Too many to list haha but standout series to me would have to be DP and AG.

From the DP series how about the two part episode where Team Galactic goes after the orbs and Cynthia, Ash, Dawn and Brock face off against TG and we get to meet Cyrus. There is so much about these episodes that I love because you see how badass these villains are! Remember the scene at the end of the first episode where Crogunk comes crashing through the glass ceiling and Saturn's Toxicroak jumps down from the roof to land a powerful Poison Jab on its pre-evolution opponent?

Chim-Charred, the 3 part Tag Battle Tournament, the episode where they meet Cynthia.

From BW, my favorite off the top of my head has to be the episode where we meet Alder because I related to that episode in 2 ways; meeting a childhood hero only to find out they aren't who you thought they were and that having goals is important but what do you do once you've achieved those dreams?

From the AG series: any episode with Drew the guy was smooth, the final episode before Ash takes off the Sinnoh, Charizard vs. Articuno.

I'll stop there too many to name

this is my wheelhouse and there's too many great episodes at this crucial stage of ash's journey

so here's my fave episodes

Kanto

Pokémon - I Choose You! (everybody knows that because this episode where it all begins)
Showdown in Pewter City (TR's trap has ended with confusing and disastrous consequences and signs of ash is an average trainer)
Mystery at the Lighthouse (that episode leads to the my best 5 in 7 episodes and also this is the pokemon league 101)
Electric Shock Showdown (one of MY Faves for 2 reason 1st ash earned the badge the HARD way and 2nd this is the 1st time TRio had a kind heart)
Battle Aboard the St. Anne (this episode had THE LOT! Trading, Battling, TR's Grunts and ended with a cliffhanger)
Pokémon Shipwreck (the 2nd time that TRio have a kind heart)
Island of the Giant Pokémon (the 3rd time TRio had a kind heart)
The Ghost of Maiden's Peak (my last of my best 5 in 7 episodes and the 4th time TRio had a kind heart)
Holiday Hi-Jynx (christmas episode)
Snow Way Out! (after TRio's Motto reciting it went pear sharped from there)
Go West Young Meowth (the bad news is TRio shows up the good news is no battle just do the motto and tell them to leave)
Round One - Begin! (ash's 1st league battle and the ultimate sweep 1 pokemon 3 fight wins that's the platinum match)

Orange Islands

Pikachu Re-volts (The best episode of the Orange Islands and the 5th time TRio does have a kind heart)
Meowth Rules! (ash and his buddies are not the star attraction on this episode)

Johto

Ignorance is Blissey(The only fave episode in the region because TRio's plan was good except the gloves are NOT Thunder shock-proof)

Hoenn

A Poached Ego! (at least for the 6th time that TRio does have a kind heart and they are the episodes star attraction but they have to do it with a price)
A Cacturne for the Worse (the TRio did appear a few scenes but once the cart goes down the scheme does goes down with it)

Kanto BF

Sweet Baby James (at least for the 7th time that TRio does have a kind heart)
Time-Warp Heals All Wounds (may does time travel)
Pokémon Ranger - Deoxys Crisis! Part 1 and Part 2 (at least for the 8th time that TRio does have a kind heart)

Sinnoh

Mutiny in the Bounty! (at least for the 9th time that TRio does have a kind heart and a debut of a Villain that we all love to hate Hunter J)
Ill-Will Hunting! (the 2nd showing of the villain that the whole world wants to see her in prison Hunter J)
Once There Were Greenfields (at least for the 10th time that TRio does have a kind heart but it all come at a cost)
The Keystone Pops! (in a case of what goes around comes around)
Journey to the Unown! (at least for the 11th time that TRio does have a kind heart but for ash and co the trouble really starts as Team Galactic take their places at center stage for this episode)
Crossing Paths (at least for the 12th time that TRio does have a kind heart but it all come at a cost)
A Crasher Course in Power! (ash does have a golden battle all three pokemon and he wins a battle without a losing a fight and as for TRio they earned a break
Get Your Rotom Running! (TRio had a plan but they had an episode that they would rather forget failing to set up a trap)
Steeling Peace of Mind! and Saving the World from Ruins! (at least for the (lucky) 13th time that TRio does have a kind heart)
The Drifting Snorunt! (for the 14th time at least TRio does have a kind heart)
Pillars of Friendship! (Hunter J makes her 4th appearance and she mark that appearance with the most disgraceful crime that she ever committed)
Where No Togepi Has Gone Before! (for the 15th time at least that TRio does have a kind heart)
Unlocking the Red Chain of Events!, The Needs of the Three! and The Battle Finale of Legend! (the (sweet) 16th time that TRio does have a kind heart and the last appearance for a long time that we all love to hate Hunter J)
The Treasure Is All Mine! (for the 17th time at least that TRio does have a kind heart)
For The Love Of Meowth! (for the 18th time at least that TRio does have a kind heart)

AG192 - I love the fact that Shigeru made an appearance after a four-year hiatus and he's stronger even though he's no longer a trainer.
DP61 (When Hikari lost the appeals for the second time) - This was an episode where Satoshi finally felt something for a human (Hikari) rather than a pokemon.
DP186-DP188 (Satoshi vs. Shinji) Need I say anymore? If I return to view this trilogy battle in raw version, I would have a serious adrenaline issue. Such a well-written rivalry that ended with a big bang and I worship Tomioka for his beautiful imaginations and ideas.
BW086 (Hikari's reappearance) - Hikari's battle with Dento was beautiful and when he did a 'tasting time' to Hikari, her reaction was priceless.
I think I'll edit this later for more additional episodes but these were the top picks in my head

^ Same. THEE best saga, ever. I also enjoyed moments of Sinnoh and all the others, but they don't even hold a light to the Advanced Generation.
Everything about the Hoenn Sage was perfection, the way it was written, the synergy between the group, and I loved Max!
I hope they bring Max back in the new Saga, maybe a bit older this time! And as a Trainer! That's what I'm hoping for.

EP013 (pokemon league 101) 6 pokemon at 1 time or ELSE
EP014 (Ash's 1st REAL gym victory) - and the start of my 4 fave episodes form 7
EP015 (this episode had EVERYTHING) - trading, battles, TR Grunts and a cliffhanger
EP016 (escape from the sunken ship... ALIVE) - ash's mission should he chose to accept it escape from the sunken St. Anne
EP017 (talk about land of the GIANTS) - if you think pokemon's image is now LARGER than life.... we are
EP020 (summer's end) - this episode had some funny scenes but the hugging one that takes the cake
EP070 (MOVIE TIME) - this episode is Rare because this no battle from TRio
EP086 (ash and co did do a rescue mission but they are not alone) - this episode is BIG in more ways than one
EP096 (ash and co are not the stars of this episode) - talk about the cat got the cream
EP129 (TRio's nice plan poor choice on gloves) - this put a whole new meaning of the term "the one that got away"
AG006 (ash and co are not the heroes of this episode) - the TRio's orignal duo's owning pokemon's last stand
AG103 (when TRio's cart goes downhill so does the scheme) - good episode this
AG147 (one of the TRio's takes the episode's top billing)
AG157 (may does time travel) - good episode this
AG171-AG172 (ranger special) good two episodes this
DP020 (the 1st ill omen in the Sinnoh region is none other than the ever evil Hunter J) Great Episode and one of my top 10 episodes of the Sinnoh region
DP045 (Gary is back and this time helping Ash to rescue the Shieldon from Hunter J's clutches) - the two trainers in episode 001 are back
DP054 (from battling to knowing that you have to have to give it up to someone else) - great episode this and one of my top 10 episodes of the Sinnoh region
DP060 (this is where the Sinnoh region problems really start as Team Galactic took their places at center stage) - great episode this and a top 10 worthy episode of the Sinnoh region
DP073 (another one of those episodes when you have little choice but releasing your pokemon especially it's one of the TRio's) - amazing episode this and another top 10 Sinnoh region worthy episode
DP083 (ash got an golden battle not 1 fight lost during his gym battle) - great episode not a top 10 worthy episode
DP105 (a rare episode TRio no motto through the whole episode) - not bad episode
DP110-DP111 (steel pokemon gone mad at Iron Island and team Galactic is up to no good) - great two episodes this and a joint entry on the top 10 Sinnoh region episodes
DP116 (poacher alert) - good episode this
DP129 (Hunter J alert) - She's back and she has committed the most disgraceful crime in the history
DP142 (trouble making pokemon) - not bad episode
DP150-DP152 (the big one the Team Galactic arc) this is the one that I've waited for and a joint entry on the top 10 Sinnoh region episodes
DP153 (one of the TRio goes back to his youth) great episode this
DP178 (Meowth is in love) the 1st episode after the Grand Festival and IT'S AN OFF THE TOP BATTLE

i've just seen one of the latest new episodes. it's the part when ash and the gang battle to fight the champion elder that part was funny because iris's dragonite wouldnt obay her commads. from out of nowhere ather being frozed by her rival's beartic it came and bam! thunderpunch k.o lol

I like many other though; but these are really special to me. And Oh, I like some from DP and some from the beginning of BW.

For really no reason whatsoever, The Flame Pokemon-athon will forever be my favorite episode. I honestly cannot say what makes me like that episode so much. I'm not a Ponyta/Rapidash fan. There's just something about that episode that I love. It's a filler that has no bearing on anything else in the show, at all, but I just love it. I guess it was just watching that episode as a kid, and that final stretch with the evolution into Rapidash. Nothing spectacular about the episode in the slightest, but that's just kid me dictating what adult me likes. Lara Laramie forever.
