To be fair haven't Japanese titles spoiled evolutions before too? Like the Grotle one in Japanese, and a couple of others I can't remember at the moment.

    Some I find corny are:

"Oh, do you know the Poffin Plan?"
    "Turning Over a Nuzleaf"
    "Take This House and Shuppet"
    "An Angry Combeenation"
and this is just thinking off of the top of my head.

One I like though is "O The Rampardos We Watch". Don't know why, but I like this one.

That An Angry Combeenation must have been one of the best. Ash runs into some tree in this episode, not sure if it was that particular one, but when they all went into the cave together and made a lot of noise, they seemed to upset the Combee in there who can only evolve into Vespiquen if they're female and they got chased. We might've had some laughs but I'm not sure about those other episodes, like "OH do you know the Poffin Plan, but that Turning over a Nuzleaf was one of the Hoenn episodes. "O The Rampardos We Watch" seemed like another fantastic title. Ash was battling the Gym Leader Roark (Correct me on the names if I am wrong, I can't remember from the top of my head) who specializes in Rock Types like Brock and he lost the first time, but won the second time. Not sure whether he was battling him the first time in there or not, but after I go get my info about that episode, I'll come back to correct myself in this post if I am wrong about something. I'm self-critical.

Edit: I checked through the Episode Guide on my most favorite website and Ash was in fact battling the Gym Leader a second time as it says it was a rematch. I'll get the gym leader's name down in a few minutes. Having problems opening up Episode Pictures for it right now.

Edit: Ok! I was very close to the spelling of both the Pokemon's name and the gym leader

Don't like most of the dub titles. Seriously, who comes up with them? They sound so retarded. You hardly get a serious generic episode title, like in other anime. At least the original ones give you an idea of what the episode's about (if not spoiling it).

It used to be that they used pokemon in the title of the episode, this ended a long time ago, I am talking about:

    "Attack of the Giant Pokemon"
    "Flame Pok-athalon" (Something like that)
    "Odd Pokémon Out"

and so on, I don't recall the last time the word "Pokemon" was on the title of a pokemon episode.

    Some titles I don't like:

    DP63: Hot Springing a Leak!
DP78: Pruning a Passel of Pals! (Too corny for me to like)
    AG145: Pasta La Vista
AG150: May's Egg-Cellent Adventure (Too corny for me to like)
AG186: "Overjoyed!" - that took long to name [/sarcasm]

    Thanks Felly for banner

^That was close to me. Interesting

Wow, I didn't think Egg, Hatch would be such a big hit. Guess there are some things worse than puns. Here's a few dub titles that make me roll my eyes:

    Gettin' Twiggy With It!

Would the target audience get this reference?

It's Still Rocket Roll to Me

There are so many titles like this one, and they're all just so awful.

If The Scarf Fits, Wear It!

I still don't get how an innertube is a scarf.

    Team Shocker!

I still say it's a spoiler title. They also deceived viewers into thinking that Team Rocket would have a large role.

But the ones that bother me the most are when serious episodes get goofy titles.

    Chim-Charred!

It seems in bad taste to make a pun out of Chimchar freaking out like that.

I also hate how every title in both versions almost always has an exclamation point. Every episode isn't some big important/shocking event.

I'll go with my standard complaint that "Weekend Warrior" wasn't called "Rock Star: In Contest"

The only one that came straight to my mind is 'Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it Snorunt'.
I mean, seriously. Has anyone else heard the way they introduce the title in the episode? D8

Even at the age of 23, I still like the corny pun titles of the dub for the most part. Still some stinkers now and then... notably, "Nice Pryce Baby!" because just as a general rule of thumb, no one with a shred of respect touches Vanilla Ice. But this is Pokemon... so... I guess that makes sense.

Sometimes they're just flat-out lazy, too ("Pika and Goliath!"), but I really like some of the recent ones that reference songs of my time. I totally marked out for "Smells Like Team Spirit!" (helps that it was a great episode, too), same for great bands ("Tears For Fears!"), but wait this is about lame ones. Okay.

Oh god. "A Ghost of a Chance". For very obvious reasons.

I gotta say, though. The Japanese do have some pretty screwy (and conspicuous) ways of naming their episodes. On average, I guess it seems slightly better than some others where the episode names are two sentences completely unrelated to each other, but still, having the entire plot of the episode spilled out for you in the title itself seems kind of... ah, I dunno... illogical? "Egg, Hatch" really takes the cake, though. That one goes beyond a level of sucking from the others that is just... totally incomprehensible. They rushed through the BF saga so much that they couldn't even give their episodes good names, huh? Hahaha...

Seconded. Sounded less lame when it was a rap song

    Another lame one:
A Real Cleffa-Hanger- at least Italy came up with a better title (Fascino e mistero sul Monte Luna)

I only just now "got" the pun in that one...

    Poketch = a wristwatch...Not On My WATCH....

As a lifelong punster, I am highly embarrassed. I hang my head in shame.

    Okay, I'm over it.

On another note, I thought "Pasta la Vista" was inspired.

The "Egg, Hatch" was indeed quite laughable, and I prefer the English titles all the way, because it seems that the Japanese episode titles aren't too original or inspired (about 90% are "Something vs. something" and sometimes they just spoil too much), apart some nice exceptions.

But as for the english titles, I don't like it how some of the episode titles resemble some older ones too much. And I really didn't get some of the english titles of some Johto episodes. But overall, the pop culture references and twists on popular sayings are so corny that they always make me smile, and I guess that was purely intentional.

But I can't say I care about the episode titles that much. I usually refer to them like they are episodes of "Friends" or something, like "The one where Ash gets Chimchar" or something, because I can't remember most of them anyway.

Come to think of it, there seriously needs to be a "Favorite Episode Titles" topic because some of the english ones are so funny.
