Yes, although I hate the way they waited so long to evolve the starters in DP and BW. Waiting for more than half of the saga to be over is ridiculous.

Treecko's evo in AG was done perfectly, he evolved right after the 4th Gym. I don't understand why they didn't do the same in DP and BW...

Agree. 8th Gym done and over with and we STILL got Miju and Tsutarja. What a joke.

Well to be fair this time the 8th Gym was done by 85 episodes, wheres in DP it was like 180 episodes. :p

It's highly unlikely, though. I predict his roster being almost the same; maybe an evolution for Snivy or another for Pignite. I don't want Oshawott, to evolve, he's cute the way he is ; - ; I don't think any will be released or left for training, as the rotation takes care of reserves effectively. The main reason Ash released/left his Pokemon is the writers wanted him to catch another.

Why would he catch either?

It'd be pointless. He has about a dozen Unova Pokemon, and some of them barely ever get shown. Why would they bring back an overused Kanto Pokemon for Ash to catch? If Ash catches a Magnemite or an Onix... that'd just be terrible. :<

Their is so much they can do with a Magnamite compared to another Onix (Not that they will as it will probaly get the same treatment as Palpitoad and the other reserves) This will give Ash hisfirst Steel type and they may finally give him his second Electric type, another electric type on the scene would reason for Pikachu focus as well.

He has got to catch one old pokemon, Onix? Wouldn't mind but I don't think so. Riolu? I'm gonna agree that if it were to happen, it would have during DP. Eevee? Dosen't have to evolve into Glaceon, so many possibilaties. Absol? I'm actually hoping for this, Gen 3 pokemon for those Gen 3 remakes I am praying for. Magnamite? Somthing I would welcome with open arms

Exactly right! Besides they don't like wasting episodes on the reserves; they made them evolve, lern new moves and star in their gym battles all in one episode. They are not about to write a deep and emotional episode for them, how could they? They're all to undr developped

Why does he have to catch an old Pokemon? As you pointed out, so many of his reserves are underdeveloped. An old Pokemon would just drag them down and lessen their development and screentime.
