lucario? ... hmmm, i'm quite sceptical...
One thing almost sure is that grotle won't evolve into torterra (paul has one, and jun has empoleon)
so I really HOPE that chimchar will evolve til monferno!! (I didn't like torcoal in BF)
But maybe one of ash's pokemon will evolve during the league itself! like Krab --> Klinger in Kanto. Maybe this will be staravia into staraptor.
Or maybe ash will do the johto league thing again: use pokemon during the whole season and finally get back the old ones for the league... but it's unlikely.
By the way, i don't really like gliscor, for a 6th poke, i was disapointed

Lucario is pretty much doubtful! Jun is already in Iron Island. So it's likely that he'll meet up with Riley first and get the egg from him.

I don't know about Ash having a Lucario.
Even though the eighth movie was my favorite so far. Giving Ash a Lucario doesn't seem right?
Think about it. Ash has always been known as the underdog and giving him powerhouse Pokémon like Alakazam or Salamence would be wrong. Those are Pokémon that he and his team have to beat to prove they are good, too.
Giving Lucario to Ash would ruin Ash and his Pokémon's reputation for being the underdog.
I don't think Ash is going to replace Gliscor. That'd completely shaft Gary's gift to him and make just about the only impactful thing he's done in DP so far utterly useless.
Well, i'm almost 100% sure that gliscor will have it's glory time in the sinnoh league (or before, during one gym battle), or it could be the opposite: gliscor being completely a**-kicked in first round of the sinnoh league and doesn't want to fight anymore. Ash still wins the match...
Or maybe, ash's gliscor will overwhelm paul's gliscor in the sinnoh league final or semi final...
we can't know right now
and, about lucario, i'm pretty sure that cynthia has got one (at least, in the game), so it would be a little bit too many of them ... (and don't forget riolu)

Well Jun is now Ash's rival, and his in-game team only has 5 Pokemon on it, I believe. His anime team (that we know of so far) is based on his game team, and so if he and Ash were to have a six-on-six battle during the League (which I believe is pretty likely), there's one slot left for a Riolu/Lucario.
And I don't buy that argument that seeing two Lucario would be too many (three if you count Maylene). Jun has a Roserade, as does Gardenia, and if Nando ever reappears it's likely that he'll have one too. Jun also has a Staraptor, as does Reggie, and it's very likely that Ash's Staravia will evolve too. Not to mention that Ash and Paul both have Gliscor, or that Cynthia has a Gastrodon and Zoey is likely to have one in the near future as well.
I don't think Jun and Cynthia both having a Lucario would too many at all.
as you said, there's also mayleen. Well, for most people, seeing 3 lucarios is okay, but it bothers me somehow... maybe because i've always been thinking that lucario was a really special pokemon, almost legendary.
But, on second thought, i'd really like ash having a lucario, even if it's doubtful. But i'm still okay for Jun, it'll make a tough battle for ash.
And anyway, will we ever see cynthia's lucario?
About roserade, you're right. Besides, it bothered me too, seeing too many of them. Well, maybe i'm just a hard viewer

I'm tired of people saying someone owning an evolved form of one of Ash's/Dawn's/Brock's Pokemon forbids the three of them to get it themselves (or even for the Pokemon to evolve at all). IT. IS. NOT. TRUE. If it was, Ash's Gliscor would never have evolved. Grotle would never have evolved. People said Paul's Torterra would prevent Turtwig from even getting to the Grotle stage, and we all know how that turned out.
I did notice that there's a lot of space around Piplup in the 1st panshot of the opening...they could be giving him space for an evolution, though I personally think they're holding off to the end of DP to evolve Piplup.
There's a decent amount of space around Chimchar too, but we all know he's going to evolve soon anyway.

You may lose your faith in us, but never in yourselves. From here, the fight will be your own.
Agree! Seriously, I can't think of anyone who'll has a Grotle except Ash and I'm hoping it to evolve into Torterra eventually. And man, there's hundreds of people owning a croagunk in the croagunk festival ep, and it doesn't stop Brock from owning a Croagunk.
And if their theory is correct, Paul shouldn't have owned an Elekid at all! Casey has one, and Gary has Electivire.
Perhaps the writers may have forgotten somehow about Casey. But then again three Elekids/evos thereof is still not too many. Three Lucarios (Maylene's, Cynthia's (although it wasn't even seen yet) and the Riolu from the Iron Island eps evolves into one) are fine. Speaking of Casey, we may not even know the status of her Elekid by now; it may be an Electabuzz by now (or even an Electivire for that matter).
Pikachu is my favorite Pokémon.
Go Pikachu!

Boss Fantasy or Boss Porn, that is the question.
Lot of people think that piplup is the 2nd pikachu, i mean some kind of mascot (you know, the kind of mascot kids want to buy as a doll...) that's the reason why it's unlikely to evolve, not because jun has an empoleon... I didn't say it was forbidden that 2 characters have the same pokemon, i just said that too many LUCARIOS bothered me (for my own reasons).
Overmore, someone else was talking about people that are not supposed to fight each other --> gary's electivire / paul electabuzz ; jun's empoleon / kenny's prinplup ... etc etc so in that case, it's not disturbing that they have the same pokemons.
Once again, i didn't say it was forbidden, i just don't like too many battles between the same pokemons: gliscor / gliscor ... etc
