? He’s not in right now, kids,” the woman said to us. “I can let you know when *yawn* he comes back in. Man, I’m so bored…” She then turned to look at something on the desk.
“Is she…?” Alexis whispered.
“Yeah,” I replied.
“Then we’ve gotta distract her!” Michael suggested.
“Leave it to us,” Ed said.
“Let’s go!” Mark said. “Maybe a comedy duo act would get you going again?”
“Oh, hmm…yeah, that sounds good! Let’s see it!” They then led her away.
“Okay, Ed! Put this on!” Mark said, as part of the act. He pulled out a giant Magikarp suit.
“Right! This will help us find those Pelipper somehow! They just LOVE scooping up Magikarp!” Ed said, putting it on.
“Hmm, where could they be?” Mark asked. Ed slipped away and started eating. “HEY! You’re supposed to be the bait!”
“I prefer to eat the bait, myself!” Ed said.
“But you’re just lounging about and not helping me lure the Pelipper in with that Magikarp costume!” Mark said.
“No, I’m seizing the day by appeasing my hunger! KARP-e diem, right?” Ed asked. Mark took out a fan and smacked him on the head with it. At this, the woman began to laugh while we just stood there.
“My brother, lady and gentleman,” I said. That’s when I noticed Ed making a sign.
“That’s probably a signal telling us to snoop around!” Alexis said. We then ran upstairs. We looked around the mayor’s room for clues.
“Found something!” Michael said. He held up a note, then gave it to me.
“Well? What’s it say?” Alexis asked.
“Ahem: ‘Justy, there is bad trouble brewing! Of all places, our beloved Phenac is now the target of Cipher! Already, Cipher’s members are secretly taking the places of prominent members of our community! If something’s not done, the city will be taken over by Cipher without anyone noticing what’s happened,” I read.
“Some help this letter was,” Alexis said sarcastically.
“Well, there’s more,” I said. “‘Justy, I must turn to you for help. We need your abilities to overcome the crisis facing our city. You, as the Leader of the Prestige Precept Center, should be able to do something. It may be too late, however. I already feel threatened by…’”
“…by what?” Michael asked.
“Nothing. The letter stops right there,” I said.
“We’re in trouble,” Alexis said.
“And why’s that?” I asked, turning around. The woman had her Seviper out, who was holding a beat-up Mark and Ed on its back.
“Well, well. I’ll teach you a lesson for snooping!” the woman said, changing out of her disguise. “And I’ll take that letter from you! Snorunt, Seviper, go!”
“Seviper!” her Seviper said, dropping Mark and Ed. She also sent out a Snorunt, a Pokémon that looked like a black figure inside a yellow pointy cap.
“Urgh! Okay, that one’s a Shadow Pokémon,” I said.
“On it! Kingdra, Crobat! Let’s go!” Alexis said, bringing out Kingdra and Crobat.
“Snorunt! Use Shadow Wave!” Snorunt fired a Shadow Wave at Kingdra and Crobat.
“Crobat! Counter that with Heat Wave!” Crobat’s Heat Wave cancelled out the Shadow Wave. “Kingdra, use Bounce!” Kingdra bounced up into the air, distracting Seviper and Snorunt. “Crobat, Brave Bird!” Crobat flew into the air, allowing Kingdra to grab onto its wing as it used Brave Bird. Crobat’s attack hit Snorunt, while Kingdra’s Bounce not only hurt Seviper, but paralyzed it as well.
“Seviper, Poison Tail!” Seviper couldn’t move. “Grr! Snorunt, Shadow Wave!” Snorunt fired another Shadow Wave, this time hitting Kingdra and speeding towards Crobat.
“Crobat, Substitute!” Crobat made a Substitute of itself, blocking the attack. “Now, you two! Combine Heat Wave with Ice Beam!” Crobat fired a Heat Wave which combined with Kingdra’s Ice Beam to hit both opponents at once with incredible force.
Man, Lexi. You’re creating clever combinations left and right. I know you’ve definitely got the skills to be a Gym Leader now, I thought to myself.
“Seviper, Crunch!” Seviper managed to bite onto Crobat’s wing with Crunch, nearly breaking the Substitute.
“Kingdra, Whirlpool!” Kingdra’s Whirlpool caught both Snorunt and Seviper due to the closed space of the room. As soon as it subsided, Snorunt was reeling and Seviper was knocked out. “Michael, take it away!”
“Yes ma’am! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball at Snorunt. The ball took Snorunt in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “SNORUNT SNAGGED!”
“Argh! Well, it doesn’t matter! Delivering that letter to Justy will just be a waste of time now!” the Peon said, calling back Seviper and running downstairs.
“Hey, are you guys all right?” I asked Ed and Mark.
“Rrgh…how dare they ruin my performance? HEADS ARE GONNA ROLL FOR THIS!” Mark said, enraged.
“We’ve been found out anyway, so let’s get down there and give ‘em trouble!” Ed said, high-fiving with Mark. They then brought out Mew and Arcanine and ran downstairs.
“Wait, guys! Wait…ah nuts,” I said, following them. There was a loud explosion, and when it cleared, another Cipher Peon, along with his Shadow Pineco-a Bug-Type Pokémon looking like a pine cone-and Ariados, were passed out.
“That’s a spicy meat-a-ball!” Mark said.
“I agree! Overheat combined with Aura Sphere makes for a great attack!” Ed asked.
“Almost…” Michael said, recharging the Snag Machine.
“You…you won’t get away with this…Mr. Snattle is already…in control…” the Peon said.
“Yeah, that’s great, shut up. Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Pineco in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “Yeah! PINECO SNAGGED!”
“Great job! That’s two more to add to the list!” I said. “And great job, everyone! Thanks to you guys, we’ll be able to save the people of Phenac! Let’s get to it!”
“So much for remaining ‘in character’,” Alexis said.
“Ah, heroes are characters too, y’know! Anyway, let’s get this party started!” Mark said, shrugging. We then rushed out, ready to fight for the fate of Phenac City.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 175: Justys on Parade
“Metagross, Meteor Mash!” Metagross took down the opponent’s Absol with Meteor Mash, wiping it out. The Cipher Peon recalled it and scurried off. “How many does that make?” I asked Michael as we were finding random Cipher Peons, exposing them, and defeating them.
“I’d say that’s the last one on our side! How’re things on your end, Mark?” Michael asked as his Gulpin and Mawile took down a Peon’s Mightyena and Duskull with Shock Wave and Shadow Rush, respectively.
“Things are good on the east side! Ed and Alexis, come in! How are you guys holding up?” Mark asked over the Pokegear.
“We’re good! Just finished off the last one! West is clear!” Alexis answered.
“All right, then let’s all meet up at the fountain!” I said. We did, all worn out from taking down Cipher Peons who were posing as random citizens.
“Man, so many battles, so little time,” I said.
“So why don’t you let me take over for a while?” Deoxys asked.
“Yeah, good idea. Go for it,” I said.
“No fair! You get to rest while we-” Alexis started.
“Right! Okay, the only places we haven’t investigated are the Pre Gym and the Phenac Stadium, so those must be the places Cipher’s hiding the citizens of Phenac City,” Deoxys interrupted.
“If that’s true, then it’s probably the stadium. The Pre Gym looks too small to be holding a large amount of people,” Ed suggested. At that point, six men filed out of the Pre Gym. All of them were the same person: a man with glasses, long, blue hair, a long, white coat, and purple pants.
“These glasses are killing me! All right Justys, sound off!” the one on the far left said. The one farthest from him started.
“Six!” “Five!” “Four!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” they counted. “We did it we did it we did it!” they all said, rejoicing and dancing about.
“Uh, I don’t think it takes a special scar to recognize who THOSE six are,” Alexis said.
“Okay, then let’s…” Mark started.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!” the usual voices laughed. In floated Team Rocket on their hovercraft.
“What are you bozos doing here?!” Michael inquired.
“Well, we caught wind of Cipher attacking Phenac City!” Ashley answered.
“And we thought we could use this to help the winds of fortune blow in our direction!” Olson chimed in.
“Gawd, that one was just lame,” Alexis said ashamedly.
“Shut up! The name’s Olson!” Olson yelled.
“But I didn’t even say your name!” Alexis argued.
“…sorry. Conditioned reflex!” Olson apologized sheepishly.
“Hey, I recognize you!” one of the Justys said. “You two are the ones who tried to take our Pokémon a while back!”
“…uh, Olson, are you seeing a sextet, or is it just me?” Ashley asked.
“You and your urges,” Olson responded.
“I think it’s payback time!” the Justy said. “Camerupt, go!” He sent out a Camerupt.
“Seadra!” “Noctowl!” “Magnezone!” “Weezing!” “Breloom!” One by one, the Justys sent out their Pokémon. They sent out a Seadra, a Noctowl, a Pokémon that looked like a giant owl, a Magnezone, a Weezing, and a Breloom.
“Hey, guys! What are you gonna do? Gonna RUN AWAY?” Ed taunted Team Rocket.
“Not like you’d stand a chance against SIX Pokémon at once!” Alexis added.
“If only you guys had six Pokémon to counter these! Too bad you’re too weak!” Deoxys said.
“A real shame, it is. I was starting to think of you guys as tough!” I said.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING WEAK?!” Ashley snapped.
“C’mon! Let’s get them, Allison!” Olson said.
“You just did that on purpose!” Ashley yelled. “Anyway, let’s go, Rotom!” Ashley said, sending out her three Rotom.
“You too, Rotom!” Olson said, sending out his three Rotom.
“Ooh, nice lineup! Too bad it’s all for nothing!” Resix said. “Camerupt! Use Flamethrower!” Camerupt fired a Flamethrower.
“Looks like I’m up!” Ashley said. “Wash Rotom! Hydro Pump!” Wash Rotom used Hydro Pump to push the Flamethrower back and hit Camerupt for a critical hit, knocking it out.
“Wha-?! No, it can’t be!” Resix said.
“I’m up! Seadra, use Bubblebeam!” Seadra fired a Bubblebeam in Team Rocket’s direction.
“Mow Rotom! Counter that with Leaf Storm!” Mow Rotom unleashed a Leaf Storm to burst the Bubblebeam and hit Seadra hard.
“Rrgh! Uppity crooks!” Blusix said.
“You’re one to talk!” Michael replied.
“I’m not sure about this…um, Noctowl! Use Air Slash!” Noctowl launched an Air Slash at the Rotom.
“My turn!” Olson said. “Frost Rotom, use Blizzard!” Frost Rotom opened up and let loose a Blizzard that blew away the Air Slash and completely froze Noctowl.
“I knew it! I’m terrible at battling…” Browsix said, dejected.
“Don’t sweat it! I’ll just pick up where you left off! Magnezone, use Magnet Bomb!” Magnezone fired a silver orb at Team Rocket.
“Me again!” Ashley said, taking over. “Heat Rotom, use Overheat!” Heat Rotom floated in and used Overheat to disintegrate the Magnet Bomb. The attack even went to Magnezone, wiping it out.
“Gah! Okay, NOW you can sweat it!” Yellosix said, angered.
“Here we go, Weezing! Sludge Bomb!” Weezing fired a Sludge Bomb at the Rotom.
“Plasma Rotom! Get in there and use Thunderbolt!” Plasma Rotom used Thunderbolt to negate the Sludge Bomb. “Now use Ominous Wind!” Rotom then fired an Ominous Wind to blow Weezing into the ground for another critical hit.
“Grr! Okay, you’re the last one up!” Purpsix said.
“All right, if you say so. I’ll win this with sixfold power! Breloom, use Sky Uppercut!” Breloom charged forward with a Sky Uppercut.
“Fan Rotom! Use Air Slash!” Fan Rotom blew out an Air Slash that took Breloom down in one hit.
“Nooo! But how?!” Greesix asked, flabbergasted.
“Camerupt, Seadra, Noctowl, Magnezone, Weezing, and Breloom are unable to battle! All six Rotom are the winners, and victory goes to Ashley and Olson of Team Rocket!” Mark announced.
“W-well! That was kinda fun, Orson!” Ashley said.
“It’s Olson and you know it!” Olson said.
“We WILL REMEMBER this! Someday, when Cipher takes over the world, we’ll find Team Rocket and we’ll TAKE YOU DOWN!” Resix said as he and his brothers recalled their Pokémon and vamoosed.
“I hope that’s the last we’ll see of them for a while,” Alexis said.
“Then again, they weren’t such threats to begin with, were they?” I asked.
“Yeah, good point,” Alexis agreed.
“What’s going on over here?!” a voice said. It was a Cipher Peon disguised as an old man.
“Get out of our way!” I ordered.
“Why would you want to go an pick on an old man?” the Peon faked.
“I’m not; I’m picking on you! Deoxys, you take care of this!” I said, sending out Deoxys.
“Right!” Deoxys said.
“Rrgh…Nuzleaf, Swinub! Get in there!” the Peon said, realizing his cover was blown. He sent out a Nuzleaf and a Swinub.
“Urk! Okay, Swinub is a Shadow Pokémon!” I said, feeling the scar and seeing Swinub having a black aura. I left Deoxys to take care of things while I talked with Team Rocket. “You know, you guys have some serious battling skills. Maybe you could consider taking a leave from Team Rocket and…I dunno…fight with us?”
“Fight with you? The runt patrol?” Ashley asked as if I was joking.
“Are you joking?” Olson asked, about to burst.
“Well, I dunno. If you keep coming up against us, you might meet a bitter end,” I said.
“We’re going to get your Pokémon one way or another!” Ashley said. “So, no. We can’t really accept.”
“Finished!” Deoxys called. The Peon, Swinub, and Nuzleaf were unconscious.
“…uh, Ashley? Maybe we should reconsider…” Olson said nervously.
“Too little too late! Deoxys, if you please,” I said.
“Okie-dokie! First we add a little Psychic,” Deoxys said, using Psychic to bring Team Rocket and the Rotom all together, “…then we add a little Focus Punch, and BAM!” Deoxys then used Focus Punch to blow up the hovercraft and send Team Rocket and the Rotom flying.
“Why didn’t you accept their offer?!” Olson asked.
“Why don’t YOU take a chill pill?!” Ashley yelled at him.
“Personally, I’d rather take a vacation,” Olson said.
“WE’RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!!” they screamed, disappearing from sight.
“*sigh* Some people just never learn,” I said.
“Hey, Mike?” Michael said. “Swinub snagged, by the way,” Michael said, holding Swinub’s Poke Ball.
“Great! All right, let’s get into the Gym!” I said. We were ready to do whatever we could to free the people of Phenac City and thwart Cipher’s plans once again.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 176: Now That’s a Meowthful
After liberating most of Phenac City from Cipher’s goons, we stepped into the Prestige Precept Gym to speak with Justy and deliver him a letter from the mayor.
“Excuse me! But would all of you stay where you are?” I asked when we entered. There were some students at desks nearby, and Justy and an instructor were on the battle field in the center of the room. I mean, the Peons masquerading as Justy and an instructor. A third Peon posing as a female Trainer came over to me.
“What is it, sir? We’re in the middle of a lesson here!” she said. “But I think I could teach YOU some things…” she said seductively.
“Grr!” Alexis growled.
“Thanks, but criminals aren’t my type,” I said, shrugging her off.
“Why you-!” she said, revealing herself. “Then I’ll just have to take you down! Natu, Linoone! Let’s go!” She then sent out a Linoone and a Natu, a little green bird Pokémon.
“Big mistake, lady!” I said, feeling my scar burn and seeing Natu’s shadowy aura. “I choose-”
“I choose you, Mightyena and Moltres!” Alexis shouted, bringing out Mightyena and Moltres. “Just leave this slut to me!”
“Whoa. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that word come out of your mouth before!” I said, surprised. “Pretty hot, though!”
“Eheheh…Moltres, use Sunny Day and Ancientpower!” Moltres called up a Sunny Day, then let loose an Ancientpower at Natu, doing major damage.
“Linoone, use Headbutt!” Linoone ran at Moltres with a Headbutt.
“Mightyena, Sucker Punch!” Mightyena cut Linoone off and hit it with a Sucker Punch. “Now use Fire Fang!” Mightyena kept going and grabbed Natu with Fire Fang.
“Natu! Get out of there and use Shadow Blitz!” Natu squeezed its way out of Mightyena’s mouth and hit it with a Shadow Blitz.
“Don’t you take that! Iron Tail with everything you’ve got!” Mightyena used Iron Tail. Natu dodged it, but the attack ended up hitting Linoone.
“Is it just me, or does Alexis seem jealous?” Mark asked. Ed and I made huge "and how" head bobs.
“Linoone, use Dig!” Linoone dug into the ground.
“Moltres, Overheat!” Moltres peered over the hole and fired an Overheat into it. Linoone surfaced, trailed by the Overheat that scorched and KOed it.
“No! Natu, Shadow Blitz!” Natu flew at Moltres using Shadow Blitz. Moltres batted it away with its wing.
“Mightyena, finish it with Shadow Ball!” Mightyena fired a Shadow Ball that sent Natu flailing in our direction. “Snag it! Hurry!”
“Okay! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, charging up and throwing a Snag Ball. It took Natu in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “All right, NATU SNAGGED!”
“Grah! I’ll get you, my pretty! And your little boyfriend, too!” the Peon said as she ran off.
“Good riddance!” Alexis said.
“Way to go, Lexi! You took that one like it was nothing!” I said to her.
“Thanks, sweetie!” Alexis said, reverting to a more docile form. I was kinda freaked out at the sudden change, to be honest.
“Now then, let’s see who’s behind disguise number two!” I said to the instructor. She and the Justy impersonator took off their costumes.
“Well, nice job kids. You figured out who we are. But as long as you don’t battle treating your Pokémon as weapons, you’ll never make them powerful!” the female said.
“As you may have figured out, all the citizens of Phenac are just below this elevator!” the male said, pointing to the elevator behind him. “If you want the key, then too bad!”
“We’ll find it, and we’ll beat you if we have to!” Mark said, stepping up. “C’mon, Michael! Let’s do this!”
“Okay!” Michael said, stepping up onto the field.
“Very brave of you two! Roselia, let’s go!” the female Peon said confidently. She then brought out a Roselia.
“Don’t leave me out! Meowth, get in there!” the male Peon said, sending out a Meowth.
“Gulpin! Let’s go!” Michael said, sending Gulpin out.
“Umbreon! Action!” Mark said, bringing Umbreon out.
“Urk…we’re in trouble!” I said, feeling the pain from my scar activating. “They’re both Shadow Pokémon!”
“We’ve gotta have faith in those two,” Ed said.
“Roselia, Shadow Wave!” Roselia fired two Shadow Waves at the opponents.
“Umbreon, dodge using Dig!” Umbreon dug into the ground to dodge the attack.
“Gulpin, swallow it!” Gulpin opened its ginormous mouth and swallowed the attack.
“Uh?!” the Peon said in complete shock.
“Meowth! Shadow Rush!” Meowth ran at Gulpin and knocked it into the air with Shadow Rush.
“Umbreon! Now!” Umbreon resurfaced under Meowth, hitting it with Dig. “Now…wha?! Look out!”
“Umbre?” Umbreon asked, confused. Roselia had fired another Shadow Wave, this one dealing a critical hit to Umbreon.
“Gulpin, use Sing!” Gulpin used Sing to put Roselia to sleep. “That should do it!” Michael said, getting out a Great Ball.
“What are you doing?!” Mark asked. “Roselia hasn’t been hit yet!”
“Well, I want to try a new move, then snag it as quick as I can! Watch this: Dream Eater!” Michael said. Gulpin used Dream Eater on Roselia, doing major damage. “Snag Ball, go!” Michael threw the Great Ball as soon as the Dream Eater hit. Roselia was drawn in, and the ball wiggled until it clicked shut. “Awesome! ROSELIA SNAGGED! Way to go, Gulpin!”
“Gulp! Gulp! Gul?” Gulpin said happily until it started glowing. It grew in size and gained two long whiskers. When the glow faded, it was purple, it had red, beady eyes, and it was much bigger. “Swaaal!” it said.
“What just happened?!” Mark asked, getting out his Pokedex.
“Swalot, the Poison Bag Pokémon. Swalot is the evolved form of Gulpin. Its body can expand and contract at will, and it can swallow anything whole.”
“That’s incredible! And what’s more, it can use Sing AND Dream Eater! That’s just insane!” Mark said, befuddled.
“It learned Sing upon being purified, and it mastered Dream Eater while we were fighting off those goons a few minutes ago!” Michael said.
“Yeah, forgot to mention that. Sorry!” I apologized.
“Okay, Swalot! Let’s clean house!” Michael said.
“Swal!” Swalot agreed.
“Shock Wave!” Swalot fired a Shock Wave from its whiskers that caught Meowth.
“Umbreon! Use Faint Attack!” Umbreon struck Meowth with a Faint Attack. “Now use Swift!” Umbreon showered Meowth with Swift.
“Meowth, Shadow Rush! Hurry!” Meowth ran at Umbreon with Shadow Rush. However, Swalot jumped in front of it, grabbed it with its whiskers, and hoisted it into the air. “Wha?!”
“Finish it off with Sludge attack!” Swalot fired a Sludge that finished Meowth off. “Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing another Snag Ball at Meowth. It took the Pokémon in, wiggled, and shut. “MEOWTH SNAGGED! Great job, you guys!” Michael called. Swalot and Umbreon agreed as they high-fived.
“This is impossible! Nobody beats Cipher! NOBODY!” the male Peon said.
“Let’s bail!” the female said. They then scattered and outmaneuvered us, getting out the exit. “You won’t save the people, and you won’t save yourselves! Hahahahah!” They then ran off.
“We’ll see about that,” I said, clenching my fist. Indeed, we had a battle to finish, and a city to save. And no matter who we faced, no matter what came against us, we WOULD win and save everyone together.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 177: No Need to Shadow Panic
“Okay, we’ve pretty much cleared out the city. What’s left?” I asked.
“What’s left?! Are you kidding?! We have to get into the basement and free those citizens!” Mark said.
“Okay. How do we do that?” I asked.
“We just open up the elevator here!” Mark said.
“Okay. How do we do that?” I asked, irritated.
“Um…good question…oh! Umbreon, hey! Could you use Psychic on this?” Mark asked Umbreon.
“Umbre!” Umbreon said, then started to use Psychic.
“No! If you do that to lift it, it could break, its programming would screw up, and it’d never work again! Then they’d be stuck down there!” Ed said.
“Seems to me that we’d better search around. Any plans?” Alexis asked.
“Just the obvious one! Deoxys, help us out, would you?” I asked, bringing out Deoxys. We then went outside.
“Yeah! I can bring my aura out and spread it all over the city! That’ll give me an aerial view and allow me to see just where the key is!” Deoxys said.
“Not only that, but the authorities will see it and come to capture these Cipher goons!” Michael said.
“…er, yeah! Just what I was going to say! Now then…let’s GO!” Deoxys said, sending its aura into the sky and exploding it into an aurora.
“Wow…it’s so beautiful!” Michael said.
“Yeah,” I said. That made me think: Hmm, maybe I should ask Deoxys to do that when I propose to Alexis.
“It’s fading! Deoxys must’ve found it!” Ed said. Deoxys’ aura returned to me.
“Nope. Nothing. It must be around here somewhere, though,” Deoxys said.
“Let’s try the only place we haven’t been: the Phenac Stadium,” I said. With that, we went up the stairs and into the Stadium entrance. The receptionist area was empty except for water flowing in from above. We went through the door leading into the Stadium’s battleground. We almost immediately saw two more Cipher Peons.
“Hey, Faltly! Intruders!...and a cute little one, too,” the female one said, stroking Michael’s hair. Although disgusted, Michael couldn’t help but blush.
“Enough patronizing, Ezin! Let’s take ‘em out and get ourselves some points with Mr. Snattle!” the male one said.
“Just try it! Deoxys, let’s take care of this!” I said.
“Oh, this is gonna be fun!” Deoxys said as it moved forward.
“Mind if I join in? Aggron, let’s go!” Ed said, sending in Aggron.
“Spearow! Get in there!” Ezin said, sending a Spearow, a little sparrow-like Pokémon with a big beak and even bigger talons.
“Grimer! You’re up!” Faltly said, bringing out a Grimer, a Pokémon that looked like a purple sludge blob with a head and hands.
“ACK! Both of them are Shadow Pokémon, guys!” I said, my scar burning.
“It occurs to me…why do they only use their Shadow Pokémon? I mean, we snag them, and then the Trainers just run. Don’t they have any other Pokémon with them?” Ed inquired.
“Shadow Pokémon are definitely stronger than their former selves. I’d say if their Shadow Pokémon are gone, these Peons wouldn’t be too confident they can beat us anymore. That’s probably why they run,” Deoxys guessed.
“…what? That doesn’t make any sense!” I said.
“Look, I’m not complaining as long as they go down,” Deoxys said. “Evil must be dealt with, and if it can be dealt with this way, that’s good enough for me!”
“Underachiever,” I retorted. “Anyway, let’s start off with Zap Cannon!” Deoxys launched a Zap Cannon at Spearow, which it just barely dodged.
“Spearow! Shadow Panic!” Spearow sent out a Shadow Panic, which got both Deoxys and Aggron.
“Oh, no! Snap out of it!” I said to Deoxys.
“Give 'em the old razzle dazzle…” Deoxys chanted.
“Ah, crap,” I said, exasperated.
“It’s not over until it’s over! Aggron, Thunderbolt!” Ed commanded.
“Aggron, Aggron…” Aggron said, striking Deoxys. Deoxys immediately fought back.
“Aw nerts. They’ve lost it,” Mark said.
“Haha! Looks like you boys couldn’t be more out of control!” Ezin laughed.
“Grimer, let’s add to their misery! Shadow Hold!” Grimer sent out a Shadow Hold that ensnared Deoxys and Aggron, preventing them from being substituted. “Now use Shadow Blitz!” Grimer oozed its way to Aggron and bashed it with a Shadow Blitz.
“No! Aggron!” Ed said.
“And now your turn! Shadow Blitz!” Grimer nailed Deoxys with another Shadow Blitz.
“It’ll take more than that to take Deoxys down! Deoxys, use Psycho Boost!” I said.
“Sorry, but your princess is in another castle! Duh-huh, that’s the thing that would make five-year-olds curse!” Deoxys said.
“Despite it being out of its mind, Deoxys has a point,” I noted.
“Focus, guys! They’re coming back!” Alexis called out.
“Spearow, it’s your turn! Shadow Blitz!” Spearow landed a Shadow Blitz on both Deoxys and Aggron, who fell on their faces.
“Guys, get up!” Ed shouted. Aggron snapped out of confusion, but Deoxys was still dazed. “All right, we’ll have to do something about that Spearow! Double-Edge!” Aggron charged into Spearow and hit it with a critical-hit Double-Edge, wiping it out. “Hurry, Michael!”
“Yeah! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It flew over to Spearow, drew it in, wiggled, then clicked. “Okay! SPEAROW SNAGGED! Good luck with the other one!”
“Yeah, I’ve got an idea about Loopy over there,” Ed said. “Aggron, here’s the plan!” Aggron came over and listened as Ed whispered his plan. Aggron gave Ed a thumbs-up and went over between Deoxys and Grimer.
“Aggron, Agg! Aggron Aggron!” Aggron taunted.
“Huh? Piñata? Sure I’ll break it!” Deoxys said. “Let’s try a super-special PSYCHO BOOST!” Deoxys fired a Psycho Boost at Aggron, who zipped out of the way. Grimer got that face that said “oh, crap” and started to run, but got blasted into next week by the attack. Being a super-effective move, it knocked Grimer out.
“…there! All right! Snag Ball, take two!” Michael said, charging up the Snag Machine then throwing the Snag Ball. It took Grimer in and wiggled until Grimer was captured. “Yeah! GRIMER SNAGGED!”
“This can’t be! Mr. Snattle will be furoius when he finds out!” Faltly said, horrified.
“I don’t want to see what that’s like! I’m gone!” Ezin said, running out the other exit. Faltly swiftly followed.
“Yeah, that’s right! Run!” Mark called after them.
“Hey, Goofy. Wake up,” I said.
“And-a one, two, buckle my shoe! Three, four, shut the-huh?! What…what happened? Did we win?” Deoxys asked, having snapped out of its confusion.
“Not your proudest moment, but yeah,” I said.
“You mean…?...I think…I think I need to lie down,” Deoxys said, ashamed. It tapped its ball and went back inside.
“S’arright, nobody’s judging you. To your face,” I said, saying the last part to the side.
“I heard that!” Deoxys snapped.
“All right! Time to face the big boss!” Mark said. As soon as he said that, we turned to see Snattle a ways away, and we were ready to take him and his plans down.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 178: I Don’t Like Your Lunatone, Mister
“Well, little girl. I’m afraid you’ve caught too much of our plans on that video camera. Give it to me,” said Snattle, a man in a weird, silver suit with coattails, sunglasses, and a purple and white conehead hairdo.
“Forget it! You can’t have our videotape! You can’t do this to the press!” said a girl about my age. She and her cameraman were being cornered by the aforementioned conehead and a Cipher commander who was dressed like Naps.
“For a prisoner, you’re certainly…what’s the term? Hard-nosed, that’s it. But you WILL hand it over! You see, I, Snattle, have been promised the position of governor of Orre by Master Greevil when Cipher takes over. And if anyone found out that I’d been muzzling the Phenac citizens, that wouldn’t look good for me or my pristine political record. So. Hand it over!” he replied.
“Your attire looks bad enough; you’re really worried about your record?” Mark asked. We’d surrounded them by this point.
“YOU DARE INSULT MY LOOKS?!” Snattle snapped.
“You’re not going to stop the broadcasts!” I said. “As a member of the PWE, I demand you cease at once! At least one of the following things WILL be happening: one, these tapes get back to ONBS and get broadcasted, or two, you will be placed under arrest for detainment of innocent citizens as well as your other crimes!”
“Man, it’s good to be a big-shot, isn’t it?” Alexis asked, smirking.
“You’d better believe it, babe!” I replied, winking.
“I see. So, a member of the PWE figured me out? And with the child who wields the Snag Machine, no less,” Snattle observed. “Let’s see, surrender and let the tapes get out. Let me think abou-NO. There’s nothing you can do to stop me! My position as governor of Orre is assured as soon as I defeat you and bring you in to Master Greevil!” Snattle said, flaunting about.
“Your position of Cell Number 13 is assured too, ya big carnie,” Mark said smugly. We all snickered at that remark.
“HOW DARE YOU!! You will pay for your insolence!” Snattle shouted at Mark.
“Aww, go cry about it to your crackhead stylist!” Mark replied.
“Shut up! He’s in rehab as we speak!” Snattle argued.
“Man, what a fruitcake!” I said regarding Snattle.
“That’s kind of offensive, bro. Nevertheless, he does seem a little…eccentric,” Mark noted.
“Boss, let me take care of this!” the Cipher commander said.
“No, Ergog. He’s gone too far! I’ll take care of this fool!” Snattle said, glaring at Mark.
“Hang on. How about you two battle BOTH of us?” I asked.
“Interesting. All right, I accept your challenge! Fall at the hands of the heavens!” Snattle said, lifting his hands to the ceiling.
“What?” I asked, confused.
“*sigh*…just, just go along with it,” Ergog said, embarrassed. “Seel, I choose you!” Ergog sent out a Seel, a walrus-like Pokémon with a horn on its head.
“Lunatone, grace us with your presence!” Snattle said, sending out a Lunatone. At this, Snattle’s necklace changed from blue to red, and his demeanor changed for the worse.
“ARRRGH!” I roared, clutching my scar.
“Hey! You okay?!” Mark asked, concerned.
“…I…urk…both of them…” I said, seeing shadowy auras around both Seel and Lunatone.
“Yeah! I’ll be at the ready on this one!” Michael said.
“Hang in there!” Ed said.
“Please…please, be careful, guys!” Alexis called out.
“Okay…I’m adjusted now. They must be really powerful. Espeon, showtime!” I said, bringing out Espeon.
“Now here’s the perfect pair! Umbreon, action!” Mark said, sending Umbreon out. The two Eevolutions grinned and nodded to each other, acknowledging that their rivalry was put aside for the time being.
“Seel, start off with Shadow Wave!” Seel sent out a Shadow Wave.
“Dodge and use Signal Beam!” Our Pokémon moved out of the way, and Espeon hit Seel with a Signal Beam.
“Umbreon, use Psychic!” Umbreon grabbed Lunatone with Psychic, but Lunatone managed to resist.
“Lunatone! Shadow Wave as well!” Lunatone also fired a Shadow Wave. Umbreon let go of Lunatone to dodge, but Espeon got hit.
“Espeon! Shadow Ball!” Espeon fired a Shadow Ball in Lunatone’s direction.
“Seel, Shadow Wave!” Seel’s Shadow Wave cancelled out the Shadow Ball.
“Now let the darkness fill the heavens! Lunatone, Shadow Sky!” Snattle chanted. At once, Lunatone sent out a black aura that exploded into bursts of shadowy light. Espeon and Umbreon kept getting pelted, while Seel and Lunatone acted like they weren’t taking damage at all.
“Damn! It must only target non-Shadow Pokémon! Umbreon, Dig!” Umbreon dug into the ground.
“Seel, get on top of Lunatone!” Seel jumped onto Lunatone’s head. Umbreon resurfaced, but Lunatone’s Levitate allowed it to dodge the attack. “Now use Shadow Wave!” Seel fired another Shadow Wave, damaging both Umbreon and Espeon. The Shadow Sky move damaged them again.
“Espeon! Quick Attack!” Espeon rushed at Seel with a Quick Attack. Seel held onto Lunatone with its tail as Lunatone rotated upward, taking in the attack. “I forgot Lunatone was part-Rock-Type! Use Signal Beam!” Espeon fired another Signal Beam, this time hitting Lunatone. However, Seel didn’t come off.
“Umbreon, get them with Swift!” Umbreon’s Swift hit Lunatone, who protected Seel again.
“Seel, another Shadow Wave!” Seel’s Shadow Wave did more damage to Espeon and Umbreon, who looked just about on their last legs.
“All right, we’re going to have to break this pair apart! Mike, got any ideas?” Mark asked.
“Let’s try this. Espeon, Sunny Day!” Espeon used Sunny Day to bring out the heat from the light above, cancelling out Shadow Sky.
“What?! No!” Snattle said, astonished.
“Let the light expel the darkness! Espeon, Morning Sun!” Espeon regained strength with Morning Sun.
“Umbreon, Moonlight!” Umbreon’s Moonlight worked with the light rays to replenish its stamina as well.
“Uh, uh, Seel! Shadow Wave!” Seel fired Shadow Wave.
“Espeon! Hidden Power!” Espeon fired Hidden Powers at Seel, then Lunatone. Both attacks were super-effective, and even split them apart. “Michael! Seel! Snag Machine! NOW!”
“You got it! Snag Ball, go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Seel in, wiggled a while, then clicked shut. “Yeah! SEEL SNAGGED!”
“And now it’s your turn!” Mark said to Snattle and Lunatone. “Umbreon! Faint Attack!” Umbreon hit Lunatone with a Faint Attack.
“Lunatone! Shadow Wave agai-” Snattle started.
“Umbreon! Sucker Punch!” Umbreon used Sucker Punch to damage Lunatone, keeping it from attacking.
“Espeon! Last Resort!” Espeon hit Lunatone with a Last Resort. “Now use Confusion!” Espeon gathered up the stars from the attack with Confusion, giving them to Umbreon. “It’s all yours, Mark!”
“Thanks, man! We’ve been itching to try this!” Mark said.
“Umbre!” Umbreon agreed.
“Shadow Wave after Shadow Wave! Take them down!” Snattle shouted frantically. Lunatone fired several Shadow Waves.
“All right! STAR SHOWER GIGA IMPACT!” Umbreon charged forward, letting loose the stars. Not only did they take out the Shadow Waves, but they restrained Lunatone long enough for it to be hit by Umbreon’s Giga Impact. A white light emerged with stars flying everywhere, and when it cleared, only a Poke Ball was left. It wiggled until it clicked shut.
“LUNATONE SNAGGED! We did it!” Michael said, the Snag Machine glowing.
“Duh! No! My…my position as governor! I’ll remember this!” Snattle said, running away.
“Seel and Lunatone are unable to battle! Umbreon and Espeon are the winners, and victory goes to the McCarver brothers!” Ed announced as Mark and I fist-bumped.
“Wow! You guys are something else!” the girl with the cameraman said, coming over. “I’m Marcia from ONBS! Thanks to you and that battle we recorded, Cipher’s going to be exposed big-time!”
“Wow! I hope I look good on TV!” Mark said.
“Know what’ll look even better on TV? The look on Snattle’s face when he lost!” I chimed in. We both laughed at this.
And so, we found the Elevator Key and released everyone from the Pre Gym. At last, the mystery of Phenac City had been cleared, and the day was saved yet again.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 179: The Perfect Sandstorm
After freeing the citizens of Phenac City from Cipher and rescuing Marcia, we spoke with Justy, the Pre Gym Leader, in his Gym.
“Well, I was a bit embarrassed that I couldn’t help out, but I’m still glad the town was saved. Thank you all very much!” Justy said to us.
“Happy to help!” I said. The others made similar remarks.
“So, you all are from Hoenn, right? Well, I’d like to see just how trainers from Hoenn battle, if you don’t mind!” Justy offered.
“What do you guys think?” I asked.
“I’m technically from Sinnoh now, but I’m game,” Mark said.
“Sounds good to me,” Alexis added.
“Sure thing!” Ed also said.
“*sigh* I’ll go update the Purify Chamber,” Michael said. “See you guys at the Pokémon Center.”
“…okay. Whatever you want,” I said. “That guy and his no-nonsense attitude…then again, with the fate of the world at stake, I can’t blame him.”
“If you all win, then I’ll give you information about Cipher that we just recently discovered, as well as the coveted Pre Gym Badge!” Justy said, bringing up a badge that looked like a circle with half sand, half ocean and a red “P” over it all.
“Aaaaand I’m back!” Michael said, back all of a sudden. “That information could really help us!...that, and I want to try the newest addition to my team! I’ll battle first!”
“So much for your theory,” Alexis said, nudging me playfully. I shrugged.
“It’ll be a series of knockout challenges. Two-on-two with no substitutions! Four wins and you get to face me for the badges! Let’s start!” Justy said, sitting at the console. “First up!” Michael stepped into the arena, and a female trainer in a blue jogging suit and orange boots and headband came up from the elevator, walking to the opposite side of him. “Begin!”
“Houndoom! Seel! Let’s go!” Michael said, bringing out his Houndoom and Seel.
“Wow. He chose Seel? Interesting choice,” Ed said curiously.
“We all need a Water-Type, right?” I suggested.
“Ledyba, Spoink! Let’s do it!” the girl said, sending out a Ledyba and a Spoink. “Ledyba! Comet Punch!” Ledyba flew towards Houndoom, all six arms at the ready.
“Houndoom! Use Ember!” Houndoom shot Ledyba down with just one Ember, rendering it unable to battle.
“No! Spoink, use Confusion!” Spoink lifted up Seel with Confusion.
“Seel, Shadow Wave!” Seel shot out a Shadow Wave at Spoink, but it did little damage and Seel ended up getting thrown into Houndoom. At this, Seel became enraged and entered Reverse Mode.
“Uh-oh! If this keeps up, Seel could get really hurt! Michael, you see it?!” I called.
“I do! I’ve got to reach out to its heart! Seel, wake up! Seel!” Seel, however, didn’t do it.
“Spoink! Shock Wave!” Spoink fired a Shock Wave at Seel, who had no chance of defending against it.
“Houndoom! Thunder Fang!” Houndoom readied a Thunder Fang to catch the Shock Wave, then released it on the ground. Seel looked up in astonishment. “Seel, please! SEEL!” At his urging, Seel left Reverse Mode and nodded. It then fired an Aurora Beam at Spoink, doing major damage.
“Interesting. Calling out to it…no, reaching its heart, will cause it to open up more!” Ed said.
“The more it opens, the more moves it learns!” Alexis said.
“And look! Its aura has diminished!” I said, noting the smaller shadowy aura around Seel.
“We can’t see it, you know,” Mark noted. I facepalmed myself.
“Seel! Shadow Wave!” Seel fired another Shadow Wave at Spoink, this time landing a critical hit and knocking Spoink out.
“Spoink and Ledyba are unable to battle! Houndoom and Seel are the winners, and victory in this match goes to Michael!” Justy announced.
“Way to go!” we cheered.
“Thanks, guys! And thank you, Houndoom and Seel!” Michael said.
“Rar!” Houndoom said happily.
“Seel…” Seel said, not quite open with Michael yet. And so, the knockout challenges continued. Ed’s double Brick Break from Aggron and Raichu took out the opponents, Linoone and Furret. In the next battle, Alexis used Mightyena and Moltres to completely burn out the opponent’s Kecleon and Yanma. After that, Mark stepped up and used Empoleon and Ninetales’ ice-shifting abilities to take out the opponents’ Plusle and Minun. After that, Justy came up.
“Well done, all of you! That was superb battling! But of course, for you all to win your badges, I’ll have to be the one you’ll fight next!” Justy said.
“Bring it!” I said. We took our places, with the first battler of the set taking the judge position.
“This official battle between Justy, Leader of the Pre Gym, and Mike of Littleroot Town will now begin! Each Trainer is allowed two Pokémon using Double Battle rules! Neither Trainer may substitute Pokémon, and battle will end when both of either Trainers’ Pokémon are unable to continue! Begin!” the Trainer said.
“Let’s get it on!” Justy said, sending out a Sandslash and a Cacturne.
“I see. Metagross! Gallade! Showtime!” I said, sending out Metagross and Gallade. “After you!”
“Why, thank you! Sandslash! Sandstorm, now!” Sandslash summoned up a Sandstorm by spinning around. The cyclone encircled all four Pokémon, battering Gallade just like Shadow Sky did to Espeon and Umbreon.
“Hey! Why isn’t Cacturne affected?” I asked.
“It’s ability, Sand Veil, raises its evasion during Sandstorm! This is actually helping it! And now, use Double Team!” Cacturne and Sandslash split into copies of themselves to avoid being hit.
“Damn, this isn’t good! It’ll be even harder to hit them now! Metagross, try using Earthquake!” Metagross slammed the ground with an Earthquake, but the Sandslash and Cacturnes jumped above it.
“Cacturne! Needle Arm!” Cacturne’s arm glowed and it hit Gallade with the arm, causing Gallade to flinch. “Sandslash, use Slash!” Sandslash slashed Metagross, but it did damage as a critical hit.
“Gallade, hang in there! Metagross, Psychic!” Metagross tried using Psychic to grab the targets. Just then, all the Sandslashes got behind the Cacturnes, and Psychic worked on nobody. “Oops, I forgot that Cacturne is part Dark-Type!”
“Sandslash! Use another Slash!” Sandslash went for Gallade this time with Slash. All of a sudden, Gallade rushed out of the way. “What?!”
“Huh?” I asked, confused. "How'd it get so quick all of a sudden?"
“It’s Gallade’s ability, Steadfast! It raises its speed every time it flinches! Gallade’s on a roll now!” Ed called.
Roll, huh? I thought. “Gallade, get on top of Metagross! And Metagross, use Gyro Ball sideways!” I said.
“Wait, what?!” Justy exclaimed, surprised. Metagross turned on its side to where its claws were holding it up, and Gallade jumped onto the opposite claw. Then Metagross started using Gyro Ball, and Gallade ran backwards to keep the momentum going as they rolled through each and every copy made by Double Team. “That’s…that’s impossible! Use Dig now!” Justy said. Sandslash dug into the earth, and Cacturne held onto it.
“Now, Metagross! Use Hammer Arm!” Metagross calculated where they would be, floated over, and used Hammer Arm to break the ground apart and send them flying upward. “Gallade, double Ice Punch!” Gallade sped up to the helpless Sandslash and Cacturne, freezing both of them with Ice Punch and causing them to faint.
“Sandslash and Cacturne are unable to battle! Metagross and Gallade are the winners, and victory goes to Mike of Littleroot Town!” the girl on the side said.
“That rocked, you guys! Y’all are awesome!” I said, running over to Metagross and Gallade.
“Meta!” Metagross said, happy to be back in the fight.
“Gallade!” Gallade said, taking a bow.
“You all are incredible. I haven’t seen battling like that in five years!” Justy said after consoling his Pokémon and recalling them. “You certainly are no ordinary Trainers. I see no reason to doubt leaving Orre in your capable hands. I award you with these Planet Badges!” Justy then handed me five badges which I gave to my friends.
“Thanks, Justy! WE WON THE PLANET BADGE!” I said, holding mine up. My Pokémon gave out a similar cheer.
“You do that every time you win a badge?” Michael asked.
“Now that you mention it, I guess so,” I said, not realizing it.
“And as I promised, I’ll divulge the information you seek: we found the S.S. Libra. It’s in the desert, not too far north of here. There’s a good chance Cipher got all the Pokémon on board as well, so you must hurry,” Justy said.
“We will. And thanks for the great matches!” I said. At that, he shook hands with us. And so we left Phenac City with a new task, a new friend in our hearts, and a new sense of being a team.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 180: The Huntail is On
“You want us to find a Banzai?!” I asked.
“Nah, nah. Bon-SLY! Bonsly! You know?” Perr said.
“Ah, here it is,” Alexis said, consulting her Pokedex. “It’s so cute! It looks like a little tree!”
We had returned to the Pokémon HQ Lab, purified some Pokémon, then gone to Gateon Port to modify Michael’s scooter for desert terrain. While there, Perr, Makan’s grandson and an acquaintance of Nett and Secc, had received an email from Secc about a girl who had lost her Bonsly on the S.S. Libra, where we were headed.
“All done!” Makan said. “Your scooter is now ready!”
“Thank you very much! And don’t worry; we’ll find that Bonsly!” Michael said. “Let’s go, crew!”
“It’s hard to believe how strong he’s become ever since he got the Snag Machine,” Ed said.
“Well, he’s rapidly becoming the hero of Orre. I can see some confidence boost in there,” I said. With that, we were off. We rode Metagross while Michael rode his scooter to the S.S. Libra…or at least, its remains. It was split in half and there was a hole in the hull, so we went into that hole.
“Hmm. Kinda dismal, isn’t it?” Mark asked.
“And yet, in such good shape. It’s a shame this ship went down,” I said.
“Don’t you mean up?” Alexis asked.
“Oh, right,” I said. “Where could this Bonsly be?” I asked. “Let’s split up!” We headed in separate directions, but a few minutes later, we all bumped into each other again. “I knew it; we’re lost!”
“Let’s just get to the top,” Ed said. He moved some boxes around to create a path for us to walk on on the levels above. We then found some stairs leading upward. After a while, we finally made it to the deck.
“Nice thinking, Ed. That saved us time!” Michael said to him.
“No prob,” Ed replied.
“Okay, that is the last of them!” a voice said. We looked around to see two Cipher Peons hauling Poke Balls. “Man, that was tiring!”
“But on the other hand, we now have a 65% advantage against our enemy! The odds are certainly in our favor!” the other Peon said.
“Might want to double-check your math there, buddy!” I said as we confronted them.
“Oh, no! Intruders!” the first Peon said.
“GRRROOOOAAAARR!” a familiar voice shouted.
“No…it can’t be…” I said, realizing the voice and feeling terror fill my heart. Sure enough, our monkey-like friend, Gorigan, came around the corner.
“SO! I didn’t expect to run into you kids again! Back for another beating?” Gorigan roared.
“Gorigan…you bastard…” I said, my scar burning with rage.
“Gorigan?! You mean…?” Mark asked.
“That's right. The guy who attacked us and took a friend’s Pokémon near Fuschia City,” Ed said.
“And what’s worse, he nearly killed Mike!” Alexis said, shuddering.
“You got lucky last time, kid, but you’re on MY turf now!...but I’ve got more important things to do, like get these Poke Balls back to the Lair. Snidle! Take care of them!” Gorigan said, going off.
“Yes, sir!...and now, Smarton! I leave this in your hands!” Snidle said.
“Me?! Didn’t he just tell you to fight them?!” the other Peon objected.
“Yes, but if you were to haul the Poke Balls back with Mr. Gorigan, you would take 28% more effort, making Mr. Gorigan’s mood 72% fouler. But if I were to help and you were to battle these kids, the numbers would be more favorable. I’m sure you understand. K THX!” Snidle explained, running off.
“Wait!...nerd. Fine, whatever. I’ll take you on. Huntail! Koffing! Get in there!” Smarton said, sending out a Huntail and a Koffing.
“Leave this to me!” Michael said. “Leafeon! Seel! I choose you!” Michael sent out Leafeon and Seel to face them.
“Huntail, use Crunch! Koffing, Sludge Bomb!” Huntail leapt at Leafeon with a Crunch attack, while Koffing sent a Sludge Bomb in Seel’s direction.
“Leafeon and Seel! Combine Razor Leaf with Shadow Wave!” Seel sent out a Shadow Wave, then Leafeon fired a Razor Leaf into it, causing a dark burst. The attack was a critical hit against Huntail, sending it flying into Koffing, both of which fell off the ship. We all then stood close to Smarton.
“Um, don’t mind me! I was just leaving!” Smarton said. “WOMEN AND CHILDREN LAAAAAST!” he said as he abandoned ship.
“Ooh, that had to hurt,” Ed said upon Smarton’s landing headfirst into the sand.
“Hey, kids!” a voice said. Out from the cabin came a worker-like man. “You drive off all of those weird characters? Thanks, they were creating quite a ruckus!”
“You live here?” Michael asked.
“Yeah. It may seem like a wreck, but I just happened upon it and made it my home! If you’d like, you kids can stay over all you want!” the man said. We agreed that we did need some rest, and so we did. That night, I woke up on the deck again.
“…wh-wha?! What am I doing out here?! And why am I standing up?!” I exclaimed.
“Yoo-hoo!” Deoxys said.
“WAH! Don’t scare me like that! I’m gonna get a heart attack!...and I’m only seventeen!” I said, surprised.
“Sorry, but I figured that this is your chance! The starry night, being atop a ship…” Deoxys started.
“A WRECKED ship,” I reminded.
“…and all it needs is my aurora and BAM! Perfect time for a proposal!” Deoxys said.
“What?!” I asked. I noticed then that the ring was, in fact, in my pocket. “But…but…I’m not sure I’m ready! I’d hoped to save it for…I might be…but I…there’s a chance…I don’t know…yeah! Let’s do it, partner!” I said, quickly changing my mind.
“All right! I’m gonna go do something to help her wake up, and then do my thing! Good luck, pal!” Deoxys said. Its aura then left me and went inside. I waited until it came floating back out and morphed into a thumbs-up. I returned the gesture, and the aura then went into the sky and became an aurora. Then I heard the door open.
“Mike, what are you doing out here?...whoa!” Alexis said, surprised to see the aurora. “What’s Deoxys doing?”
Didn’t expect her to be up so soon. “Deoxys wanted to get a birds-eye view to see if any more Cipher goons were coming,” I said.
“Still, you have to admit it’s so beautiful! Very romantic, even,” Alexis said, sliding up to my chest.
“Yeah, I think so too,” I said as I wrapped an arm around her. She took it and we watched the aurora. “Hey, Lexi? I was wondering…what do you want to do after this?”
“Well, sleep would be nice, but what’s stopping us from enjoying it a little longer?” Alexis replied.
“Nonono, this is nice, but I meant after we’re done with Orre. What are you planning to do?”
“…I’m not sure. I would like to study up more on becoming a Gym Leader. But most of all, I want to stay with you,” Alexis said. “What about you?”
“Well, I’m not so sure about adventuring anymore. We’ve had more adventures than anybody would in a lifetime, and…there’s always taking over Dad’s company,”
“Well, the adventures don’t just have to come in traveling around,”
“That’s true. What we have, us…it’s been one of the greatest adventures of my life, and I hope it’s the same with you,”
“Of course! It’s been a treasure to me! But it just seems to be going nowhere, what with us traveling all the time,”
“Oh,” I said, dejected.
“But I know there’s definitely more to come in our relationship,”
“Oh?” I asked, hopeful.
“I just wish it would happen,” Alexis said. I could’ve sworn she was glancing at me and away from me repeatedly after she said that.
“Well…I think maybe we should make it happen,” I said.
“You do?” Alexis asked. We then turned to face each other.
This is the moment! It’s here! I’m gonna do it! I thought. “I know we should make it happen. So…” I said, reaching into my pocket. Just then, we heard a loud noise.
“What’s that? It’s coming from below!” Alexis said.
“Yeah…yeah! It sounds like a siren!” I said.
“What’s happening?” the worker said, coming out.
“Everyone get dressed! Something’s going on!” I said, taking my hand out of my pocket. Deoxys then returned as I was changing.
“Tough luck, man. But maybe some other time,”
“Thanks,” I said, not too happy. We followed the noise downstairs into one of the storage areas. Inside was a Bonsly, just like the one we were asked to find.
“Look, there-” Michael started, but Ed and Mark grasped his mouth shut.
“You’ll scare it off!” Mark whispered.
“Well? What do you think we should do?” Alexis asked me.
“Hmm…using Psychic to lift it would cause it to cry more. It’s obviously been using Fake Tears. That or it’s just really lonely,” I said.
“Maybe if I cradle it, it’ll calm down. I’ll go over,” Alexis said. She then crept over behind it, and as she was reaching out to pick it up, Michael’s PDA went off, and it jumped. It then saw us, then ran for its life.
“No!” I said as we gave chase.
“Sorry! I never thought such a useful tool as this would work against us!” Michael said. “Fine time for Eagun to learn about email!”
“Don’t worry! I’m sure that…oh,” Ed said. By this point, we were exiting the ship from another hole in it, but we saw three bald men in red outfits. “Excuse me, but did you see something looking like a small tree passing by here?”
“Nah, nothing like that, pal. Now for me, Wakin, to ask: what are you guys doing here?” one of the men asked.
“That’s none of your business!” I said.
“Well, well! A fighter! Ooh, and with the Snag Machine!” Wakin said, noting Michael’s arm. “Master Gonzap will be most pleased!”
“What are you going to do?” Michael asked.
“Just a little speciality of mine! Say goodnight…literally! Gloom, Sleep Powder!” Wakin said.
“Gloom!” said a Gloom who jumped out from behind him. It then used Sleep Powder on us.
“Gah!...you won’t…get away…” I said, drifting from consciousness. I woke up, back in the cabin. “Was…was that all a dream?” I asked.
“I’m afraid not,” the worker said. “Look.” He pointed to Michael’s arm, and the Snag Machine was gone. Things went from bad to worse in just one night, but there was no way we would let this go.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 181: A Bronzor Album
“I can’t believe it…I just can’t believe it…” Michael kept saying over and over.
“Be quiet!” I said. “It’ll hear you!”
That part was just an intro; it actually starts not long after Michael had lost the Snag Machine. We had learned of the thugs from the worker to be members of Team Snagem, criminals who worked with Cipher five years prior, but now worked against them. Eagun saw them going off to the north, so we decided to go there, only to see them lose to that Trainer we’d found in Gateon Port with the Shadow Zangoose, Zook. They were battling in front of a HUGE pyramid-like building, probably the place where they developed Shadow Pokémon. After Gloom lost to Zangoose, Wakin and his men ran off, and then Zook saw me.
“Hey, you! Get over here! I recognize you from that port! Thanks to you and your blue-haired pal, I got a chewing-out from Master Gorigan! And I won’t tolerate losing to you again!” Zook said.
“Bring it on, punk! I took you down once, and I can do it again! Michael, want to help me?” I asked.
“I guess so. I mean, I don’t have the Snag Machine, but…” Michael said nervously.
“Don’t worry! We can always rechallenge this guy later! Just help me! Golduck, I choose you!” I said, sending out Golduck.
“Leafeon, let’s go…” Michael said half-heartedly as he sent out Leafeon.
“Zangoose, get in there! And Doduo, come on out!” Zook said, sending out a Doduo with his Shadow Zangoose.
“I’m not getting a reaction like before. Maybe I’m just used to Zangoose’s aura,” I speculated. “Anyway, Golduck! Let’s hit ‘em hard and hit ‘em fast! Rock Climb!” Golduck activated Rock Climb, sending the two Pokémon high up as it climbed its way up to them.
“Don’t think Zangoose hasn’t been modified! Zangoose, Shadow Rush!” Zangoose leapt down the mountain and struck Golduck, cutting it off. The ground returned to normal. “Doduo, Fury Attack!” Golduck kept taking hits from Doduo’s Fury Attack.
“Leafeon, uh…Energy Ball,” Michael said. Leafeon fired an Energy Ball at Doduo.
“Zangoose, Shadow Rush!” Zangoose’s Shadow Rush blocked the attack, then nailed Leafeon. “And again!” Zangoose hit Leafeon with another Shadow Rush.
“Michael, you’ve got to do something! Freeze up and Leafeon will go down!” Mark shouted. Michael had, in fact, frozen up.
“This is ridiculous! Get in the game!” Ed said. Nothing.
“Come on! You can do this!” Alexis called out. Still nothing.
“Michael, what’s with you?!” I shouted, holding him by his shirt. “Why won’t you fight?! Do you even care about Leafeon?!”
“I…I…Leafeon, Razor Leaf?” Michael suggested. Leafeon fired a Razor Leaf, getting Zangoose off of it.
“There you go!” I said, letting him go. “Golduck, Ice Beam!” Golduck fired an Ice Beam at Doduo, quickly knocking it out.
“Zangoose, another Shadow Rush!” Zangoose’s Shadow Rush hit a defenseless Golduck, but it managed to stand.
“Golduck! Hyper Beam!” Golduck fired a Hyper Beam, but Zangoose dodged.
“Another Shadow Rush!” Zangoose leapt at Leafeon and hit it with Shadow Rush. Michael only watched in fear as his Pokémon was knocked out. “Now it’s just one-on-one!”
“Wait,” I said. “That’s enough.”
“What’s enough?” Zook asked.
“This battle. We’ll have to put it on hold. That is, until SOMEbody can get their act together!” I snapped in Michael’s direction.
“…heh. Okay, we’ll leave it at this for now. But there’s still no way you’re entering this lair!” Zook said smugly. He then folded his arms along with Zangoose. We left, and that’s when Michael’s Spot Monitor got a signal.
“Hey! It’s the Oasis Poke Spot!” Ed said.
“Michael, this might be your chance! Catch a wild Pokémon and prove you have what it takes!” Alexis encouraged.
“We’ll also need SOMEbody to tone down the harshness,” Mark said to me.
“…look, I’m sorry. I just can’t ignore the fact that-” I started.
“No. Let’s go,” Mark said. I nodded, and we travelled to the Poke Spot. There, we saw a familiar Bonsly feeding on Poke Snacks.
“I can’t believe it…I just can’t believe it…” Michael kept saying over and over.
“Be quiet!” I said. “It’ll hear you!”
That part was just an intro; it actually starts…oh. I said that already.
“Yeah…sorry,” Michael said.
“Let me try this again…” Alexis said. She then crept up to the Bonsly, but then stopped short. She then cleared her throat, and the Bonsly turned to face her. “Hey, little guy! It’s okay! We want to take you back to your Trainer! Won’t you come with us?” she asked. Bonsly looked scared, but eventually, the scared expression changed to one of determination. Bonsly then went up to her and nodded. Happily taking Bonsly in her arms, the two began to laugh.
“Nice work!” I said. “Let’s get it back to Pyrite Town!” With that, we headed to Pyrite and spoke with Nett.
“Thank you so much! I’m so glad Bonsly’s safe!” a little girl said, holding Bonsly.
“You’re welcome! Glad I could help!” Ed said.
“I’m not even gonna start,” Mark said.
“So, Cipher stole the Snag Machine?” Nett asked.
“Yeah. We’re in a bit of a pickle,” Michael answered.
“It was Team Snagem, apparently,” I said.
“Well, there’s this guy who lives near an Outskirt Stand in the far southeast. He might know a few things,” Bitt suggested.
“Thanks, guys! Ready?” Alexis asked.
“Hang on, guys. Seel’s ready for purification,” Michael said, noticing his Shadow Monitor. We went back to the HQ Lab and waited on him to purify some more Pokémon and then make adjustments to the Purify Chamber.
“Don’t you think you were a little hard on him?” Alexis asked me.
“Maybe, but I don’t want him to feel USELESS. It’s not just about the snagging; he’s a great battler and he’s become so strong. Besides, it’s not like we’re not going to try to get the Snag Machine back,” I explained.
“True, but maybe the proof is in the doing. Let me battle along with him next time we get a chance, and I’ll try to convince him,” Alexis suggested.
“So my words are too harsh?” I asked irritably.
“…I certainly think so,” Alexis said, turning away.
“…yeah…” I said, realizing what a dick I’d been. “All right, maybe you’d have a better chance than me. After all, women are definitely more convincing.”
“It’s just one of our talents,” Alexis said, perking back up. “Don’t worry, we all have those kind of days. Just try to be nicer to him from now on, ‘K?”
“‘K,” I replied. We then kissed before going to meet with the others. We were then on our way to this Outskirt Stand, which looked like a train engine or something.
“Guys?” Mark asked. “I think Miror B.’s here,” He was holding a beeping Miror B. Radar.
“Well, here’s your chance,” I said to Alexis.
“Right. Plus, I’ve been dying to show up that tone-deaf dickweed!” Alexis said, cracking her knuckles. We saw Miror B. come out the Stand with Trudly and Folly, and they were chasing a Pokémon that looked like a blue plate with eyes and markings on its back.
“Huh? Do I know you from somewhere?” Miror B. asked us, stopping.
“If not, then you will after this! Leave that Pokémon alone!” Alexis said.
“Well, little missie, that is a Bronzor, a Pokémon rare to this region! If we own it, Team Miror B. will gain more power! So we will gain it!” Miror B. said.
“We…we won’t let you!” Michael shouted as Bronzor hid behind him.
“Where’d that confidence come from?!” Mark asked.
“Seems he found something to fight for,” Ed replied.
“Well, well. It seems I’m going to have to teach you children a lesson or two! LET THE MUSIC PLAY!” Miror B. said as the music started. He then sent out two of his Ludicolo.
“Okay, I REALLY want to know where that music is coming from!” Mark shouted, annoyed.
“Nidoqueen, let’s go!” Alexis said.
“Seel, I choose you!” Michael said. The two sent out Nidoqueen and Seel.
“FWOHOHOHO! Those things won’t stop me! Numbers One and Two, Rain Dance and Hydro Pump!” Miror B. said.
“Wasn’t he splitting up their names by syllable?! Why change it?” Ed asked.
“Does the term ‘boredom’ mean anything to you?” Mark answered. The first Ludicolo sent out a Rain Dance while the other fired a Hydro Pump at Nidoqueen.
“Nidoqueen, dodge and use Poison Jab!” Nidoqueen jumped up and came down on Number Two with a Poison Jab, dealing a ton of damage.
“…Seel, use Ice Beam!” Seel fired an Ice Beam at Number One, but it only did a little damage.
“Number One! Show them a REAL Ice Beam!” Ludicolo Number One hit Seel with an Ice Beam that froze it.
“No! Seel!” Michael said. He then started to break down again.
“Oh, no. Come o-” I started, but then stopped. I remembered that I had promised to let Alexis handle it.
“Michael, don’t just give up! Just because something goes wrong doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world! Your Pokémon are counting on you!” Alexis encouraged.
“……..I…Seel…c’mon, Seel! I know you win! Show us your true power!” Michael shouted. Suddenly, as the ice cracked, Seel glowed. Its tail came together, it grew a horn, and its flippers turned into fins, then the glow dissipated and it looked slightly different from before.
“Dew-GONG!” it said.
“What is it?!” I asked, taking out my Pokedex.
“Dewgong, the Sea Lion Pokémon. Dewgong is the evolved form of Seel. Its streamlined body has little drag in water, and it can easily withstand extreme cold.”
“All right! I…I can do this! I know it! Because my Pokémon and my friends are with me!” Michael said, looking about him. We all smiled, and I even threw in a thumbs-up. Bronzor looked curious at this. “Dewgong, Sheer Cold!” Dewgong fired off a Sheer Cold. Number One dodged it, but it hit Number Two, freezing it and knocking it out.
“That’s the way! Nidoqueen, Shadow Claw!” Nidoqueen struck Ludicolo with a Shadow Claw.
“Ludicolo, use Solarbeam!...no, wait! Use Hydro Pump!” Ludicolo looked confused at what to do because of the weather.
“Let me clear things up for you! Sunny Day!” Nidoqueen used Sunny Day before Ludicolo managed to get a Hydro Pump fired off, diminishing its power. “Now let’s finish this with Superpower!” Nidoqueen used Superpower to pick Ludicolo up and slam it into the ground, knocking it out.
“NOOOOOO-no-no-no-no-no! This won’t do! My tempo’s been thrown off again!” Miror B. shouted, clearly upset. “This isn’t over, kiddies! Team Miror B. will get you yet!” After recalling the Ludicolo, Miror B. and his cronies ran away.
“Way to go, Michael! I was wrong for getting on you like that. I guess I’ve got a thing or two to learn, don’t I?” I asked.
“Well, I think I do as well. About keeping my cool, I mean. Speaking of which, I think we’re cool,” Michael said as we shook hands. “And how about you, Bronzor? Now that you’re free, where will you go?”
“Bronzor…” Bronzor said, thinking. It looked a little timid.
“…how about you come with me?” Michael offered. Bronzor looked surprised at this, then started thinking again.
“…Bronzor! Bronzor!” Bronzor said, floating up and nuzzling Michael as he laughed.
“Looks like we’ve got a new friend!” Ed said.
“Yeah! One who’s as shy as its Trainer!” Mark noted.
“Whaddya mean by that?!” Michael snapped.
“All right. Now that we’ve built up your confidence again, it’s time we got that Snag Machine back! We’re gonna do what we can for you, Michael! After all, that’s what friends do, right?” I told Michael.
“Right!” Michael answered. He went to put Bronzor in a Poke Ball, and Alexis hugged me, smiling a kind of smile I hadn’t seen in a good while. With all our friendships clean once again, we were ready to search for the Snag Machine and Team Snagem.

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 182: Battle Skars
“Bronzor! Secret Power!” Bronzor fired out a pink wave that hit Linoone, causing it to become paralyzed.
“Zigzagoon! Headbutt!” Zigzagoon hit Houndoom with Headbutt, but Houndoom seemed okay.
“Houndoom! Try a Will-O-Wisp!” Houndoom sent out a Will-O-Wisp at Zigzagoon, who dodged. “Quick, Bronzor! Confusion!” Bronzor brought the attack back around to hit Zigzagoon, burning it.
“Ow, man! That was tough!” Willie, a rider, said. “Linoone, try Dig!” Linoone dug underground.
“Houndoom, get ready to use Ember!” Michael said. Linoone came out of the ground, and Houndoom sense it, so the Ember was right on the mark. “Now, Bronzor! Confusion!” Bronzor’s Confusion rammed Linoone and Zigzagoon together, knocking them out.
“Linoone and Zigzagoon are unable to battle! Houndoom and Bronzor are the winners, and victory goes to Michael!” Alexis announced.
“Great job, man! That pumped me up!” Willie said, shaking Michael’s hand.
We were all doing our thing around the Outskirt Stand. Alexis was judging a battle between Michael and this guy named Willie. Ed was buying Poke Balls and such for Michael to use. Mark was stuffing his face with the extra food he’d ordered. I’d found the guy that gave Rojan the Shadow Togepi way back when; Hordel, I think his name was.
“So, where exactly is this hideout?” I asked.
“It’s on the other side of Eclo Canyon. Far northeast, around the area of the Cipher Key Lair,” Hordel said.
“Got it. And by the way…thanks for defecting from Cipher,” I said.
“My pleasure. I couldn’t stand the things they were doing to Pokémon, so I wanted to do what I could to make things better for them. I hope my Elekid is doing well,” Hordel said, making me think about the Elekid he’d traded Rojan. “However, there is one thing I forgot about: XD001.”
“Shadow Lugia, right?” I asked.
“I suppose. I never got the details, but it’s supposed to be immune to purification. If that’s the case, then what can you do about it? It’ll just be a machine of a Pokémon, destroying everything in sight!” Hordel said.
“We’re still working on that. But don't worry; we know how exactly how to take it down,” I said. “That reminds me…” I went off to make a call.
Later, we were heading in the direction Hordel pointed us: Team Snagem’s base.
“Here we are. Deoxys, think you can take a look inside?” I asked.
“Yeah. I’ll try to find that Wakin guy and make him signal you,” Deoxys said. Its aura then went inside the building. We waited a while, then a rock flew out the window of the second floor.
“And here I thought that they’d be on the top floor,” Mark said.
“That is often the case. All right, let’s move! Poke Balls at the ready!” I said, getting Girafarig’s Poke Ball ready. The others grabbed their Poke Balls and followed me in. Almost immediately, we saw a Snagem member. “Girafarig! Use Stomp!” I said, sending out Girafarig to stomp on his head, knocking him out.
“Nice! My turn! Sceptile, come out and use Grasswhistle on that one!” Alexis said, sending out Sceptile. It then used Grasswhistle to hypnotize another Snagem member and put him to sleep.
“Okay, Lickilicky! Use Wrap!” Ed sent out Lickilicky, who used Wrap on several Snagem members and threw them into a closet, and I locked the door.
“Mew! Use Aura Sphere!” Mark brought out Mew, and it used several Aura Spheres to knock a few Snagem members unconscious.
“Swalot! Sing!” Michael used Swalot’s sing to put the last member to sleep. We then went below the area Deoxys had signaled us.
“All right, this is the place!” I said. We went up the stairs into a conference room and saw Wakin addressing a rather large man with whiskers and hair resembling his whiskers.
“This is a joke, right?” the big guy said. “I can’t fit this Snag Machine onto my arm! It’s too small!”
“Actually, Master Gonzap, it might be that your arm is too bulky…” Wakin started.
“Don’t start with me! Do something about this!” Gonzap yelled. He then spotted us. “Huh? Who are you kids?”
“N-NOOO! It’s you again! I’m not giving this Snag Machine back! Gloom, get out here and use Sleep Powder!” Wakin said, bringing out Gloom. It used Sleep Powder.
“Girafarig, Magic Coat!” I said. Girafarig’s Magic Coat reflected the Sleep Powder onto Gloom, putting it to sleep.
“Oh no! Gloom, you’ve-” Wakin started, but then stopped as Gonzap stepped forward.
“Impressive. Now THAT’S a greeting worth my attention! Tell me, who are you?” Gonzap asked.
“I’m Mike McCarver, member of the Pokémon World Enforcers. Your buddy over there is under arrest for theft!” I said, pointing to my patch.
“HAHAHAHA! I’m sorry, there must’ve been a misunderstanding on our part: this Snag Machine used to be ours! But then one of our own went rogue and used it to take us and Cipher down! Now we know Cipher’s been using us, so we need this to bring them down so that we’ll be on top!” Gonzap explained.
“In a sense, we need it for the same reason!” Ed said.
“Is that so? Then I’ll make you a deal: battle with me. Winner gets the Snag Machine!” Gonzap offered.
“Deal,” I said.
“What?! But boss!” Wakin protested.
“Shut your wordhole! No matter who wins, all that matters is that Cipher loses!” Gonzap argued. “Plus, I like this kid. Fearless, determined, strong…a true leader! In a sense, we’re a lot alike!” I just scowled at the thought of being like a thief. “Okay! Skarmory and Whiscash! Let’s go!” Gonzap sent out a Skarmory and a Whiscash.
“You’re up, Girafarig! And you too, Gallade!” I said, letting Girafarig get in there and sending Gallade out.
“Skarmory! Start out with Spikes!” Skarmory sent out red spikes at my party.
“What?! But that move only works on substituted Pokémon!” Ed said.
“Skarmory! Use Air Cutter!” Skarmory sent out several Air Cutters that blew up the Spikes right when they were directly in front of Girafarig and Gallade, doing a ton of damage.
“Great combo. Girafarig, use Thunder!” Girafarig fired a Thunder at Skarmory, which Whiscash intercepted, since it was part Ground-Type. “Rrgh! Gallade, Leaf Blade!” Gallade rushed at Whiscash with Leaf Blade.
“Skarmory, use Steel Wing!” Skarmory’s Steel Wing didn’t do much damage to Gallade, but it was enough to throw off the Leaf Blade. “Whiscash, use Waterfall!” Whiscash summoned up a sea of water to attack Gallade and make it flinch.
“Hmm…ahah! Girafarig, hit Whiscash with Thunder!” Girafarig fired a Thunder at Whiscash, who just took it in. “Hurry, Gallade! Close Combat!” Gallade rushed in at incredible speed, hitting Skarmory with Close Combat and doing major damage.
“How’d it get so fast?!” Wakin asked, confused.
“It’s Gallade’s Steadfast, dolt! Whenever it flinches, its Speed increases! But thanks to Close Combat, its defenses are down! Skarmory! Hyper Beam!” Skarmory fired a Hyper Beam at Gallade.
“Girafarig! Mirror Coat!” Girafarig intercepted the attack with Mirror Coat, taking a good bit of damage. The attack returned to Skarmory, but was again intercepted by Whiscash. “Huh?”
“Now, Whiscash! Use Hyper Beam as well!” Whiscash fired a Hyper Beam at Girafarig.
“Gallade! Confusion!” Gallade used Confusion to reverse the attack and make it hit a defenseless Skarmory. Although it didn’t do much, Skarmory was still a little weakened.
“Now’s your chance, guys! Hit ‘em where it hurts!” Mark called out.
“Roger! Girafarig, Thunder with everything you’ve got!” Girafarig fired a massive Thunder that went past Whiscash and zapped Skarmory. As it fell from the sky, knocked out, Whiscash suddenly gained its strength back. “Gallade, Night Slash and Leaf Blade!” Gallade ran forward with both attacks at the ready.
“Whiscash, another Hyper Beam!” Whiscash fired another Hyper Beam, but Gallade plowed through it with the Night Slash. As it was about to deliver the final blow with Leaf Blade, Gonzap initially had a startled look on his face, but then he just closed his eyes. The Leaf Blade came down, and Whiscash went down.
“Skarmory and Whiscash are unable to battle! Girafarig and Gallade are the winners, and victory in this match goes to Mike of Littleroot Town!” Ed announced.
“Guys, you rocked!” I said, hugging Girafarig and Gallade.
“Okay, Gonzap! A deal’s a deal!” Michael said, nervously approaching.
“Heh. You’ve got spunk for such a little guy. So, you’re the one who’s been using this?” Gonzap said, picking up the Snag Machine. “Well then, use it well and take those guys down, you hear me?!” Gonzap demanded, handing Michael the Snag Machine.
“Y-yes sir!” Michael stammered, saluting. He looked elated as he put it back on. “Guys, I think Zook deserves a rematch! And this time, his Zangoose is MINE!”
As we left the building, we knew that our mission was back on track and Michael’s confidence received a good boost. However, as we were beginning to head to the Lair, a familiar figure flew in…

Re: Pokemon: Legend of the Blessed Aura (Orre)
Chapter 183: Your Zangoose is Cooked
“DOOOOS!” Zapdos called, flying in from above.
“WHOA! LOOK OUT!” Michael shouted.
“No worries, no worries! It’s just my pal Zapdos! How ya been?” I asked.
“Dos, Dos!” Zapdos said, happy to see us. We had just left the Team Snagem HQ after retrieving the Snag Machine, and we were greeted by our flying friend, Zapdos.
“Here, in case you want to know,” Mark said, pulling out his Pokedex and showing it to Michael.
“Zapdos, the Electric Pokémon. Zapdos has both electric and flying elements and can create lightning just by flapping its wings.”
“What’s it doing here?” Alexis asked.
“Well, I did some thinking-and Zapdos has agreed with me on this, by the way-and I figured it would be best if Michael takes Zapdos,” I explained.
“WHAAAAAT?!” the others shouted in shock.
“Well, remember the prophecy we’d heard about Lugia? It went something like, ‘Disturb not the harmonies of fire, ice, nor lightning’,” I said.
“Yeah, that refers to the three legendary birds,” Ed said.
“Well, there was also the part about Lugia: ‘The guardian of the waters shall arise to quell the fighting; alone its song will fail, thus the earth shall turn to Ash’. That means these three are the key to defeating Lugia. Therefore, somebody should take Zapdos so that we can have all three of the birds around in case we find Shadow Lugia again!” I said, then nearly fainted from lack of breath.
“But why not you?” Mark asked.
“I had Deoxys probe Zapdos’ mind, and found that it likes to battle. Since I haven’t been providing it with an opportunity to battle, I feel it belongs with someone who will,” I explained.
“Dos Dos, Dos...” Zapdos said.
“It said, ‘I’ve never blamed him once. I will enjoy battling and spending time with you all, but…’” Deoxys translated.
“Hey, don’t worry. I’ve been keeping you cooped up. Michael here will be much better for you than I ever was,” I said. We smiled, then I hugged it. I then gave Zapdos’ Poke Ball to Michael.
“Mike…thank you. Zapdos, I promise to take good care of you!” Michael said to Zapdos.
“Dos!” Zapdos said. It then lifted us all into the air with Sky Drop, caught us on its back, and flew with us. It even held Michael’s hoverbike in its talons.
“Whoa! Now this is something I’ve missed!” I said.
“All right, Zapdos! Southwest to the Cipher Key Lair!” Michael said. Zapdos nodded and began flying towards the Lair.
“My stomaaaaach!” Mark shrieked, getting sick.
“Oh, quit complaining! This is awesome!” Ed said.
“WHEEEEEE!” Alexis shouted, giddy as ever. We soon arrived at the Key Lair, right in front of Zook.
“Whoa! What the hell?!” Zook said, surprised. Mark jumped off and went to puke in the river.
“So, Zook! We’re back, and you and I have business!” Michael said.
“We certainly do! Zangoose, Relicanth! You’re on!” Zook sent out his Zangoose and a Relicanth to battle.
“Zapdos and Bronzor! Let’s go!” Michael said. He sent out Bronzor while Zapdos stepped forward.
“Zangoose, use Shadow Rush!” Zangoose ran at Bronzor with Shadow Rush.
“Bronzor, look out!” Michael shouted, but Bronzor simply fired a Secret Power at Zangoose to hold it back. “Awesome! Zapdos, use Discharge!” Zapdos fired a Discharge that hit Both Zangoose and Relicanth, causing Zangoose to become paralyzed and Relicanth to pass out in just one hit.
“No way! Zangoose, let’s show ‘em just what you’re made of! Shadow Rush at full power!” Zangoose went into Reverse Mode, then charged straight at Zapdos.
“Zapdos, Steel Wing!” Zapdos used Steel Wing to hold Zangoose off. “Bronzor, Confusion!” Bronzor’s Confusion lifted Zangoose into the air while Zangoose took damage from the Reverse Mode.
“Zangoose! Get out of there right now!” Zook ordered, angered. Try as it could, Zangoose couldn’t break free of Confusion because of paralysis.
“Zapdos, let’s finish this! Thunder, now!” Zapdos fired a Thunder attack at Zangoose, completely wiping it out.
“No way!” Zook said.
“I’ve been waiting a long time to say this: SNAG BALL, GO!” Michael said, readying and throwing a Snag Ball. It took Zangoose in, wiggled, then clicked shut. “YES! ZANGOOSE SNAGGED!”
“Way to go, dude!” I said, patting him on the back.
“You were so awesome!” Alexis added.
“Zapdos sure fits you well!” Ed added.
“Uh-oh. Look out!” Mark said. Zook was coming forward.
“This…is…BULLSHIT!” Zook roared.
“Language! You’re in front of teenagers here!” I reprimanded.
“Shut it! You took my Shadow Pokémon, you’ve humiliated me tons of times…I’ve had it! I’m taking you down!” Zook said, running to punch Michael.
“Uwah!” Michael said, flinching. I then activated my scar, encasing Zook in a yellow shield. Michael was still turned away, but then he opened his eyes, then looked at Zook in utter disbelief. “What…where did…huh?”
“Hey…are you actually controlling that?” Ed asked.
“......I am. It's finally become second nature to me,” I said, surprised (while not letting it show). “Now then, Zook. You don’t want to punch the little guy,” I said. Zook’s rage calmed down over a while.
“…I don’t want to punch the little guy,” Zook said.
“You want to go home and rethink your life,” I said.
“…I want to go home and rethink my life,” Zook repeated. I released him, and he just walked away.
“THAT was original,” Mark said snidely.
“Oh, hush. We’re inside, so let’s go,” I said. At that moment, two bodybuilders ran out.
“Think again! There’s no way we’re letting you past this point!” one of them said.
“Nuh-uh. This Lair’s not for you!” the other one added.
“We’ll see! Gloom, Sleep Powder!” a voice said. We turned to see Gonzap, Wakin, and Wakin’s Gloom, who used Sleep Powder. Gonzap threw us some gas masks, and we put them on just as the Sleep Powder passed us and sent the bodybuilders to Dreamland.
“Nice work, Wakin!” Gonzap said.
“Heheh, I try!” Wakin said.
“Gloom, Gloom!” Gloom added.
“All right, kids! You’d better go on ahead! We’ll hold down the fort out here!” Gonzap said to us.
“Gonzap…” I said, amazed.
“Don’t think that we’re doing this for just your benefit! We’re doing this so that we can rise to the top and conquer Orre!” Gonzap assured us.
“…thanks,” I said. “Everyone, let’s go!”
“Not so fast!” a Cipher Peon said, running out. “Paras, Growlithe! Get them!” he said, sending out a Paras, a bug-like Pokémon with mushrooms on its back, and a Growlithe, the pre-evolved form of Arcanine.
“Rrk!” I said, feeling my scar activate. “They’re…they’re both Shadow Pokémon!”
“No way! There’s no way we’re going to snag both of them with a surprise attack like that!” Michael said, checking his Aura Reader.
“Unless you let me cut in!” Wakin said. He and Gloom jumped forward. Just then, a white hat flew in and struck the Cipher Peon.
“That white hat…!” Alexis said.
“Oh no,” I moaned, realizing who it belonged to.
“Vileplume! Get in there!” Andrea’s voice said. At once, she and her Vileplume jumped in. Andrea caught her hat in midair. “Let’s take this one together, whaddya say?” Andrea offered, winking at Wakin.
“Y-Y-Yes, ma’am!” Wakin said, unable to hide the red on his face. “Gloom, use Sludge Bomb!” Gloom fired a Sludge Bomb at Growlithe.
“Vileplume, use Acid!” Vileplume’s Acid struck both opponents. “Now use Sludge Bomb!” Vileplume hit Paras with a Sludge Bomb, landing a super-effective critical hit and knocking Paras out.
“Way to go! SNAG BALL, LET’S GO!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Paras in, wiggled, and clicked shut. “PARAS SNAGGED!”
“Y-You won’t get my other one so easily, though!” the Peon said. “Growlithe, Shadow Blitz!” Growlithe rushed at Vileplume.
“Gloom, don’t let it get by! Use Acid!” Gloom fired an Acid at Growlithe to stop its attack.
“Now! Use Sleep Powder!” Andrea and Wakin said together. Vileplume and Gloom launched Sleep Powders, putting Growlithe and its Trainer to sleep. “Finish it with Solarbeam!” Vileplume and Gloom charged up and nailed Growlithe with double Solarbeams, knocking it out.
“All right! Snag Ball, let’s go!” Michael said, throwing a Snag Ball. It took Growlithe in, wiggled for a short while, then clicked shut. “Yeah! GROWLITHE SNAGGED!”
“That one will take you places, I guarantee!” Ed boasted.
“Now then, we’ll keep him and these goons at bay. You get inside!” Gonzap said as Wakin dragged the Cipher Peon over with the bodybuilders.
“We will!” I said. “All right, everyone! Gorigan’s waiting inside! And he’s going down!” I said.
“You know it!” Andrea added. With a new teammate to add to our party, we were definitely ready to face Gorigan and bring down the Shadow Pokémon caper for good.
