If Ash could lose to a Meowth in boots, then I don't see why it's so ridiculous for him to lose to an Eevee, especially when they've been promoting Eevee and its evolutions for awhile.

The recent episode referred to the round with Kotetsu and Bianca as the second round. I don't see why the summaries would have a different counting system, even if they referred to Bianca and Kotetsu's battle as the first main round.

Assumptions shouldn't be passed off as facts. It is anything but obvious that the preliminaries aren't considered to be the first round.

As far as im concerned, it is very obvious that Ash is going to lose to Virgil, most likely in a top 8 battle. I don't usually say things are obvious, but here it seems appropriate.

Ash will likely lose to Virgil in the top 4, though I don't see why Virgil can't use six eeveelutions instead of five eeveelution and an Eevee, I don't want to see Ash losing against a normal-type base form, again, and even if he doesn't, I'll still feel a tad cheated if he loses to an eeveelution team.

Let me get this straight

VS Shootie = Top 128
VS CoTD = Top 64
VS Kenyan = Top 32
VS CotD = Top 16
VS Kotetsu = Top 8
VS Virgil = Top 4

He will win a league when we see what diglett is hiding.

There's probably going to be another COTD battle between Kotetsu and Virgil.

Good luck with that. There is no reason why a COTD would be made more important than all the other rivals.

The Hoenn league had a full 6 on 6 battle that was skipped entirely, (they didn't even show a montage of it, the whole thing literally happened off-screen), so the same could happen there.

What are you talking about? Katie was said to be Ash's first opponent in the 6VS6 rounds (Ash was in the Top 32 before that round), and there were no filler battles from that point on (hence he only made it to the Top 8).

Ash needed to win 3 battles to get to the Top 8, we only saw 2.

I think your math is a little off

I know this might sound weird but. What if during the battle between ash and virgil eevee evolves into a new eeveelution? Like a Preview Pokemon for Gen 6?

That's what many of us have been thinking is that Virgil's Eevee will suddenly evolve into a Gen 6 Eeveelution in a deus-ex-machina method to defeat Ash and have him start from scratch in the next region.
