So nudity=exploitation? Not hardly.
She's seen in outline, basically. The nudity is about the same level of exploitation you see in a soap commercial.
I guess some people have problems with soap commercials as well.
But of course you two are right, the "nudity" is by no means anywhere near the Love Hina-level. I guess that´s your fear, Weedle, right? Those dream sequences are nothing unusual, I remeber numerous "naked"-dream sequences from Sailor Moon alone.
But, maybe, Haruka´s revealing attitude was the reason the writers remover her from the show. You know, stripping naked at the beach in front of Satoshi, Takeshi and her brother...such bad influences on the children...
LOL, if Weedle thinks Pokemon has fanservice, try watching real anime that actually has tons of fanservice.
Pokemon is incredibly tame in this regard.
Excellent update Dogasu. Hope you feel better and keep up the great work.
The only good human is a dead human!
Oops! Wrong franchise.

A thousand condolences to all Maddie Blaustein fans. She will be missed forever more. Maddie Blaustein 1960-2008
Hmm. It seems I get ten cool points then because that line is from
Oh I can't believe I forgot, now this might be better suited for the Arceus Movie thread, I'll just post it here.
In the movie where the butterfly effect originated or the book, anyway in the movie of said book a person asked the very same question "Why aren't the changes in the past reflected automatically in the present?" A scientist explained the ripple effect. That changes in the past would ripple to the present so the past could catch up to the present, instead of just "crashing" in one go. The ripple effect is how they managed to save themselves from the change in evolution.
Maybe that's why Arceus was still fighting the dragon trio. Because until Ash said he was Ash the changes in the past hadn't caught up to the present. Okay granted there's a difference between 5000 and millions of years but it's possible isn't it? Also explains why Ash and co remember, because the characters in the "Butterfly Effect" movie, remembered the original time line, even with all the "evolution" changes. Heck even the non main characters were startled to see plants growing everywhere.
About the two Gible eps being "last two eps of season 12" - actually, it's very likely that the first of these will be the last one and the second will be the first of season 13
Remember what happened with season 10 - it was 51 eps as if they counted the skipped clip show ep, and this time we had another skipped clip show ep
I hope they won't do that as it'll be weird in countries that get huge breaks between season to see the season end with part 1 of a two parter...
Also, while it's very unlikely the season will be anything other than 51/52 eps, I also thought about the possibility of it being 47 eps like season 9 - as that would make end with the last Galactic episode which would fit the current "season title" or whatever you call that
So I won't jump to conclusions just yet, I view all these 3 options (47/51/52) as possible right now, but I think 51 is the most likely based on what happened with season 10, while 47 is least likely as it isn't as big as starting DP in last 5 eps like would happen if they didn't cut S9 to 47
now now, I don't think he meant it like that. Just as people will use "real" in certain expressions signifying something as more hardcore ("like a real man"), it could just be used to refer to more edgy Japanese animations while not specifically denying Pokemon's place as one (and I'm pretty damn sure Scott acknowledges Pokemon as an "anime" and wouldn't dare debate otherwise). His point still holds up. Though Toshihiro Ono's manga, an example that Weedle McHairybug did use, actually is quite risque, that hasn't been around for a good decade now. As a whole, the Pokemon franchise today is ridiculously tame compared to most other Japanese franchises, several of which are shounen (hell, if anything, those seem to be getting even more sexualized nowadays, to a point where the average Japanese 10-year old would probably be able to tell when a scene's implying fellatio and even know what the hell that is; To Love-ru, anybody?).
Yup, classes again. I'm gonna be at this for a while.
Sorry to be a nitpick, but Kyojin no Hoshi is not a "Japan-Only" series. It was released in Italy.
Great update today, very interesting. Would definitely like to see more first-hand impressions like these.
A little nitpick, though:
"4D" is not a Japanese term, and has been around for more than 10 years. The first 4D movie I saw was "Viking Quest", a Norwegian movie from 1995 still airing today at the educational theme park Vikingland. But you have to remember that this is Japan; adding an extra number to "3D" to signify that it has something extra doesn't seem that out-of-place here.
So.
It's too bad that it's impossible to watch this unless you happen to live or be in Japan in the right time...
I'd really love to watch these... and as much as they're not important at all, I still consider them part of the anime, just like anything else
Thank you for covering the 3-D shorts. The general lack of information about these has been killing me for a while.
If this Seabed Adventure short was never dubbed or released outside of Japan, then why is there an English poster for it on Bulbapedia?
