Thread: Satoshi to have a new rival

Either one of these would be interesting for the turnout of who this rival is:
- Someone similar to Joey (Y'know, the kid who owned the greatest Rattata of all time)
- Trisha (It'd be funny to see something like that...)
- Someone secretly working for Team Rocket
Please, do not take any of what I said personally.

I think this was a mistranslation. Ash clearly has no new rival in the Junior tournament, they already showed the participants and they all look like bland COTD's.

Perhaps Dawn is considered the new rival?

Where and I'm did you try looking at their clothing rather than their hair

The translation doesn't seem to mention the rival solely in/or appearing first in the World Tournament.

I always wanted Ash to have another female rival.
A badass female rival who he cannot stand at all because she's so much better than him. ;D

I mean, they usually would have revealed who it is by now...right? Unless they're going to come after the tournament or something, in which case, I wouldn't worry too much. After all, it's not the first time Ash has developed a rivalry with someone after he earned all eight badges (Ritchie, Morrison). I just wish that they wouldn't have hinted at it so early, if this is even the case.

Oooor, worst scenario, they just teased us with Dawn being his "rival." Laaaaaaaame.

Really? I actually love Trip as Rival. He is my favorite Rival since Gary. I just want the next Rival to look similar to Trip, with a conceited attitude that sparks Satoshi into battling like a pro instead of a noob. I want to see some legitt competitive rivalry opposed to a one-sided rivalry in which the rival crushes Satoshi.

I'm still not ruling out it could be Iris after she wins the Junior Cup, and beats the Champion therefore getting Ash to acknowledge her as a rival.

Realistically, it's probably just going to be some guy/girl that Ash randomly meets in the same vein as Harrison before the league.

Again, as I said eariler, I believe that Hugh from Black 2 and White 2 will be Ash's new rival for Best Wishes 2.

Best Case Scenario: N as Ash's rival. WE NEED AN APPEARENCE. No Team Plasma during BW = Horrid series.
2nd Best Case Scenario: Hugh as Ash's rival. He seemed interesting during the B2W2 promo video, he will be interesting in the anime.
2nd Worst Case Scenario: Dawn as Ash's Rival. No rival = what the fuck hell?
Worst Case Scenario: Iris as Ash's rival. If Iris wins, then BW is horrid.

I'd much more see Iris as Ash's rival than Dawn. At least Iris' main interest is battles, and she's proven to be quite impulsive and straightforward like Ash is, so a rivalry between the two of them wouldn't be completely wrong, if you were to ask me. (Although I find it highly unlikely, and I'd much, much rather see an actually new character :p)

If Dawn is the... ''new rival''... then I'll blow up, seriously. Then they were just teasing with us. But that can't be the case... right?

Oh, and I'll stay on the side whose hoping for a female rival. Bianca is great, but as of yet she hasn't really been established as a very threatening or powerful
opponent, and I'd love to see a new female rival that compensates for Bianca's lack of awesomeness and seriousness, y'know.

Well, she seems to have been in Unova a while and has met Elesa... you know she's got a stacked badge case she's just dying to whip out come League Time. XD

I don't know, it seems more and more that it's going to be a League-only rival, though, to me, there's two golden opportunities before the League to hype up a rival: Shaga and Shizui. I would love to see Satoshi in the bleachers watching either a new rival or one of the existing non-Satoshi rivals go up against one of those to set them up as contenders for the League. Someone winning their eighth badge against them would be could. Bel... you know she's a swimfan. XD

If a new female rival were introduced for , i would like her to one of those girls who has a major crush on him maybe even hit on him and ask him to be his boyfreind or something.

Scenario:When Ash tells her his main interest is working toward being a Pokemon Master and refuses her offer, she could strive to dominate him in battles and make him see why he should be with her. If not that that at least she would try to impress her crush, amirite here?

I like Trip as a rival. I really don't see why lots of people can't stand him. Ash's new rival should be kind of... I have no clue. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
