If the movie wouldn't feature a gen 6 Poké they wouldn't reveal Genesect so soon
This implies that, at the usual time they typically reveal these kind of Poké (which would now be in early 2013) they plan to reveal something that would be more important than Genesect, so they're getting it out of the way earlier than it should be, to then focus on the gen 6 Poké that will star together with it (if not even shine above it as THE star of the movie) and will be our preview to the new gen that will come out two months after the movie, similarly to how Zoroark was used

Yeah, I'm guessing a Gen VI Pokemon will be the real star of this movie. When do they usually reveal the title of these movies? I can't remember.

The preliminary title is revealed in December, only to be updated in February following the reveal of the primary star.

Yeah, that's how it is usually, which pretty much confirms a gen 6 Poké, otherwise they'd have no reason to reveal Genesect so soon
The way they threw Meloetta in short and episodes-plot and are now rushing to reveal Genesect earlier than they show, only goes to show they're trying to speed things up to be done with gen 5 in time for gen 6
Also, if to consider how that may affect the show, assuming July/August/September is East Unova and October/November/December is Unova League, and assuming gen 6 does come out September 2013, that means they'd have 3/4 of 2013 (January-September) to make up something for Ash to do between the league to next gen, which would give them about 39 eps
I really wonder now what they'll do, cause that would make that saga about as short as Orange Islands was, so it won't get to be even as long as the BF was...

It is also entirely possible that Genesect will be given a role in the show to justify giving it lesser screentime in the movie (see Meloetta).

Wow this is false. The last movie of each gen stars the next main Pokemon. Genosect has never been revealed before unlike Kyorge and old Johto legends.

So what? Meloetta was a "newly-revealed" one too, yet see what treatment it got
They're rushing things for next gen... Genesect will not be the only star of that movie and a gen 6 Poké will obviously join it

How are they rushing it? Genosect won't star till July. It doesn't matter what we see in previews.

As Silktree said, they ALWAYS reveal a title in December, then early in the year they reveal a brand new Poké that wasn't officially revealed yet (and with Genesect already revealed now, that finish all "secret" Poké the current gen has, meaning next one to reveal is a gen 6 one), they add that Pokémon to the title and it turns out to be the main star of the movie

And in that case, it is very obvious gen 6 will come out in September 2013 two months after the movie

Why are you so convinced gen 6 is NOT coming September 2013 ? Why are you so sure a gen 6 Poké will not be revealed in early 2013 and added to the title despite the FACT it's how they always do it and Genesect won't be a choice anymore since it'd be old news? What is your explanation to Genesect being revealed sooner than it should be?

It turned into a ship. I doubt something that important to its anatomy would be omitted.

The exact scene they saw might be, but not that.

I very highly doubt that Genesect will be the only star of this movie, especially since its going to be officially revealed very soon. Genesect on its own cannot extend the 5th Generation for one whole year and a half. By around February, we should expect to see the first Generation 6 news and Pokemon.

To me, there is also a strong possibility that Genesect's ancient form before Team Plasma changed it could also star this movie. If thats the case, then just like with Mew/Mewtwo it would be treated as a completely separate Generation 6 Pokemon, and obtainable in said games.

Can someone explain to me how this is soon? Of course he is going to be in the next movie, what the hell is soon about it?

You really don't get it? Ever since 2003, the movie stars have always been revealed in February. Victini being revealed in July 2010 ended up meaning that it would be distributed almost a year before Movie 14, with Zekrom and Reshiram turning out to be the real movie stars. Victini's role was secondary.

You've been in this fandom since at least 2005. How have you still not gotten the pattern that the first Pokémon revealed to be in the movie is never the primary star? Genesect being revealed now means it doesn't play the role of the big mystery character, and if it did, it means its release is early. Going by the trend that Genesect isn't the main movie star, there is no Pokemon left in the game that can possibly fit this role, which means, unlike what you've been saying earlier in the thread, that this movie is marking the end of Gen V.

There's absolutely no reason for an event legendary hidden in the games to be revealed so soon, unless its revelation isn't "too soon" but right on time because something else is going to take the primary starring role. However, people are saying it's "too soon" under your assumption that Genesect is the primary star, and that they are not ready to start promoting Gen VI. So what is it, is it "too soon" and they aren't ready to promote Gen VI, or is it "right on time" because they're moving Gen V out of the way so they can start promoting the next generation?

Genosect is the biggest Pokemon of the generation. It's not going to share the role with a more important Pokemon from the next gen:

Mewtwo and Mew
Deoxys and Rayquaza
Arceus and the other dragons


Now the last movie of each gen stars next gen Pokemon:

Latios and Latias
Manaphy
Zoroark

And before anyone says anything, Kyorge and the Johto legends were all old shit that had already been featured prior.
