It wouldn't be believable. Team Plasma modified Genesect for the purpose of making it stronger. I could see the original version defeating the Red Genesect, but all five of them? We've seen never anything like that, and for good reason.

Au contraire, I think Primisect would stand out more when compared to the group of Genesects; it would be the black/white sheep.
Considering the immense parallels between this movie and the first and how there's one last tube in the lab, it really would not be a surprise in the slightest if Primisect is revealed. If it's a "cute" legendary just like Mew, then that's another point in its favor considering Manaphy and Victini were revealed in the run up to DP and BW respectively.
It could take them one at a time, like Cilan's Dwebble did with the other Dwebble in episode 12. Taking them all on at the same time could be believable (this is Pokemon after all, sometimes battle logic takes a back seat if the action is cool enough), though I don't see it happening because it would just make the Genesect look too weak.
Oh, a Babysect would be amazing.
Hell Genesect is cute enough, and for all we know it could be smaller then the modified shell is. Anyway, if there is a 6th we haven't seen, which seems likely, then yeah its gonna be a Primesect that got loose. Wonder how they're gonna deal with another Pokemon as well, unless of course Primesect would be treated as a new Pokemon, and thus be the other star.
I guess this confirms the Genesect robo-army theory that someone put up a little while ago. Ghetsis wants to control the world with an army of modified Genesect. Pretty cool that this is the very first (or second if we count Mewtwo's anime appearances) movie that incorporates an anime arc.
I think it is very possible ancient Genesect is much more powerful than the modified version. Afterall, Team Plasma tried and failed to create the most powerful Pokemon, the operation could easily have been a bust unlike with Mewtwo where it was a success.
The only other option is an even more modified Genesect than the others, but that would be a waste IMO and we already have 5 modified Genesect as it is. They might as well drive home the notion that a pure natural Pokemon is superior to man's unnatural attempts. Even in the first movie, Mew who should be weaker than Mewtwo fought completely equally with it.
I think they should further parallel with the Mew/Mewtwo thing, and just make Primisect more powerful (680 BST) than the modified versions. It fits with it's title of being the most powerful hunter in ancient times.

Charizard is still around? Wow. Didn't expect that.
Scientist Dudley didn't seem to lament Genesect's power.
That's the Red Genesect. There doesn't have to be another one.The only other option is an even more modified Genesect than the others,
Which would make Team Plasma look like complete fools. Just because they failed to create the world's strongest Pokémon doesn't mean that they ended up making one of the world's strongest Pokémon weaker than it was originally.
He also thought it's the strongest Pokemon ever.
Wasn't Mewtwo's armor making it weaker and supposedly more controllable? That could easily be the case here.Which would make Team Plasma look like complete fools. Just because they failed to create the world's strongest Pokémon doesn't mean that they ended up making one of the world's strongest Pokémon weaker than it was originally.
Which he wouldn't have thought had the original version been stronger. He might have been ignorant of other Pokémon, but he'd resurrected Genesect before he modified it.
That's entirely different. Game Freak didn't design Mewtwo to have an armor, and neither did Dr. Fuji in the movie. That was just an artifact used by Giovanni, which Mewtwo decided to remove.Wasn't Mewtwo's armor making it weaker and supposedly more controllable? That could easily be the case here.
If Genesect felt inhibited by its modifications, it could just remove them and revert to its natural state. I don't see where this theory about a separate species is coming from; it would be nothing more than a form difference unless Game Freak went out of their way to mimic the Mew-Mewtwo situation.
That depends on what the movie's theme is. If its an "artificial science is bad, natural is good" theme, then they could definitely get away with that and the intent would be making Team Plasma look like overly ambitious fools. Like said before, there was no power difference at all between Mew & Mewtwo in the 1st movie, so even if ancient Genesect has a 680 or higher than 600 BST it doesn't really matter as its up to the portrayal.
Even if ancient Genesect was weaker or only had a 600 BST (just even out) they don't even have to portray that as such either. Scientist Dudley could have just been plain wrong in his assertion that modified Genesect is more powerful or better than the original.

He was part of a group seeking two Legendary Pokemon said to be capable of destroying Unova. He was not ignorant of stronger Pokemon, just delusional enough to think Team Plasma's creation was greater than them.
Genesect was specifically designed for a movie and to be like Mewtwo. Why couldn't its cyborg state have been designed by Game Freak with the old armor in mind?
It seems fairly obvious that the modifications are far too extensive to simply be shed, and have made Genesect into an entirely new species which is why its name is a pun on genetics. If Genesect felt inhibited by its modifications, it could just remove them and revert to its natural state. Mew was shown to be evenly matched with Mewtwo, rather than defeating five versions.
Mewtwo has nothing to do with Team Rocket in the games. As far as the games are concerned, Genesect and Mewtwo are fairly different.Originally Posted by Zistal

Then explain why the Pokédex entries and movie snippets refer to Genesect as the Paleozoic Pokémon that existed 300 million years ago if it supposed to be an entirely new species. It seems fairly obvious that the modifications are far too extensive to simply be shed, and have made Genesect into an entirely new species which is why its name is a pun on genetics.
Come on now. You expected to see a Genesect Forme in B2W2 for a reason. It's fine that you've changed your mind, but you're pretending as if it were the obvious answer, which it isn't.
And that doesn't change the fact that Genesect and its relation to Team Plasma in the games is probably based on Mewtwo/TR in the anime.
Unimportant it may have been, but almost everyone knows about it and remembers it. It was cool, and it made Gary "Always one step ahead of you" Oak look like a weakling.Because the old armor was shown for a grand total of one minute of the entire movie. Because they can't spoil the existence of Primisect yet, obviously. And Genesect, even if it's been transformed into a new species, as an individual is still a being that existed 300 million years ago and was revived. There's also the possibility that Game Freak simply wasn't sure whether to make the original an alternate form or new Pokemon until the movie went into production; keep in mind this generation's path has deviated from what was first planned and many concepts have gone unused. Then explain why the Pokédex entries and movie snippets refer to Genesect as the Paleozoic Pokémon that existed 300 million years ago if it supposed to be an entirely new species.
Yes, I did expect to see an Ancient Forme in BW2. That was; however, just one possibility. The idea of it being a separate Pokemon, or not being shown at all, is something I've considered since the moment it became apparent there would never be enough time in Gen V for every Mythical Pokemon to get its own movie all to itself.Come on now.
