Pokémon Evolution/Capture/Release Thread

I think they're doing ir right this time, Ash doesn't technically have Pidgeot or CHarizard any more and with Staraptor and Infernape they'd have the equivalent to the Kanto roster but do it right by not releasing them.

To be honest I just want to see Ash have that battle with Paul in the league, Grotle won't evolve and neither will Buizel but hey I'm not the writer of the show!

I still say that Dawn gets the Riolu egg

he means its under Liza's care, so not like he can just call up and Oak something for it. He'd have to oak something first and then get Charizard. Big difference.

Because that's what they always did back then, promise evolutions and fail to deliver them. They did the same with Totodile when he met that Feraligatr in the sumo tournament.

Turthfully if the writers never had Ash use any of his Johto Pokemon again, (aside from Heracross and Donphan) I really wouldn't care. Ash has plenty of good grass, fire, and water Pokemon that there's really no reason to use the others.

...*sigh* I used this as reasons that why I think his Sinnoh team will be fully evolvedn or very close to fully evolved. Ash might have the same thought again if he would see Paul's fully evolved team. So he might push his team very hard to evolve them. I think he would keep his thought since his opponent is Paul!

OR... Ash sees Paul's fully evolved team and is going to proove to Paul that pokémon don't have to be fully evolved to be powerfull, as long as you trust them, and will let all his pokémon be unevolved and beat Paul with them. x.x If I know the writers a little I think that's gonna happen. Although I sure hope I'm wrong...

^ Well the whole Ash vs. Paul thing has to do with training methods, not really evolved vs. non-evolved so evolution for Ash's pokemon is possible. Ash could show Paul that being friends with your pokemon can make them be just as strong. For example, I think Ash's friendship with Chimmy can help it evolve in the Iron Island episodes and prove Paul wrong that he is a good trainer. Not to mention I also see that as a way to make Jun realize that Paul's methods of training is not necessarily the best way.

End of Sinnoh:

Ash: Pikachu, Grotle, Infernape, Buizel, Staraptor, Gliscor

No more captures and the Torkoal thing was just a lie IMO. Pikachu will, of course, stay. Grotle probably won't evolve again due to it getting screentime with Paul. Chimchar should evolve twice for a Torterra vs Infernape vs Empoleon showdown at the league. Buizel won't have time to evolve if Chimchar, Staravia and Monferno are all going to evolve. Starly probably evolved so quickly for a reason. Gliscor should stick around until Sinnoh ends.

Dawn: Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu, Ambipom, Mamoswine, Riolu

Piplup..well, we didn't think Mudkip would ever evolve either back in Hoeen, maybe Piplup will evolve in a filler arc since Dawn wouldn't be around much longer anyway, but not in Sinnoh. Buneary's crush on Pika may prevent it from evolving, Dawn already has an evolved normal type anyway. Pachirisu is Pachirisu. Ambipom and Mamoswine are done. And Riolu, im sorry, Dawn's team is full of cuties other than Mamoswine, she should get atleast one, tall, quick powerhouse type pokemon like May's Blaziken. Im talking about after Riolu evolves into Lucario of course

Brock: Croagunk, Happiny, Sudowoodo, Tangrowth

Croagunk has a rivalry with Saturns Toxicroak, might cause it not to evolve and it also seems to be a "mascot" like Piplup. Happiny is a Sinnoh pokemon and shouldn't evolve just yet. Sudowoodo will probably leave after Sinnoh, before Brock goes to the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. Tangrowth just seems like a good pokemon for Brock since everyone has an evolution of an older pokemon except him.

Jessie: Yanmega, Wobuffett, Seviper, Chatot, Meowth(sorta?)

The others are done. Chatot could work for all of Team Rocket's purposes: Comic relief, motto, contests. Comic relief: It could make fun of Team Rocket and another talking pokemon on TR would really piss off Meowth. Motto: Being a talking pokemon it could have a line in the Motto. Contests: It seems like it would be good in contests.

James: Carnivine, Mime Jr, Stunky, Meowth(Sorta?)
The rest of his team is finished. Stunky could be this generations Chimecho. It would spray TR with its nasty smelling fluid, Jessie and Meowth would hate it but James would think its "pleasant."

Paul: Torterra, Electivire, Magmortar, Ursaring, Gliscor, Honchkrow, Weavile, Reserves

Electabuzz and Magmar are only on his team to showcase Electivire and Magmortar. The rest of his team is done.

Jun: Empoleon, Roserade, Staraptor, Snorlax, Gallade, Rhyperior

Yeah, im being hopeful. Roserade and Staraptor hint that they may be sticking to his DP team if the player started with Chimchar(Empoleon, Staraptor, Roserade, Heracross, Rapidash, Snorlax) but hopefully thats not the case. Rhyperior and Gallade can replace Rapidash and Heracross.

Zoey: Glameow, Gastrodon, Mismagius, Lumineon, Leafeon

I couldn't decide whether or not Glameow and Shellos would evolve. Finneon should since Lumineon seems more "contesty." Misdreavus will since it evolves into a 4th gen. pokemon. Leafeon just because

Kenny: Prinplup, Alakazam, Breloom, Dusknoir, Vespiquen

Jun has Empoleon so Kenny can give Prinplup some much needed screentime since Dawn's Piplup probably won't evolve. Dusknoir and Vespiquen seem like "tough" contest pokemon like Drew's Absol and Flygon.


Nando: Roserade, Sunflora, Kricketune, Froslass, Ninetales, Chimecho, Togekiss

Kay, since Nando is going to be in the league we can assume he will have a total of atlast 6 pokemon. Since Jun has a Roserade, his Roserade should be considered a "contest only" pokemon and not be used in the league, he has Sunflora anyway, two grass types would make his team unbalanced. The other pokemon I picked for him are either musical or majestic looking. A good gym/contest mixture

Mars: Bronzor, Purugly, Golbat, Tangrowth.
Saturn: Bronzor, Golbat, Toxicroak, Rhyperior
Jupiter: Bronzor, Golbat, Skuntank, Magnezone
Cyrus: Crobat, Houndoom, Weavile, Honchkrow, Drapion, Probopass

Simple, their Platinum teams + their pokemon from their manga counterparts

Isn't Mime.Jr already this region's Chimeco for James. I mean, Jessie and Meowth may not hate it, but James still cuddles with it and loves it like a baby Pokemon. Maybe Stunky would be there as a sort of subtle nostalgia to the days when James had a Poison Pokemon, lol.

2 talking Pokemon would be a bit too much though. Unless it just spits out random phrases that people say, then fine. Chatot seems too bright for Jessie though.

Well, all of the other times that JJM had to release any of their pokemon were depressing as well, so Mime Jr. leaving would have James back in his sadness mode, like what happened after he gave Cacnea to Gardenia.

I know, but he loves Manene even more than Sabonea. He'd probably start cutting himself or something if it left.

I don't think TR will make another capture this region, not unless some 5th gen Pokemon are revealed anyway.

I also imagine Dawn and Brock are done with captures this region. Dawn still has to work with Mamoswine and Pachi/Buneary still need more screentime. Brock also doesn't need more than 3 Pokemon at a time.

I also don't see Ash Oaking any of his Pokemon this arc, I'd honestly be surprised if he did, since each of his current Pokemon have a rivalry with one of Paul's, and it would mess up the dynamic if he left one behind.

So now Monferno and Staraptor are confirmed now, so those are out of the way.

My guess is we won't get Infernape until after Sinnoh ends, just like we didn't get Sceptile until after Hoenn.

Buizel is the only one we don't know. It could honestly go either way, most of Ash's water Pokemon never did evolve such as Squirtle and Corphish. So we don't know.

Hopefully Buizel can be a second evo for Ash after the Sinnoh League like how Ash got Sceptile and Donphan, he could get Infernape and Floatzel after the league.

Who knows with Buizel though...at least we know we're getting Monferno and Staraptor.
