I still hope Ash to win this league, he has been on more adventure than all other trainers and HE has been the one who fought with so many villainous groups.
Unless you are going to tell me Team Plasma disappeared because Virgil crushed the team single-handedly.
N appearing doesn't mean he appear as the King of Team Plasma, he could be an individual who sought to release Pokemon fom human.

Ash is probably going to win now.
N will likely invite him to a trainer castle after he wins.

Really? REALLY? Its announced N is appearing and you somehow turn that into a sign that Ash is winning the League?????? All we know is that N is appearing and team rocket are involved somehow. No mention of a trainer castle or anything like that. Also, why would he invite Ash to a trainer castle? N's character is about him trying to get people to release their pokemon.
If Ash were to win the league, wouldn't he enter the champions league? I seem to recall you mentioning this numerous times. And since we now know that the plot after the league involves N and the rockets, it would seem that a champion league is not on the way, which suggests Ash does not win.
Ash will most likely lose to Virgil in either the top 8 or top 4 match, depending on whether the preliminary is counted as the 1st round or not. It is highly unlikely that they will skip a full 6 v 6 match, definitely not 2 of them. And if they did, who would Ash face? Random Cotd's?
Since the N plot begins sometime in January, and BW107 airs on the 20th of December, we can assume that the league will go until around BW110/111. BW108 to conclude the Kotetsu battle, and then another couple to conclude the league, most likely with a 6 v 6 against Virgil. Not really enough time for 2 Full battles, definitely not enough for 3.
There's also footage of Eevee battling a Druddigon, and it looks pretty strong
We now know that the preliminaries count as the first round. The recent episode referred to Bianca and Kotetsu's battle as part of the second round, meaning that Ash and Kotesu's battle (in the fourth round) will only earn Ash a Top 8 position.
Ash would be lucky to make it to the Top 4.

Well there you go, for Ash to win from there, he has to beat 2 random Cotd's plus Virgil in full battles in order to win. No way are they cramming that into 2/3 eps, or making 2 cotd's more important than Kotetsu.
I get that people want Ash to win the League, but all signs point to it not happening
Of course, some people will just argue that two COTD battles may be skipped so that Ash can face Virgil in the finals. So I'll ask in advance: Why would the writers make Trip, Stephan and Kotetsu battle Ash in the earlier rounds if they wanted Ash to go all the way to the finals? In the previous leagues, only one or two of the early rounds were skipped.

A lot of people are also saying that there is nothing to suggest that Virgil is any kind of threat, and Ash should have no problem with him. But of course, Virgil made it to the Top 8 at least, progressing further than 120 other trainers, 4 of which he knocked out personally, all while using his eevee team. Clearly he has skills
Exactly. Since all of the established rivals have either already battled or their match with Ash has already been set, then it really wouldn't make sense for Ash to get to the finals since they would want an established character facing him rather than a one-shot character. Plus, it really wouldn't make sense for them to skip full battle matches to have Ash get to the finals. They've only skipped the early rounds before, which made sense given how those were usually preliminary rounds against one-shot characters and there's no reason to think that they'll skip full battles this time around.
If anything, N's appearance in the anime makes it even more obvious that he'll lose to Virgil. I don't think that they would announce the next arc for January if Ash had won the Unova League. If this new arc didn't come up until January and was going to start in February instead, then that would be a better argument for Ash winning the league. As it is, it looks like Ash will lose to Virgil, which isn't much of a shock given how he does fit the typical role of the League rival Ash becomes friends with and eventually defeats him.
Indeed he does. But I still hope his Eevee won't be glorified too much, since I'd much rather see it evolve. Sadly, that seems unlikely considering Eevee's placement in the January calendar alongside Lucario (and Umbreon, which I suppose will be another star of Virgil's). I guess that Kotetsu's battle will be finished halfway into the January 3rd episode, leaving 1.5 episodes for Virgil's battle.

There is only one trainer that could beat Satoshi and win this tournament:
- Satoshi/Ash Ketchum: 765 episodes
- Team Rocket: 706 episodes
- Takeshi/Brock: 630 episodes
- Kasumi/Misty: 280 episodes
- Hikari/Dawn: 201 episodes
- Haruka/May: 197 episodes
- Masato/Max: 192 episodes
- Iris: 108 episodes
- Dent/Cilan: 104 episodes
- Kenji/Tracey: 43 episodes
Ash Vs. Virgil is for the Top 4, but if a skipped match is there it will be the finals.
There would have to be two skipped matches for that. We know that there are seven rounds in total (with the preliminaries being the first round) and that Ash vs. Kotetsu will be the fourth round, meaning that Ash will only reach the Top 8 for winning that battle.
No, what's confirmed is that Ash vs. Kotetsu will be part of fourth round. We didn't know what that meant due to the ambiguity of whether or not the preliminaries counted as the first round, but the recent episode removed any doubt: The preliminaries are the first round, and the second round is already over.
Let me break it down for you since you seem to be having problems understanding this:
First Round: Ash vs. Trip (Top 128)
Second Round: Ash vs. COTD, Bianca vs. Kotetsu (Top 64)
Third Round: Ash vs. Stephan (Top 32)
Fourth Round: Ash vs. Kotetsu (Top 16)
