Thread: What Type of Rival you prefer for Ash ????

I wish an older rival for Ash, which points out the flaws the boy has and deconstructs his worldview in very precise details, which in turn breaks him mentally as a result. To add salt to Ash's wounds the rival beats his entire team using a pokemon he just caught. And the icing on the cake would be, that he is revealed as a good guy all the time along.

Yes, I love to see Ash suffering. It might be cruel, but how are you going to change the unchangeable 10 year old child?

They can't. Any changes will be erased after Ash leaves the region and becomes 10 again. Also any and all experience pikachu gained in that region will be removed.

So true... It is only because of Pikachu. It is the mascot of the series, which needs the focus all the time for to advertise all the products. And because they do not want to remove/replace him, Ash as his trainer has to stay as a result. Never becoming what he aimed for such a long time ago.

I was wondering today ,
What is the worst idea for a main Superior rival in the next series?
I thought was, A complete newbie as a Main Superior rival!
Wait , It already happened !!!
So Today I was wondering if there is even more Worst idea for a Main Superior Rival.
After All ,
I have to be ready for Anime Stuff's next Stupidity .

I'd like to see a very tsundere, fiesty female rival who could occasionally be rather arrogant and condesending when talking to Ash.however she cares for Ash occasionally, (Like when he has to fight the region's crime syndacate) and cares for her pokemon quite a bit, even giving her nearly fainted pokemon her last casteliacone. Her battle style would be thought out, and bassed on stats, type advantages and statuses. I figure this trainer would get confused and would taunt Ash whenever he purpously use a type disadvantage.

I totally agree. Even Gary Oak, the biggest jerk of the series was a better rival.

your right , Trip is the worst idea for a Main superior rival .
Even Kikoya from Beyblade Metal Fusion is a better rival even though he never beaten the protagonist.
I Wish we had a rival like that.
But thnaks to Trip , No other rival can't shine without beating Ash 3 time in a row.
Trip is a prof that how unmotivated & absent minded the Pokemon Anime stuff are !!!
Seriously , What kind of a idiot destroys all Protagonist development & Pride to make a complete newbie a superior rival ?

Sooner or later someone is going to have to stop the art pin and say enough with the Pokemon creations. After that, all they need to do is evolve Pikachu and then Ash wouldn't have to worry about being reset or held back bacause of what the roddent can produce.

The'd never do that; Old fans and new fans have grown too attatched to Pikachu, and the little yellow rat is the biggest cash cow of the series. The day Pikachu evolves into Raichu will be the day Ash ages and achieves his dream of becoming a pokemon master.

All I want in Ash's rival is two things:

1) He/she isn't completely full of him/herself
2) I don't constantly have the urge to punch him/her in the face.

Not one has lived up to these standards yet.

True dat. I like how Bianca isn't a Mary Sue, or a douche, but she often gets on my nerves. But in a good way!

Whether if they have old fans or not, sooner or later Pokemon will be gone and older and younger fans will cry together. And if they are going to end the show with Ash in it, might as well evolve it if he or it won't be on the show anymore. Don't you remember what some people said in the "Ash replaced thread"? If they get rid of him, Pikachu will probably go to. Might as well go with a bang. Besides, I like Raichu more than Pikachu.
