Re: The How Much Japanese Music Is Kept In The Dub Thread
With the game music, though... would it be true to say that if it's kept in the dub once, it's generally always kept? Because pieces like the DP Gym Battle theme seem to be kept pretty consistently, whereas less frequently used game pieces, like RSE Victory Road, are never kept in the dub.

What about the Road to Cerulean City Theme. Was it ever used in the English Dub?

Yes, it was. For example, it was used at the beginning of Cream of the Croagunk Crop!.

But they didn't keep the current season's theme playing in the background of Infernape's Blaze fight. :(

If you're referring to The Greatest - Everyday, the dub never keeps music with Japanese vocals.
Or if you are referring to the dub's theme We Will Carry On, the dub has not used it either. They used a theme that is used in every dub episode for that particular scene.

Based on what we have heard, I'm guessing the theme that played when Infernape uses Blaze, and Dawn/Brock explaining to Flint that Infernape has not been able to control it in the past. The other themes have been used before this.

Personally, I don't thnk this season's theme would fit. (you're talking about the english one right?)
Re: The How Much Japanese Music Is Kept In The Dub Thread
Silence-wise, this week was pretty good. Over four minutes of silence in the ep, unless I'm mistaken. It should be noted that all of the TR scenes, with the exception of the first since that had their sneaking theme, were completely silent. TPCi didn't even play their little blast off theme.
Edit: Yep, four minutes.
Re: The How Much Japanese Music Is Kept In The Dub Thread
Okay, so in today's episode, we kept 6 pieces of music.

As for dub music pieces, I lost track at 6, but I know there was more than that, at least 10. :eh:
Re: The How Much Japanese Music Is Kept In The Dub Thread
Here's the Japanese music used in Four Roads Diverged in a Pokemon Port:
1. Team Rocket's Secret Strategy
2. Team Rocket's Theme
3. When Jasmine calls out her Steelix (Ash's theme from JP version of Pokemon Movie 1)
4. Sinnoh Wild Pokemon Battle Theme
5. Johto Rival Theme
6. Ending music
Re: The How Much Japanese Music Is Kept In The Dub Thread
One thing I'm surprised people never say is how many pieces were in the Japanese original, so that we can know the percentage of music kept in this episode.

15 pieces of music were in the Japanese original. So that means 40% of the Japanese music was kept.

I guess that means the Dubbers flipped a coin and it came up head six out of fifteen times. It sure seems that way.
