True, though it is likely that they both possess moves that Lucario would be weak against (Krookodile's ground-type and Scraggy's fighting-type). Of course, this is dependent on Ash being smarter than Kotetsu, which is as likely as Emboar becoming a flying type.

I think I'd like Kotetsu to knock Ash out of the Unova League, as long as Ash knocks Trip out really early on. Kotetsu has some strong Pokémon (and he has a Ferrothorn, which makes him automatically a favourite character in my biased eyes.) and I always knew they'd introduce a character with a walking Riolu. Maybe have it come down to Pikachu and Riolu as the last Pokémon standing on each side. As long as Ash's good Pokémon (as in all his other Unova Pokémon aside from the starters and Scraggy) get some significant screen time, I won't be bothered either way.

I'd actually really like him to bring back some of his old Pokémon before he does get knocked out of this league, not because I want to see any of them in particular, but because I wanted it shoved right in Trip and Iris' face that Ash has 44 gym badges; competed in 5 Pokémon League competitions and won one of them; has 7 frontier symbols and won the Kanto Battle Frontier, as well as having a load of well-trained and powerful Pokémon. I miss late Sinnoh Ash. Late Sinnoh Ash had his shit together.

I appreciate that it's a kid's show, and that they 'reset' at the start of each saga to accommodate new fans, but Ash has been rubbish throughout this saga. Not many clever strategies that came from the individual traits of his Pokémon, as became his signature battle-style in the Sinnoh saga, and what made other characters respect him as an unpredictable and spirited battle. Instead it's just "Oshawott, hold up your shell and then shoot water! You'll definitely win, because you're really small and they don't expect you to be powerful!"

tl;dr I kinda want Kotetsu to knock Ash out of the league, because I've taken a liking to the little dude. Stephan and Bianca I can't stand, and want to see defeated. I don't even want Ash to battle Trip at the league; I just want Trip (a.k.a Diet Paul) to be defeated and leave the show quietly.

Ash should be smarter than Shootie, Kenyan, Bel, Langley, and probably Iris and Dent.

I'm going to take a long-shot and say Ash would be defeated by...

-Virgil and his Eevee or a Trolleon. Eevee would be fucking pathetic.
-Kotetsu and a Hydregion. Unlikely.
-Tobias. Because he'll spam his uber Excadrill and Genesect. :/

N!? Out of the blue? Did they ban Team Plasma ever since the banned Rocket-Plasma incident early on in BW? If they ban Team Plasma, that could mean no N.

The first episode of the league had a screen showing all the entrants, and now we've seen one of the top 64 - Benga, N, Iris, or whoever else you can think of isn't going to win a league they aren't entering.

Take your pick from this, no one else can or will win.

My tip for league winner is the red haired guy 10th from the left on the top row.

Yeah, I hope Dino wins too, it'll help him recover from the Hydro Pump in the face OHKO in Don Battle.

I can see him, and he actually looks like he has some potential, considering from other than the characters we already know, the rest are just generic looking background characters.

That trainer is Dino, who quickly lost to Ash in the Don Battle semifinals. His team consisted of Deerling, Tranquill and Darumaka; the latter was defeated by Ash's Palpitoad with a single Hydro Pump.

Sure, the writers could choose to redeem the character, but he doesn't even have a personality.
