Sneasel12: Impressed with the ghosts attack, it takes you a moment to realise you should be more impressed with Joe's performance rather than Duskull's, and quickly return your attention to the battle. Listening to your instructions, Joe yips a quick bark of understanding before spinning around and firing out his Ember attack which showers the immediate area and comes flitting down over Duskull. The ghost type takes some damage from the attack, retaliating by Leering Joe in place. Unable to move, Joe opens his mouth wide and Howls for all he's worth. His resulting increase in confidence also manages to intimidate Duskull enough to allow Joe to break free of Duskull's hollow stare and barely dodge the Night Shade aimed at him which zooms past and blasts into the gravestone you're hiding behind, smashing it to smithereens...

betagold: As a rule gender isn't something that is revealed until after capture, hence why an opponent Pokémon is always referred to as "it". The only exception is when a Love Ball is taken into consideration in which case the updator will reveal the gender of the Pokémon if the updatee intends to use the Love Ball for capture.

For some strange reason you feel the need to release your pent up frustration with Krabby by shrieking at it, an action causing everyone on the beach to turn and look at you including both Montag and Krabby. Quickly realising this is perhaps not the best way to deal with the situation you return your attention to the battle and relay your instructions to Montag who is quick to respond. While he's Howling up a storm Krabby shoots a Bubble into the sand at Montag's feet before leaping into it and kicking up a multitude of mud, covering both itself and a good portion of Montag's face in the gluggy mixture. Spitting the mud out of his mouth, Montag unleashes yet another Ember while Krabby shoots a Bubble right into it. The attack quickly fizzles out leaving some steam wafting in the air between the two battling Pokémon, but not before Montag gets off another Ember which succeeds in roasting Krabby's shell. It's looking quite weak now, but Montag's not much better off either...

Everyone is watching us... thought Beka. Perhaps he shouldn't have screamed... oh well. Since Howl was a miserable failure, this restricted them to two moves...
"Montag! Clear the mud off your face and listen! Use a constant combination of Leer to freeze him in place, and then Ember to cause damage! If he tries to Vicegrip you, Leer at him while he's in the air to freeze him up, and dodge any Bubbles he shoots at you!" The Houndour shook the mud off of its face, and turned to face the fearsome crab. Stupid type advantages... thought Beka.

Umbreon Ruler: Snover watches intently while you release Chloe from her Pokéball, knowing full well what your intentions are. Prepared for the upcoming battle, Snover waits until Chloe looks directly at it before releasing a chilling spray of snow from its mouth which washes over Chloe and succeeds in creating just enough of a powdery snow cloud to break eye contact and foil Chloe's use of Hypnosis. Shivering violently from the cold, Chloe looks up at the sky as a loud thunderclap breaks the silence and frowns worriedly upon noticing that a storm is on its way...
"Chloe!" Ward yells worriedly, looking at his frosty Poliwag. With the below-freezing temperatures, he knows it won't be long before his Pokemon passes out. But now he also knows that the Snover has proven itself to be dangerous, so he has no reason not to fight back. "Shake it off girl!" as she flings the snow off of her slick blue body, Ward fearfully notices the approaching storm, only adding to the danger of the battle. "Quick, use bubble!" a crack of lighting splits the sky, illuminating the area. "If that doesn't work, try another Hypnosis, and be prepared to dodge another blast of snow!" With a final thought, Ward curses himself for not teaching his Pokemon a wider variety of moves.

betagold: Montag shakes vigorously, sending the mud splattering in all directions before Leering at Krabby and freezing the little crustacean in place. Krabby is helpless to move leaving it completely open to Montag's next Ember. In a last ditch effort to prove it's no pushover, Krabby releases a Bubble that Montag dodges, but by this point Krabby is too weak to continue battling and keels over, KOed. Level up for Montag. With the little crab laying harmlessly on the sand Montag lays down for a well deserved rest, thankful the annoying crustacean is no longer able to torture him while he sleeps...

As small hail stones begin falling from the sky, Chloe unleashes a Bubble upon Snover who cringes as they burst against it. Appearing more and more concerned with each passing second, Chloe manages to dodge Snover's Powder Snow attack before hearing a little cry. Looking up, she sees Snover has been hit in the face with a falling hailstone and is having trouble seeing. The little frosted tree then fires off a Razor Leaf but due to Snover's blurred vision the attack whooshes right past Chloe, barely missing her...

Beka felt elated. He pulled out his pokedex to check on Montag, and was amazed to see that he had gained a level. Beka stood up. Montag wasn't in any immediate danger, so he focused his attention on the Krabby. Montag had gone up a level, so.... he pulled the level ball he had gotten from his starter pack from his belt, and enlarged it.
"Krabby, you're gonna have a nice home." He threw it, and watched as it engulfed the body of the little crab in a white light. The ball started to wiggle, as he waited on baited breath for the ding...

betagold: In future, please remember to link to the Pokéball or any other item you're using.

Amazed to see that Montag appears a little stronger after the battle, you turn your attention to the snoozing Krabby. Removing a Level Ball from your bag, you toss it at the little crab and watch with baited breath. Krabby is immediately sucked inside, and considering it's now in KO land, doesn't put up a fight. A moment later the capture light on the ball turns green, signifying your successful capture of a Lv.5 male Krabby.

And with Krabby's capture, you've unlocked your rights to the Egg House and are free to leave the Arcane Realm to travel in a main zone of your choice. Upon replying to your update UPN's Twilight Realm, Serebii's Fizzytopia, and Bulbagarden's Cascadia are available to you, but for the time being you may only choose one to adventure in.

Good luck, and have fun ^-^

So now Poliwag's moveset is Bubble and Water Pulse, correct? If it's not, then this post would be wrong.

Sighing with relief as the Leaves zoom past his Pokemon, Ward glances at the dark clouds, which have now moved much closer to the battle. Both his and Chloe's breath has gone shallow due to the temperature, and the trainer is almost afraid to inhale, for fear of an icy throat. Much to Ward's dismay, the hail has been getting stronger and stronger all this time, injuring his Pokemon a little more every second. With all of this adding up, Ward prays for a few more seconds, and then orders his Poliwag's only offensive attack, hoping against all hope that it would work.
"Chloe!" his gasps, "Use Bubble as much as you can!"

Michael places his feet on bits of the gravestone, using them as a brace as he tries to stand up. 'I sure hope this works.' He puts as much force as possible through his legs, sending him from a crouched over sitting position to a very wobbly standing position. 'Yes! My luck must be changing!' Michael shouts inside his head, punching his fist into the air. This sudden shift in balance causing him to fall once more. 'I really must remember not to press my luck.' He attempts the trick yet again, but the stones are muddy from Michael's shoes, causing him to easily slip off. 'Now I remember why I hate cemetaries.' Michael jokes inside his head, trying to cheer himself up, but to no avail as he contines to lay on his back and sulk.

    Water Sport, not Water Pulse.

Anyway, I'll be updating again tomorrow. It's after 5am in my little corner of the world so I'm going to get some sleep.

Rabid Squirrel: The sight of the skeletons in the chamber are enough to send your shrieks echoing throughout not only the room, but also along the maze of passages of the tomb itself, but after your initial fright you realise that panicking isn't going to get you anywhere and so you look around the room for a way out. Seeing nothing other than the Arbok statue, you read its inscription, the last line causing you to back up and read over it again. You're sure you know exactly what it means, but prefer not to think about it. You don't have to worry too much about that right now though, as the Seviper slithering from the statue's mouth has your full attention. Quickly realising Seviper is the minion you must defeat, you could swear you see the Arbok's head move slightly as you relay your attack instructions to Saruki. Reacting quickly, Saruki begins scratching at the sandstone floor, and while unable to kick up the Sand Attack he's hoping for, does manage to fling some loose sand and grit from the floor into Seviper's eyes. Seviper rears back, rising to its full height of almost nine feet while hissing angrily. With Seviper towering over both of you, Saruki is torn between running in the opposite direction or moving in to attack, finally choosing the latter seeing as there's nowhere to run. Leaping forward, she swipes Seviper across the belly leaving thin claw marks behind while Seviper strikes fast, lashing downward and coiling around in an attempt to squeeze the life out of Saruki, but the grit in its eyes is making them water heavily and it misses. Saruki is lucky this time, but this battle has only just begun...

Kami gritted her teeth, this was going to be a tough battle. 'What was that?' Kami thought as she saw something out of the corner of her eye.'Did that statue just move? Could it be that the statue was giving the Seviper instructions? Nah!' Kami's attetion turned back to the battle 'Whoah that was close!' Kami thought as Seviper barely missed Saruki. "This time start with Tail Whip to lower its defenses! Then Scratch it across its eyes! Follow up with one last Scratch!" Kami shouted.

(Thank you! I'll do the other lurkers of FB proud.)

Beka walked over to the Level Ball and picked it up. He clipped it to his ball and started talking to the Krabby inside. "I'm gonna call you Richard. Montag," Beka unclipped the Houndour's pokeball and opened it up, "Return. Let's get to a pokemon center. We need to get you guys healed." And with that, Beka walked off into the sunset, his first capture under his belt, and his competence secured.

Mr.Penguin: With the purple reptile wrapping tighter and tighter around your ankle you decide to check your Pokédex to identify the Pokémon rather than take any immediate action to get it off. Your foot has now gone numb as the snakes constricting body stops the blood flow, and after reading the entry and finally identifying the culprit as Ekans you decide to take action. Releasing Growlithe, your trusty companion stares at Ekans before Roaring loudly in an attempt to intimidate the snake Pokémon and scare it off. Still wrapped tightly around your ankle, Ekans stares back at Tojo and hisses threateningly at him. With Ekans completely ignoring Tojo's warning to get lost, Tojo moves in on Ekans who continues to hiss while tightening its grip on your ankle. Being careful not to hurt you, Tojo makes a quick leap forward and Bites down on Ekans just below its head but the end of Ekans tail flicks up sharply, striking Tojo in the side of the face forcing him to release his hold...
Marcus still shocked from the Wrap from Ekans had trouble getting up from off of the ground but succeeded in doing so. When Marcus got up he looked over at Ekans and Growlithe in mid fight. "Tojo please watch out for his speedy strikes. Whenever you see Ekans' tail flicker try to Dodge by moving to the left. If you get the chance to attack then use a Bite and see if you can hurt it. Then if he tries to retaliate let go of him and try to Dodge the serpent's attack." As Marcus commanded Growlithe to attack he looked at his friend and wanted to tell him what a good job she was doing. "Tojo you are doing great! Keep up your strong attacks." Marcus said as he looked at his Growlithe and cried with enjoyment.

Sneasel12: While you attempt to regain your feet Joe shoots you an annoyed glance, the expression showing he's unimpressed yet relieved to not be as anywhere as clumsy as his trainer. He doesn't have time to worry over your plight however, as Duskull is certainly keeping him on his toes. Concentrating on his foe, Joe shoots an Ember into the air above Duskull at the exact same moment Duskull unleashes a Night Shade. Joe is struck in the chest, sending him flying backward, and although the pain is taking its toll he quickly faces off against Duskull again, Leering it in place so that Duskull is unable to move away from the shower of Embers falling over it. After taking a couple of bouts of fire damage Duskull isn't looking too great, but Joe isn't exactly looking crash hot either though he's currently looking a little better off than his spectral foe...

Rabid Squirrel: Not entirely convinced the Arbok statue didn't just move, you can't worry about it right now as the battle between Saruki and Seviper is heating up. It's going to be a tough one, of that you have no doubt, and while you watch Seviper swings back toward Saruki after having missed him a moment before. Saruki begins whipping his tail about wildly, hoping to lower Seviper's defenses, but the move has a completely unexpected result as Saruki's Tail Whips Seviper right across the face as it swings in toward him. Startled, Seviper rears back again, hissing angrily, before lunging for Saruki once more. This time it succeeds in Wrapping itself around him, and as it begins to squeeze Saruki scratches wildly at it causing Seviper to loosen its grip just enough to allow him to wriggle free...

Umbreon Ruler: Try to be a little more imaginative with your attacks. Poliwag may only have one attack, but there are many ways in which she can use it. I'll use this update as an example of how, but next time please try to be a little more strategic.

Chloe fires a Bubble at Snover's feet, the ground turning muddy and causing Snover to sink an inch or so into it. The hail is falling harder now, pelting both Pokémon and causing more damage than the battle itself. Snover fires off a Razor Leaf, the sharp leaves whizzing past Chloe and grazing her in several places leaving some stinging cuts behind. She quickly retaliates by shooting off another stream of Bubbles directly into Snover's face, the bubbles popping in Snover's eyes and completely blinding it, if only for a few seconds. This small delay is all Chloe needs, as Snover is finding it hard to move because of the muddy ground and blows out a Powder Snow in a random direction. Luck is on Snover's side as the snow cloud heads straight toward Chloe, but she's ready this time, aiming her Bubble attack directly through the middle of it. The freezing snow causes the bubbles to partially freeze and this time as the attack pelts into Snover it causes the little tree to cry out in pain. Its vision clearing now Snover sets its sights on Chloe once more, Leering her in place and leaving her temporarily unable to move as the hail continues to fall...

Michael's face turns completely red with embarassment as Joe glances at him. He crawls his way over to another headstone, slipping and sliding the entire way. Michael leans his back against the headstone and sets his backpack on his legs. He eyes around to look for some way to gain an advantage over the Duskull. 'Let's see... what can I do here...' He notices a large patch of somewhat dried out grass just a little behind Joe. "Joe! Lure the Duskull onto the patch of grass behind you and set it aflame with Ember, while at the same time holding Duskull there with Leer!" Michael smirks, assuring himself in his new plan. He then begins to rummage through his bag.

Watching in horror as Chloe freezes in place, Ward screams for help as loud as he can, only to be drowned out by the wind. Knowing that he'll have to take the battle into his own hands, he runs forward and scoops the Poliwag into his arms. Being careful to keep one eye on the Snover, he frantically looks around for a place to escape the battle.
"There!" he spots the old mine that he saw earlier, and dashes with all his might toward the entrance. As soon he gets in, however, he remembers the ice-covered floor, which has him slipping and sliding in all directions, finally falling to the ground with a thump! All this time, he's had Chloe in his arms, trying to protect her. "Chloe," he whispers. "As soon as you can move, use your water sport on the ground," Ward hopes to make it the ground even more slick by adding more ice. "After that, attack the Snover as soon as you see it, and then use your bubble to fill the entire cave." Although the Pokemon doesn't know it, Ward is praying for the bubbles to create a sort of hiding place, hopefully concealing his and Chloe's location if the Snover comes looking.
