Thread: Satoshi to have a new rival

Mrehehehehe. If we can't get rid of Shootie I want the new girl rival to be a rival to both him and Satoshi.
How satisfying would it be to have a main rival that gets under the skin of a fellow rival just to up the antagonism among the three? Plus, I like watching Shootie squirm because he sucks otherwise.

Maybe reduce Shootie to a sniveling woobie that gets butthurt that Satoshi no longer considers him to be the main rival because the new girl person is a lot cooler personality-wise and battle-wise. And I wouldn't want the new girl rival to be too antagonistic either, but just confident and badass and sexy

So, the new rival's going to be a Democrat? :)

I can honestly see that making Ash cry and run away with either Cilan/Dawn/Iris/Tip running after him comforting him. YES, I said Trip because after that he might wanna team up against this guy... you never know...

I would really like this. Character Development. Feelings. :).

Rival/Rocket Boss Giovanni wants to fight!

Otherwise, I want a female version of Duke Devlin.

As in a creator of the anime version of the TCG. And who uses the most powerful deck possible, but uses beyond Conway-level live battle strategies.

They like promoting stuff through the anime in such a obvious way, why not this unexplored variety of G. I. Joeism?

Still, we need a female rival who is a talented performer who doesn't necessarily need Pokémon for her sideshow(like Duke Devlin's dice tricks), can actually battle and play cards...and who'll fight with iris and/or Bianca over Ash...and has a mechanical signature Pokémon, like a Magnezone, Golurk(I know, this would be better for a Crowler, but still) Metagross or a Klinklang(these for a Gradius counterpart)

And if she had a theme music like Abridged Duke's...I'd just go crazy...with dance mix fever!

The Rival would have to be wicked nasty to actually bring Ash to tears in my opinion. He would have to pake Paul look like a saint. Don't get me wrong though. That would be something to see. It would prove that not even Ash is invincible.

But this is fairly interesting...it's very possible that the new rival could be a Barry-like rival and sorta get involved in Trip's affairs, but a full fledged rival-triangle would be quite a feat...

I've been waiting for a three-pronged rivalry for AGES. AGES. It almost went that way with Jun/Shinji/Satoshi but that consisted of just Jun wanting to eat out Shinji and lose constantly to both of them. xD If they all fill different roles (a la Cheren/Bel/Protag in the games) I would want to see a multi-faceted rivalry (ultimately with Satoshi coming out on top, obviously).

If it's the game rival, then I expect him to reflect his game counterpart like Barry, but if it's an OC, I'd like to see him as a sociopath to the point where he has a lust for tasting the tears of his opponent's defeat (seriously, I really want something "interesting" to happen whenever a character is shedding in tears when next to an antagonist).

As long as the new rival isn't a noob like Shooty or a arrogant brat like Gary, I don't care much.
They will never manage to make a rival better than Shinji anyways

I just hope this new rival have a badass and original design. I mean, look at Shinji, Naoshi, Kenyan, Bel and Langley, they all have original and outstanding designs and so look to Shooty or that guy with a Prinplup in DP. Their designs are depressing.

Hopefully the new Rival is someone with Credibility! Paul has been traveling a lot before he encountered Ash! So he must have a well developed party! MUST!

I would be happy with Leaf,Ethan,Silver,Brendon, Lucas, Hilbert,Cheren or BW2PC or BW2Rival! But I doubt it ! Possibly the BW2rival! If they want to promote the games and anime together they must TO connect them !

They are bringing Hikari back to the anime, they should bring Shinji too.
As I said, they can't make a better rival than him... Unless they bring SILVER to the anime. xD

How about a rival that is weaker than Ash and vows to defeat him like Naga the Serpent to Lina Inverse in Slayers? He could be the one who beats Ash in the Unova League. God knows it'd beat another TROLLbias and be an actual innovation for the writers to try. Even if they execute it badly or sub parish, they can at least say that they tried.
