Re: Could Satoshi actually WIN the Higaki Conference?
He'll defeat Kotetsu in Top 8, Virgil in top 4, and finally Dino the man in the finals. Congrats Satoshi!

But if I recall correctly, the screen showing all the participants (including Trip), showed 128 people. In other words, even though it is preliminiaries, the battle in Top 128 is counted as a regular battle.

Oh, then it's my mistake ^^ Jeez that would mean Sato vs Virgil will be top 8? hopefully this means Sato beats Virgil.

Why would you not count with Trip's battle? His and Ash's battle was the first battle among Top 128, and then with his second battle being against Stephan, third against CoTD, and fourth Kotetsu? Isn't that the way it is? If that's the case, his battle against Kotetsu will be Top 16.

I believe that's what going to happen, but I don't know if it is confirmed. Anyway, we're assuming Ash won't beat another CotD in his way.

I know it is a long shot, but I can't bring myself to believe that Virgil will defeat Satoshi. by god that would be horrible >>

If the Top 128 round is indeed the preliminary and is not counted as the "first round," then I guess you're right. I knew that Ash vs. Kotetsu was the fourth round, but I didn't know the Top 128 round didn't count.
In that case, Ash will defeat Kotetsu in Top 8 and will probably lose to Virgil in Top 4. It's just a round over.
Re: Could Satoshi actually WIN the Higaki Conference?
He will win the league and N will invite him to his castle.

Seriously, though, it's become mind-boggling how to continue to claim that Ash will win the league, despite all the evidence against it, as if you're the lead writer of the anime. Though, tbh, I knew you would, in spite of the recent news, because I knew that nothing will convince you to think otherwise other than actually watching the last league episode yourself, and all because you WANT it to happen and for no other reason.
*sigh* Well... go ahead and continue to believe whatever you want, but be prepared for the hardest slap to the face you've ever experienced.

I honestly don't quite understand how you came to that conclusion. Like I mentioned before, N's appearance makes it even more likely that Ash will lose the League to Virgil, as opposed to a sign of him winning it, since I don't think that they would announce a new arc coming in January if Ash won the League and could get to the Champion League. Plus, I don't think that there's enough time to cover the rest of the League and I seriously doubt that they would skip full battles. I understand that you want to see Ash win a League, but I don't see any solid evidence pointing to that conclusion.

Why would that be horrible? If he's good enough to get to the top 8 with Ash, he should be good enough to beat him
Re: Could Satoshi actually WIN the Higaki Conference?
With the new evidence of episode N, I wouldn't be surprised if Ash won the league and travelled round Unova, challenging the Elite 4 along with N, having won the league.
It's unlikely, but possible.

If Ash were eligible to battle the Elite Four, why would he need to travel around Unova? They're supposed to be challenged consecutively in a single place.
Yes, it is.

You can say same thing for Battle Frontier.
