The worst thing is that this won't even give the writers a chance to showcase all of Trip's Pokémon, at maximum 3!

Still, it'll be funny to see Trip as Top 64 or something

It seems like BW2 just craps all over sol many characters that isn't iris

Ash gets shafted so often he feels like a sidekick by now.

Dawn was thrown under the bus to glorify dragonite
Trip is losing in the first round of the league.

I feel bad for trip though, paul set the bar so high that he was always doomed to fail, maybe they could get paul to return in the unova league :P and win it XD

Iris got neglected for the entire saga, now she's somehow the main focus of the show? that alone killed the entire saga for me, and cilan's goal was a waste of time.. he was already an "A" class connisour, what more could he do? he is already at the top, plus the evolutions make no sense, unfeazant has atleast 6-7 battles in total and she is fully evolved and oshawott has had atleast 50 and he's still a little plushie toy! Gahh, and don't get me started on the music score being replaced.

TBH i want tobias to return and wipe out ash's entire unova team with his darkrai to show how weak and underdeveloped they are.

The hell?! Trip is being done out first? That is so wrong that it's so funny! I can't even stand it anymore. One of the league I thought would be the best ends up starting out weird. Anywho, I stopped caring long ago. It feels if it's as though they are not even trying with any of the characters other than Iris for that matter. It's sad. I wonder what rank Ash will get in this league if his top rival gets the lowest score. Top 16 again anyone?

Is it a 6 on 6 battle? Since the battle is a 2 parter I really wonder.

What was the point of having Trip win the Junior Cup then? They made him out to be some strong opponent last time.

My hopes came true so if I'm really lucky Ash will win but he'll probably lose to eevee. Guy I said this was possible didn't I. Big hook Trip's Alder plot is rapped up. Hell yeah. I just need to hope as hard as I can that Ash wins against Trip. It will be nice to see Chandelure and Jellicent though unless they completely change Trip's team ala Barry

Since this is the start of the Unova League, I seriously doubt that it's a six on six battle. It's possible, but they usually don't have full battles until the later rounds of the league when they've gotten to the strongest trainers, so I don't think that they would start off the Unova League with a full battle. I'm guessing that this battle doesn't start until the last few minutes of this episode and then the bulk of it is in the following episode. As for the Junior Cup, it was probably an attempt to make him look like a stronger trainer than he had been depicted as in the last couple of tournaments to give some life to the rivalry, which most likely didn't work, and to resolve his Alder plot.

I'm still kind of amazed that they're going for this battle right from the start. That is pretty funny with getting rid of that poorly handled rivalry right off the bat and I'm okay with that.

But its spread out over 2 episodes. I don't see why a 3 on 3 would take that long.

Even if the first 10 minutes of the ep is just spent on introductions, a 3 on 3 would fit into the last 10 minutes quite easily.
